I've put on a little weight too so I might try and lose it. I'm not a fan of exercise and I love my food so I'm useless!! as everyone has said af hasn't arrived yet kazz but I totally get how disappointing it is. I 'll no doubt be same next week when I'm testing. me and dh have been poorly this week so couldn't follow smep(if that's what it's called!!)x

Kazz2112 · 03/07/2015 09:02

My BMI ia currently 28.4. To get into normal I'd need to drop 1st 6lb. Basically my wedding weight I was 1lb within the normal range and people were shouting at me to not lose any more weight! if I get AF this time I may use some of the money I'm saving for some personal training.

I'm away with friends this weekend and our DH/DPs but next week I should be able to get back on track. sisters wedding in 3 weeks and even though I'm tempted to ruin her photos because she's such an ungrateful cow I need some confidence.

also scared she's now going to have a baby before me Sad

Marchgirl · 03/07/2015 09:37

Sorry about the bfn again kazz and gen Sad. It's so soul destroying to see that blank space. Still holding a tiny bit of hope. You never know. But big hugs x

Don't lose too much! I had the same when I got married with peeps saying don't lose anymore. I'm always about a stone heavier than 'what I should be' but I'd be a bloody rake if I lost that much!
It's more frame of mind, if you feel healthier etc.
my bmi when I caught with this one was just over 25 x

Cowgirl0802 · 03/07/2015 13:43

Hello all I've been a bit quite for the last week because I have had bleeding since last Saturday morning ( bleeding like a small period) been for 8 week scan today expecting to hear it's all over but to my surprise there was a beautiful heartbeat bleeding is now minor.Smile

clairemorgan81 · 03/07/2015 13:54

so pleased all is ok cowgirl what a relief for you I bet you have been worried sick x

Indiedog · 03/07/2015 14:26

Phew, cowgirl. Keeping everything for crossed.

As for the whole weight/fitness/happiness thing.

I am a stone heavier than when I had my DD seven years ago. BMI 29. The difference is though I am a damn sight fitter than I was.

I started running over a year ago, couldn't run round the block to start with. Eventually I can now run 10k, completed a natural obstacle course race, and military training days.
I have not lost weight. I didn't do it to lose weight or change my diet. I did it because after MCs I wanted to focus on something for me!
I ran. I am so much fitter than I've ever been. I believe it also took my mind of the 'issues'!!
Funnily, I got BFP after my two toughest months, Feb this year was the icy cold eliminator race and the training day. March I got preg.

I think if you want to do anything, exercise, swim, dance, learn to sew, you do it because it gives you time out, and time to focus on something completely different, and gives you a whole bunch of satisfaction when you've done it. Not doing because you want to get BFP, or else your mind is still not turned off! Hope that makes sense!!' It does to me, I just wanted to switch off from it all.

Maybe talk to go or trial nurse about weight, but don't get hung up on it. Be healthy, be happy.

Marchgirl · 03/07/2015 16:13

Gosh cowgirl, what a worry! Glad to hear everything is ok now. Fingers crossed the bleeding stays away now

Bloody hell cowgirl!! So glad everything ok in there!!!! Have they said where it came from? What a relief to see HB :)

Good advice indie!!

Had 24 week mw appt this aft.
All perfect, all where it should be, little fella kept kicking the sonicade lol.
Been told to ask for strep b test at 34 weeks by just saying I have itching down there and they'll swab which is great news as it was the one thing I was worried about, getting this far then a prob at birth. All in all, lovely appt Smile

Choccywoccydodah · 03/07/2015 16:16

Keep forgetting to mention, our hospital (Coventry) had their first trial birth this week Grin

clairemorgan81 · 03/07/2015 16:34

glad app went well choccy. I had strep b when I had ds x

philippa88 · 03/07/2015 17:28

Poor you cowgirl! You must have thought the worst! Goes to show though, not all bleeding is sinister!! Congrats on seeing that beautiful little heartbeat :)

Choccy - a couple of pointers please... What is is sonicade? And what is strep B? What can it do! I feel clueless! X

Indiedog · 03/07/2015 18:38

Philippa - I don't know the in's and out's of strep B, but it is a bacteria that can be found in people. Some people carry it and it causes no probs, like always having the cold sore virus but never getting cold sores etc.

The problem is, if a pregnant women passes it on during pregnancy or child birth, it can make a baby very poorly. But lots of women carry it and never pass it on, and baby etc is fine.

I hadn't really thought about it until choccy mentioned it. A friend had strep B unknowingly and her baby got poorly, but was fine in the end after treatment.

I think I might mention it to my midwife when I see her next week.

clairemorgan81 · 03/07/2015 19:06

20-30% of women carry strep b which is a bacteria in vagina. it is totally harmless but can cause problems if pregnant. I had absolutely no idea about it and no symptoms whatsoever.
I had a swab taken at 14 wks when pregnant with ds due to a bleed and I think it was picked up then but can't be sure as the midwives never told me (in the uk they don't routinely screen women for it) when I went into Labour the midwife looking after me was going through my notes and said you have strep b and that I needed a drip of antibiotics (she was astounded that I was unaware as midwife should have told me) anyway they started me on a drip straight away think it has to be within 2 hours of Labour starting, this is to prevent it passing on to baby. when ds was born, he was fine, although within 24 hours he had developed a temp and was started immediately on antibiotics to be safe and we were kept in for 5 days. he was fine but it was such a worry. once discharged we had to keep a close eye on him for 4 weeks in case it developed into infection (it thankfully didn't)
sorry if my story is alarming or worrying you but I think what happened to us wasn't the usual, worrying though. I will be treated again if I ever get to go into Labour again!
I'm sure all you ladies will be fine but your midwife should be able to reassure you x

sorry for double.post app is rubbish x

Cowgirl0802 · 03/07/2015 19:21

Thank you everyone. They don't know why I'm bleeding still bleeding but only small. I really did think the worst was prepared for it being bad news xx

Indiedog · 03/07/2015 19:25

Thanks for that Claire. Strange why they don't do it routinely. I know it must cost, and only a certain % would be positive, but still, it's one little test that may reduce later costs and worse outcomes if babies etc do get poorly.

I am going to mention it to my midwife. Will be interesting to see how she reacts, as I didn't exactly warm to her on our first encounter!!! She just didn't listen to me!!!

clairemorgan81 · 03/07/2015 19:30

apparently tests can be unreliable, I'm sure it can come and go? so one day it could show up and the next not? it's bizarre but I wish they would routinely test as ultimately can cause meningitis. i was so worried for weeks. loads of babies must be delivered where it hasn't been picked up? it's such a strange thing x

what on earth is with this app Angry

Choccywoccydodah · 03/07/2015 21:02

Grin Claire!!
The test apparently only costs a few ££s so I'd rather be offered it and be able to pay rather than not offered it at all. I was told that the test is unreliable until after 32 weeks hence she said to test for it about 34.
I didn't have the test with ds as I wasn't aware of it tbh, but it causes so much unnecessary heartbreak :(

A sonicade btw is what the listen to the heartbeat with :)
