Totally with you on "life on hold ". In the last year I had 2 mc and always thought that I would have a baby so everything else was not important. Now I still have a son and no new baby. So I kinda feel this year was kinda wasted.

pulpi · 28/07/2015 19:18

Well me and my seven kids (lord, what a handful) think that AF is arriving. Very light spotting today. Still holding onto hope, though. Did buy a nice bottle of wine, just in case.

CarrotVan · 28/07/2015 19:39

Banana if it helps I think Slimming World have a plan for pregnancy so it might be a good plan to look at

Banana79 · 28/07/2015 21:25

Well AF got me Sad

I am sad I haven't fallen but even more sad that my cycle seems to be getting even bloody longer

Thanks for the SW tip Carrot. I am feeling very sorry for myself tonight, can't keep putting this weight issue off until 'after the next pregnancy'. It might even be my weight stopping me conceiving.

I have cracked open the vino.....

PallasCat · 28/07/2015 21:28

Oh banana sorry for AF and sorry you're so down hun.

3Princes99 · 28/07/2015 21:32

We're the same kitty, we've given it till Christmas! Not long left! If we haven't conceived then we are just going to concentrate on the ones we have and enjoy it while they're young. My eldest will go to secondary school this time next year :(

Hope we all get our BFP vey soon x

Thinking of you Madre x

birchygoo · 28/07/2015 21:46

Let's do it Birchy. I've just found a local SW club for tomorrow. Gah.

Tomorrow will be a better day!! Wink

Madredear · 29/07/2015 07:32

Hi girls,

Had bloods taken at hospital which were negative. Took a clearblue which was also negative Confused

KittyandTeal · 29/07/2015 08:06

Sorry to hear that madre. I guess it was a chemical pregnancy or a false positive (is that a thing?)

IrisPurple · 29/07/2015 08:27

I've read all the responses since my post yesterday and they've made me think. It's so sad how many of us have put our life on hold.

I'd still say it was worth making changes to diet and lifestyle where necessary, such as taking folic acid. Many of these also have health benefits even when we don't conceive. If you need to lose weight do it now - do it anyway, for yourself!

But please don't let us hold ourselves back. If we end up having to cancel a course or miss out on a trip then it's worth it for a baby. But it is not worth missing out for no reason. It just makes the disappointment harder to bear.

I know how you all feel, I am such a control freak - I want to plan everything in advance and know exactly what I'm doing. I had it all mapped out for getting pregnant straight after the pill - literally the first time we had sex - because that's what happened to my mum. But I'm coming to terms with the fact that a baby just can't be planned. It's so hard not knowing if and when such a major life change, that can throw out all your plans, will take place. My advice to all of us is to carry on as normal, take those opportunities at work, book those holidays, enjoy those hobbies.

So Kitty chuck out the OPKs and get on with your life! And I'll see you on the Pregnancy board!

CarrotVan · 29/07/2015 08:28

Which reminds me of what a friend calls the single rule of ttc and pregnancy - nothing/everything is normal/not normal in ttc and pregnancy

CarrotVan · 29/07/2015 08:35

I'm with iris. I have an interview in a couple of weeks for a full time promotion and I've been accepted onto a Senior Leadership course in February. In the meantime I'm taking prenatal vitamins and making sure I have sex in my fertile period and during the rest of the month

Good luck to those starting SW or other healthy eating plans. I'll happily cheer you on

lilygirl81 · 29/07/2015 09:06

Iris you speak words of wisdom. I also have another side of things. I've been on fairly major drugs to keep pain at bay. I know one of them causes huge issues in pregnancy, so came off that a couple of months ago. I'm waiting for a pain clinic appointment, and had initially planned to not ttc until that came through. In the end, I got sick of putting my life on hold because of pain and disability so we went for it. As soon as I get that BFP I'll be straight to the doctor to work out what I can and can't take, but have my trusty TENS machine so see me through the worst of it.

PallasCat · 29/07/2015 09:10

Yay Iris starting us off today on a very positive note! Too true.

Sorry to hear it madre x

Banana79 · 29/07/2015 10:19

Wise words Iris! I was going to post something similar but you have expressed it much more coherently than I could!

Lots of tears last night and a good chat with OH and we have agreed that we should go with the flow, when it happens it happens, and in the mean time we get on with living our lives.

I'm starting slimming world TONIGHT. It will at least give me something else to obsess over!

Have a great day ladies! Grin Grin Grin

RalucaMorena · 29/07/2015 10:26

I'll be starting crafting again. It's usually what I do when something is wrong in my life. Well now the thing I'm not happy about is the baby so crafts will take some of the loaf off.
I used to be in fairs and exhibitions before but this year I put it on hold. Maybe it's time to go back. ..

Banana79 · 29/07/2015 10:37

Sorry Madre Sad Thanks

Thisisbonkers · 29/07/2015 10:51

Day one of decaffinated tea Brew. Ok, I cheated and had proper tea for the first cup of the day but I have my trusty box of decaf on my desk Grin

I 'fessed up to my best friend about trying last night (after her 13 week old vommed on me - yuk!). She was of the same opinion as Iris. So life is no longer on hold. My OH is going to find out the time frame for booking standby flights (he works for an airline) and we're going to get planning our hols.

She also suggested working backwards from when we want to do something and then not ttc that month, but that just makes me feel we'd be starting from square one the following month. I know that's illogical and bonkers but Hmm

Feel better about things today. Thanks you guys Star

daisylassy · 29/07/2015 11:21

Such wise words iris. I have decided that I need to have something else to focus on. I too could do with shedding two stone... Lost 5 for my wedding four years ago but put 2 back on. I'm going to sort and get creative agin do some pottery and crocheting... After been on another thread on here it makes you realise that life is precious and unpredictable so although ttc is something we want, it will happen when it happens and what's important is been happy and living life to the full x

KittyandTeal · 29/07/2015 11:21

You're right iris. We do need to be getting on with life.

I'm not going to chuck the opk (I'm a control freak about my body since dd2) but I am going to stop letting it preoccupy my mind.

From now on it will be temp and opk in the morning, stats into ff then that's it for the day. I will get on with enjoying dd1.

Saying that, a part of my life will always be on hold, but that's grief I guess.

CarrotVan · 29/07/2015 11:35

What do you do Raluca? In my spare time I'm a knitting pattern designer and was doing reasonably well but haven't picked up my needles in ages - lack of time, spark etc

Emu123 · 29/07/2015 11:53

iris such a lovely positive message - thank you. Sounds like we've all got things we need to get on with so let's do it girls!! I'm in my tww now but there will be no minimal symptom spotting

birchygoo · 29/07/2015 12:15

I'm 7 days into my 2ww now and I have to say i have stopped symptom spotting - last 9 months I have had every pregnancy symptom going and never had a BFP. So I now feel it is pointless. This month I am just ignoring its happening.

OP posts:
lilygirl81 · 29/07/2015 12:32

Not symptom spotting (esp as I am at the very most 3dpo, more likely 1!) but wonder if anyone else gets this. May be TMI, but yesterday my lady bits felt a bit achey, and today it has increased significantly. I sometimes get it a bit when AF is due, but not normally this badly. Does anyone else get this? Wondering if it could be a really bizarre ov symptom!
