I've just swapped seven seas for pregnacare because they seem more well rounded re the vit content. However the tablets are huge! And I like the fact that SS label their pills by day, great for a sieve brain like me.

Terrible nights sleep. Live in a small flat and our cat has evidently been having a mad turn running around all night. Angry thank god she can go out. Couldn't imagine if she was a house cat!

auf glad to hear you're well. I just had my GP appt yesterday confirming pregnancy but now I have to fill in a self referrel form and send to my local hospital. Is this normal? Seems v long winded. Plus in a few weeks I'm on hols for 2.5 weeks and worried I won't have any support pre scan. But again don't know if that's not usual or not. No blood test so far.

Banana79 · 28/07/2015 06:51

Another BFN for me today and that was a cb digi so I really need to face the fact it hasn't happened Sad

CD36 today. This is the longest cycle so far. I had a +opk on 15th July and ov pains 15th and 16th of July so if my lp is greater than 12 days there is still a small chance I suppose......but even then I should have had a + from the cb digi.

BOOOOOOOOOOO.

Londonlady2015 · 28/07/2015 07:05

Sorry banana Flowers

pulpi · 28/07/2015 07:08

Oh god Princes, we're still working on number 1. I think I must have entered the stats wrong. Interneting before coffee - always a disaster!

pulpi · 28/07/2015 07:12

Oh rotten luck Banana. Here's hoping that the test just didn't pick up the hormones.

IrisPurple · 28/07/2015 08:03

Birchy we must have posted at the same time. AF arrived on Sunday, 1d early. At least I appear to be regular.

I see from your stats you're on cycle 8, I'm just starting cycle 3, so I can see why you've taken a more sensible approach to cutting things out. I've organised a night out on Friday which originated just because I'm allowed to drink that weekend - our favourite pub has just got our local gin back in, it's the best gin ever and dead hard to get hold of. I'm really looking forward to my night out and hope they have some left!

pulpi your husband sounds like mine! I had to send him out for chocolate last month Lol. I wolfed half a big bar last night. Honestly it's like going through puberty again!

Birchy what kind of cat have you got? Our black cat often wakes us between 4 - 6 wanting attention, even tho he ignores us all day!

IrisPurple · 28/07/2015 08:05

Sorry that last bit was meant for Londonlady! Wish you could edit these...

Banana sorry to hear it turned out to be AF. Flowers

CarrotVan · 28/07/2015 09:01

london - normally you have your first mw appointment around 8-10 weeks where they take your history and do blood/urine tests, then the first scan around 11-13 weeks plus a same day mw appointment if you're having the Downs test, then you have appointments at 16, 20 (scan), 25 (think this is just for 1st babies), 30, 34, 38, 40 and 41 wks

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 09:16

I'm only really cutting down on things to give me some sense of control over things. Healthy eating went a bit wrong yesterday, the freezer door got left open so it was a combination of everything we had to eat. Managed to save a giant chunk of meat which we forgot was in there, so DH is roasting that up today.
Dtd this morning, so hoping that if I did ov yesterday, that I may still have caught it.

MsGlitterJunkie · 28/07/2015 09:25

So sorry to hear your af arrived banana Sad sending you lots of Cake and Flowers be kind to yourself.

Lots and lots of luck to everyone for August.

I've been taking pregnacare for yonks and they seem to work well for me, other than that I haven't really made any lifestyle changes but then again I'm pretty healthy anyway!

I tested this morning and got my BFP! Am beyond thrilled and excited and shocked! Very chuffed indeed!

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 09:26

I meant to ask, it may be TMI, but how long do you try and stay lying down after you dtd? I normally try for at least 5 minutes, but not sure if it should be longer or doesn't really matter

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 09:31

MsGiltterJunkie That's amazing news, congratulations!

MsGlitterJunkie · 28/07/2015 09:46

Thank you lily! Grin

I used to lie down with a pillow under my hips for about 20 mins......not really sure if lying down afterwards really matters to be perfectly honest as sperm are programmed to swim against gravity etc. but that said it didn't stop me doing it!!

birchygoo · 28/07/2015 09:47

Iris sorry I missed your post and that AF arrived. I hope you are alright. Do you have a new ETD?

3princes & pulpi sorry that I gave you 7 kids, I may need to book you a holiday for the shock. It was my mistake - this is what happens when uploading stats in work while trying to hide screen from colleagues so they do not know what your doing!

banana fingers crossed you just don't have high enough hormones yet. Do you temp at all?

MrsGlitter yehhhh Im so happy for you congrats!! I have added your BFP to the stats.

lily I tend to try and lye down for about 10-15 minutes but I have friends who have 3+ kids and never lay down and one of those had fertility problems!

I woke up with a stinking cold this morning - booo

OP posts:
lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 09:49

Birchy that's rubbish about the cold, although I seem to remember that on the ttc boards back in 2007 there was thought that there was some merit in taking robitusssen (sp?), the decongestant one as it thinned all mucus so could help with cm...

ODog · 28/07/2015 09:51

I laid down for hours last night since I fell asleep straight after. Well at least until the first dumy run of the night. How romantic! TTC second time around is a bit different to the first time Hmm

CarrotVan · 28/07/2015 10:15

Congratulations MsGlitter

I am knackered. Ov pain kept me awake on Sunday and last night I just couldn't get to sleep. I did discover that nutella makes a great hot chocolate

If I had a + opk on Sunday (cd14), bd on Monday, should I also try to persuade MrVan into more tonight (I'm so tired...)? We've only managed cd 9, 11 and 15 so far

lilygirl81 · 28/07/2015 10:36

Carrot see how you feel later. We have only managed on cd8 and cd13 so going to see how tomorrow goes...

daisylassy · 28/07/2015 10:48

Congratulations MsGlitter????!!!
I've just started with the laying down after dtd ... Do feel a little silly tho...

KittyandTeal · 28/07/2015 10:52

Brilliant news glitter!

I've always tried to lie down after dtd. Tbh most of the time we do it before sleeping so it happens anyway.

I use soft cups to keep it all in iyswim. Saves waking up in a wet patch!

birchygoo · 28/07/2015 11:08

carrot as lily said see how you feel - ovulation occurs 12-24 hours after +ve opk and egg then lives for 24 hours. So if you think you ovulated on Sunday night then egg would only have lived to Monday night if it didnt fertilise. latest it could live 24 hours after +ve would be monday morning, then 24 hours for egg is Tuesday morning. So its probably unlikely that you need to but I always like to add 12 hours on for completeness as some people say 36 hours for ovulation after +ve.

Plus sperm lives up to 3 days

This month I ovulated early so I just about caught day of ovulation and 3 days before ovulation. So I dont know if i will have any luck with that - have a little bitta hope though

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 28/07/2015 11:17

lol at pulpi's seven children! Grin
Congrats again glitter!

Thisisbonkers · 28/07/2015 11:17

Congratulations glitter!

I'm feeling fed up about it all again. To think when we started ttc back in December we were worried about me wobbling around a music festival in June... The stroppy side of me (who said that?!) makes me want to pack it all in and spend my 'maternity leave savings' on a big holiday instead. I may not be being entirely rational. But it's so hard to make future plans when you have no idea when things will happen.

So I'm trying to think of easy but positive changes I can make to help improve our chances. I drink far too much tea, so I can try decaff Hmm. And I can make an effort with my pregnawhatsit vitamins. I'd say give my diet an overhaul but I'm meeting friends for pizza tonight Blush

PallasCat · 28/07/2015 11:23

Glitter Woohoo! Congratulations! Flowers Flowers

Banana I'm still slyly keeping FX for you.

Carrot yeah I reckon as Lily said, see how you feel. If you can it's worth it. I definitely think it's important though not to push self/OH to the point where DTD becomes a chore - one of my real concerns about TTC if it takes a while actually.

Birchy ace work on that stats Smile thank you.

I think you're spot on about making healthy choices for yourself as positive actions, rather than as sacrifices.

I was also wondering about the lying down thing last night (while trying to stay lying down, lol!) I generally try to, and to raise my knees. Anyway, the stupid cat climbed on to DH's belly last night instead of mine, so I was the one who had to go downstairs to do lights and stuff. The fool! Doesn't she realise?! Cat-on-belly is like the trump card for not having to get up!

And as far as exercising, I was reading this WebMD pre-pregnancy yesterday. Unless it's a high-impact sport or one that may lead to you putting yourself in a physically dangerous situation then I think you're good. Though I know with yoga you're meant to notify your instructor straight away if pg - ante-natal isn't just for when you're showing a bump.

PallasCat · 28/07/2015 11:27

Bonkers yup tea is my real stumbling block. There's no way I can cut it out. (I mean while TTC, obv I'll limit when pg!) I've tried decaf but it's just not the same! I really love my tea!
Hmm Brew Grin
