Hybrids, I'm signing off for a few days but will check in again soon. Good luck to everyone testing or OV-ing this week! Fingers crossed! Flowers

Madredear · 28/07/2015 11:30

Congrats Glitter omg GrinThanks

Girls I need advice.. Last night I was at a friend's (who thought she may be pregnant), she wasn't, but was scared out of her heard so said she'd only take a test if I agreed to do one too. I did, and it was positive?

My last period started on the 22nd and it was most certainly a period as it lasted 3 days and was clumpy etc.

What's going on Shock

CarrotVan · 28/07/2015 11:46

I think I probably oved at some point on Monday. + opk Sunday afternoon, lots of ov pain all of Sunday night

madredear just because it looks like a period and quacks like a period doesn't mean it is a period...I would test again in a couple of days and maybe call your local EPU for advice. It's possible that you are pregnant and had a breakthrough bleed or sadly that you were pregnant, had a very early miscarriage when your period should have been and the hormones are still in your system.

bonkers if you get decaff tea you need to brew it longer and get good quality stuff otherwise it tastes of nothing

KittyandTeal · 28/07/2015 12:28

Holy crap madre! That's amazing!

I wonder if your 'period' was an implantation bleed? Was it painful? Do you have any other early signs?

I guess get onto you EPU or gps and get bloods done maybe.

3Princes99 · 28/07/2015 12:29

Haha Pulpi sorry for the confusion!

Carrot I think you have it covered with the bd you've already done but if the mood takes you, go for it

Huge congratulations msGlitter - we needed another BFP on the bus????

Madre I so do hope you get your sticky bean! Test again with a digi and see how many weeks it says ????

RalucaMorena · 28/07/2015 12:32

Yay for bfps!
Af is in full swing here so I'm impatient to ovulate.
Lay night I realised dh takes a lot of ranitidine which apparently kills swimmers. Confused
Told dh to stop it and switch to omeprazole. [at wits end]

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 12:37

raluca I had no idea about the ranitidine, does it affect female fertility too? I was put on that last month but stopped it last week as wasn't helping me, now got omeprazole and gaviscon...

Madre I can understand why you are confused, definitely try with another test and see your GP

I just had my daily spoonful of manuka honey, no idea if it does help, but can't hurt (if only I liked the stuff!)

PallasCat · 28/07/2015 12:50

Blimey madre! Yup, test again in a couple of days, I reckon.

Lily, manuka hey? Is that meant to be good for fertility then? I hadn't heard that one though it's worked miracles for immune support in the past. Might give that a go!

Banana79 · 28/07/2015 12:53

CONGRATULATIONS MsGlitter woooohooooo...and possibly to you too Madre...OMG!! Have another woooohooooo. Thanks for the continued finger crossing ladies. I had a bit of spotting this morning but it's gone now so not sure if AF will get me today or not.

7 children Pulpi.....wow!! Grin

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 13:07

PallasCat I read that it could help, though I have to keep my tub at work since if DH knew I spent £10 on honey he'd question my sanity Smile Think it is meant to stimulate ovulation or something like that

ODog · 28/07/2015 13:11

Congrats glitter and madre! Lovely news x

IrisPurple · 28/07/2015 13:14

Yay! Congrats on your BFP Glitter!

Lily if you generally eat healthily and keep active, unless you need to lose weight I wouldn't beat yourself up about food.

I'd recommend looking on NHS Choices about what you can / can't eat during pregnancy, it gives really clear advice.

Birchy ETD approx 26 Aug, depends if cycle 27 or 28d this time.

I generally lie down for 5-20 mins depending on how much time I've got, always seem to need a wee or something! I read that you need to stay lying down, but also heard that it doesn't make a difference. I also put a pillow underneath during sex to get the best angle LOL.

Bonkers I agree it is absolutely Bonkers trying to plan your life without knowing if you're going to be heavily pregnant, throwing up, newborn in tow or still TTC! Trying to plan weekend away for husbabd's 40th in Nov, I know he'd love to go to Paris, but I don't even know if I'll be physically up to it. Also had to give up my amateur dramatics as I can't audition in advance if I then have to pull out.
Wondering if I should just bite the bullet and worry about the consequences only if and when I get pg, can't put life on hold forever...

Emu123 · 28/07/2015 13:51

carrot sounds like we're in sync as pretty sure I od yesterday. We bd on Saturday morning and last night but not feeling at all confident and really wished we did it on Sunday too. I'm not even convinced oh came much last night (tmi!)

If I od yesterday, do u think Saturday morning bd covers it? Guess we'll do it tonight too to cover it off but am feeling totally knackered! I keep googling how long does sperm last for!

mad fingers crossed on the test result. Definitely sounds positive :)

Thisisbonkers · 28/07/2015 14:00

IrisPurple, im also tentatively looking for a new job but don't want to get caught finding out I'm pregnant in between finishing and starting, and I want to book a big trip but can't do it it I might be heavily pregnant (was hoping to have a small baby when we first discussed going!). Don't want to waste life ttc and doing nothing, but it would be a royal pita to lose money/job!

Madredear · 28/07/2015 14:07

Hi girls, I've done my research and implantation/breakthrough most certainly shouldn't be painful, really clotty/heavy and last 3+ days so I do believe it was a chemical pregnancy.

I will say this though, I was VERY surprised when AF arrived because I've never had painful breasts as a PMS symptom.

Emu123 · 28/07/2015 14:14

Oh mad I'm sorry. I would still test again though as thought chemicals didn't show up on tests very well and especially not if you've had a bleed

I definitely get frustrated feeling like my life is on hold ttc. I did a half iron man last year and would have loved to do another this year but was told all the training would be too intense so instead I've eaten came and got fat - depressing!

Emu123 · 28/07/2015 14:15

*eaten cake

KittyandTeal · 28/07/2015 14:15

Madre it sounds like you and I have had similar months! After my very heavy and painful period with a faint positive (plus a week of symptoms) my dh and I have concluded that I also had a chemical pregnancy.

Sucks a bit but also, strangely, gives me hope. I'm not allowing myself to go down the 'what was wrong with it to stop it implanting' line of thinking.

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 14:19

Madre try and get to the doctor, they can check bloods and if it was a cp then at least it is on your records.

Iris I do desperately need to lose weight, started slimming world last week and weigh in tomorrow, so fingers crossed I've not done too much damage.

I found myself reluctant to accept a course in October with work, it's only a 1 day thing, but means getting a train at 7am. Keep thinking that I might be suffering morning sickness by then and it would be a bit of a give away since I'll be travelling with my boss, but had to risk it as have no excuse otherwise

CarrotVan · 28/07/2015 14:58

I've just accepted a place on a senior leaders course for next Feb - I could be 7 months pregnant or any stage between 7 months and not at all

Banana79 · 28/07/2015 16:22

I understand the life on hold feeling and also really need to lose weight too..like 4 stone!! I should get my fat arse to a slimming club but I keep think 'I won't be able to stick to it when I'm pregnant..'

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 16:44

Banana I was thinking like that too, along with I need to eat to take my painkillers with food (definitely need a huge bar of chocolate for that...right?) but finally got to a point that seeing myself naked made me cry, and DH commented that he rarely got to look at me any more.

I have a good 4 stone to lose too, hoping I can get at least 1 or 2 done before any pregnancy weight gain starts

Spicysugars · 28/07/2015 16:47

Banana, omg I had that exact same thinking pattern, still do!

I keep having fleeting thoughts about having my lovely teenage abs back but then I keep thinking 'but I'll have a bump soon anyway'

Might not Shock????

3Princes99 · 28/07/2015 16:54

I have 4 stone to lose too! (At least) We should start a weight loss bus together and have stats with how much we've lost! Hehe

KittyandTeal · 28/07/2015 17:02

I'm with you on the 'putting your life on hold' thing. I'm starting to feel like life is passing me by while I just wait for another baby.

My head has obviously put me into an easily replaceable position next year, obviously thinking I'll be going on maternity at some point.

My dh and I had a conversation last week and have decided to give it a year then draw a line under it, accept that we have had the 2 babies we're meant to have and start making a life knowing our family will be just me, him and dd1. His thinking is he doesn't want too bigger and age gap, I'm not bothered about an age gap. My thinking is that once I hit 35 my risk of trisomies rockets from 1:1000 to around 1:100, it's too big a risk for me. I also don't think it's fair for my dd1 to have us with half a mind on another baby, stressing about symptoms and ovulation times etc.
