Another bfn for me too :( af due in 2 days ????

Kazz2112 · 04/07/2015 10:27
  1. Af due Monday. same as Genwah.

Trying not to be down. I'm away with my mate this weekend who is in the 2ww waiting to find out of her 2nd attempt at surrogacy has been successful and expecting a hysterectomy I'm the next 6 months at 32. She's literally the most amazingly lovely person you could ever meet. Puts our difficulties into perspective. I would do anything for her to get good news next saturday when they test.

Marchgirl · 04/07/2015 13:12

Sorry for the bfns. Totally gutted for you both. Really hoping next month will be luckier x

Hi ladies sorry I've not posted for a few days, been super busy!
I had my randomization appointment on fri, all went well & didn't take as long as I was expecting...was out in 3hours. I'm not finding the injections anywhere as near as bad as I was expecting! I've noticed I feel crampy since starting the injections, not really menstrual cramps just achey feeling across my lower stomach & occasionally in lower back...have any other ladies had this? Apart from this I'm feeling ok & trying to stay positive Smile

Sorry to hear you got another bfn this morning kaz...I really hope next month will be your lucky month! X

Kazz2112 · 05/07/2015 18:13

AF has started to arrive. A day earlier than expected and it's bloody horrible. I'm in so much pain! just home after a 5 hour drive from south Wales and I'm exhausted! I think a takeaway may be on the cards because I just can't be bothered cooking!

sizethree · 05/07/2015 18:37

brummie I had exactly the symptoms you described and also got throbby feelings in my boobs about 15 mins after injections too. I think knthese lasted for pretty much the full 12 weeks.
Sorry AF has arrived kazz. Get stuck into that takeaway!

Kazz2112 · 05/07/2015 18:50

Take away ordered and DH is searching out some pain relief for me!

Feeling a bit panicky atm after learning about the October deadline. based on that we have 3 more shots. but... if my cycles stay 4 weeks our middle remaining cycle will fall when were on holiday and I think I'd be a day too late to be randomised when back? (am i right you have to syart injections by 5weeks?) and cycle 3 could overshoot the deadline. so we may only have one guaranteed cycleConfused

trying not to think about it though because it's out of my control!

sizethree · 05/07/2015 19:01

I was thinking how awful that October deadline must be to deal with. It seems pretty brutal to be honest.
Hopefully you'll be automatically enrolled in the next phase of the trial which may start shortly after October? Time wise I presume that the latest the next phase would start is jan 2016, to allow those who conceive in October to reach the 12 weeks and have the full drug / placebo course.
Hoping you get some clarity from your trial team so you don't feel too much pressure.

Kazz2112 · 05/07/2015 20:14

The next phase of the trial? what do you mean?

How are you getting on Size? Are you past 20 weeks now. I lose track of everyone!

Marchgirl · 05/07/2015 20:20

I wouldn't rule yourself out of the middle cycle kazz. If it's only a day you could just lie! Or maybe you could be randomised before you go away if you get the bfp early enough? Anyway, that's irrelevant because it's coming next month!!!

What have you heard about phase 2 size?

OP posts:
Choccywoccydodah · 05/07/2015 21:29

Kazz you're meant to start injections within 3 days of your bfp, so whether you get that at 3,4,5 or 6 weeks it doesn't matter so I was told anyway.

So sorry ad has arrived Angry and hope you enjoyed your takeaway!!

Indiedog · 05/07/2015 21:29

Oh Kazz, that's pants. Get stuck in to the take away, I'm having a pot noodle!!!

Brummie, I had cramping across the top if my tummy after injections. Lasted a couple weeks maybe. I think Phillipa might say similar if I recall correctly.

As for the trial ending etc. I haven't heard about the October cut off. But my last chat with the nurse, she said they have found its taking a lot longer to get the BFPs than originally thought, they have over 50% of the original 150 needed. So I think they could go on for a while waiting to get 150 BFPs, so they are stopping soon so they can process the findings. Don't quote me on it though.
