Happy, good luck with the stabbing! No more news from me yet. I have to ring again tomorrow but the clinic closes early on a Sunday and sometimes others have had difficulty getting through. I'm hoping they will be able to tell me the outcome rather than me having to call on Monday when I'm back in work. I left Czech the day after ec so have had a few nice days back at home chilling out.

Sesame, hope you're having a nice weekend with your friend.

barkingtreefrog · 22/08/2015 22:57

Just checking in after a wet few days out of reception. Not the best summer holiday to be honest. Just reset my password and caught up with the thread.

On the fresh/frozen debate - I am fully behind the theory of frozen - I was still recovering from all the stabbing and EC when I had et on my fresh cycle, but was far more relaxed (comparatively) for the fet. However we had two blastocysts frozen and one perished and the other was damaged - so I'd be terrified of freezing all in case they didn't survive. I'm not sure whether they used a more dated procedure which lowered our chances.

Fingers crossed for the phone call Lucie

Great cake happy, glad the smear didn't throw a spanner in the works. I'd have done exactly the same Thanks.

tiger I'm in the clinic next Weds (got the date wrong) and DH has his sperm analysis first. Need to fill in all the Welfare of the Child forms in again before we go...
Great news you get two more rounds! Not good that they didn't listen to you properly Angry and you have a wait Sad.

sesame good luck for stabbing, glad you're getting going again.

rain sounds like everything is going perfectly! Smile

I'm knackered and off to bed. Was supposed to be camping tonight as well but I'd had enough. Felt like a stoppy teenager but 4 days in the rain in a campsite didn't really cut it as the holiday I needed after a very stressful month doing the Fer while DH was away Angry.

Omg just got my day 5 update! The 9cell has made it to a hatching blast and the 4 cell which I thought had stopped growing is now a compacted morula so still a day behind but still going. He said should he's pretty sure the hatching blast will be suitable for freezing and they are going to check the morula again tomorrow although the chances of that one are slim as they are very particular about which ones they freeze and won't go for anything they don't think will survive the thaw. I'm chuffed to bits at the moment though. I will get a freezing report on a day or two which will let me know for sure.

Excellent news lucie Grin

minx good luck for tomorrow, hope everything is as it should be.
DH has been back a week and it's just like he's not been away. I had a bit of a mini breakdown on holiday after the second night of poor sleep, the first caused by thunderstorms and the second lots of mini nightmares reliving every bad phone call or experience of the last cycle over the last month. Not fun. Didn't wake up in the best of moods and dh was like 'What's up with you? Cheer up you're on holiday' which, when 'holiday' was three days camping in the rain, and what was 'up' was in my head blindingly obvious, didn't go down too well.... Hmm All good now though. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow. DH still has another week and a day off Angry .

beakybeak · 23/08/2015 17:18

Sesame it's a 1930s semi and the last owner clearly hadn't done anything to it since then! It needs everything done which is why it's taking so long. How was your weekend with your friend? So you start stabbing on Monday then? Fx for a good response. When is your next scan?

Happy I hope you're managing with the mixing ok, it sounds a little more like flare than antagonistic protocol but then I'm no expert. When will your first scan be?

Minx im at mustachio towers in the morning! It's good you've got some grumblinga going on, hopefully that will show a good response tomorrow! They can always reduce your dose if they need to remember. I had an ampoule disaster last time I triggered, I accidentally smashed the glass and so there were tiny shards in the liquid, and my hand was bleeding but I had to use the liquid anyway as it was 8.30pm on a Saturday night and you HAVE to trigger at the right time or it fucks up ec. I had a big red patch around the injection site for a good while. So I definitely don't feel like a competent medic Grin

Barking welcome back from your rainy "holiday" it doesn't sound relaxing at all. Men totally seem to able to zone out of the IVF stress so easily eh. So your new clinic appointment is Wednesday? hopefully they can get you started asap.

Lucie that's great news that you have one frostie for definite. Are you staying with the same Prague clinic for your next round?

Rain when are you back at the clinic? Is it tomorrow?

Spare when will your first scan be to see how your follies are doing? Hopefully you won't over respond again!

Tiger hope you had a nice chilled weekend. When will MrTbe able to get in to the new clinic? It's great that you'll get two funded rounds with the new one at least.

I've been ill this past couple of days, chest infection and head cold but I'm knocking back the vit c and healthy eating as much as possible so hopefully it'll be gone soon. Scan tomorrow morning to see how things are going, fx! I started cetrotide this morning too which is a faffy injection, but managed ok. Having a chill day with MrB so lots of funny TV and a nice Sunday dinner Grin

lucieloos · 23/08/2015 17:38

Thanks minx Smile

Barking, sorry you didn't enjoy your holiday. Camping is never much fun in the rain. I'm back to work tomorrow after a week off and not looking forward to it either.

Beaky, hope you feel better soon and good luck for your scan tomorrow. What day of your cycle are you on now. I'm going back to cetrotide next time and interested when others start to take it. I will stay at the same clinic now most probably as it will be difficult to transfer frosties elsewhere. I think I will still go ahead with the consultation with Gennet in Prague though to see what they have to say.

SesameSparkle · 23/08/2015 19:42

happy did you have a nice day at the coast? Yes I think it's short flare you're on too as you're using buserelin to stop you ovulating rather than cetrotide (which is short antagonist protocol). You'll get an extra fsh boost at the beginning from taking the buserelin which is the flare bit. Did you start stabbing on day one of your natural cycle? And do you know why they upped your buserelin dose to 0.5? I guess the first jag could be behind your headache, if so adding in the menopur might help?

Thanks for comments berries, yes I did have a lovely relaxing weekend. Good company, lots of nice things to eat, and some laughs too. Got home tho to a pregnancy announcement from someone very close and now I'm unraveling. Sad

I'm going to post the rest of the personals later.

happylass · 23/08/2015 20:24

Hi Sesame. Yes we had a lovely time away thanks although the weather was shocking!! I started stabbing on cd2 of my natural cycle. It's not so much that they've upped my dose for any particular reason but this cycle is NHS and they use 0.5iu whereas my other 2 cycles have been private and they've used 0.3iu. Had another headache today though not quite as bad as yesterday. I have stopped the caffeine since I got back from hols last week so that could be behind it too. I also haven't been great with my water intake so need to watch that. I find it far easier when I'm in work. Sorry to hear about the pg announcement - always so difficult Flowers
Lucie glad to hear you've had some good news from Czech. Fx for the second embie.
Good luck for all those with scans tomorrow. Beaky my first is on Thursday but I get the impression the NHS don't scan as often as private?

OP posts:
beakybeak · 23/08/2015 20:38

Ahh Sesame sorry to hear that. I had 2 birth announcements this week but one was shared by everyone in the girls family and it just kept coming up on fb and Instagram. Hope you're ok, lovely. Onwards and upwards for us all eh. Flowers

Thanks Lucie. I'm on day 7, my clinic start stims on day 3 then cetrotide day 7, but I think some others start cetrotide day 6. How many more banking rounds are you thinking of doing?

Happy I usually have baseline, then day 8 which determines how many others between that and ec. Usually I have 3 or 4 I think. How many did you have with your private clinic? I always get a terrible headache when I cut out caffeine, hope you feel better soon.

happylass · 23/08/2015 21:27

Beaky with the private FC it was baseline then scans every other day from about day 5 of stimms until trigger so I think 5 or 6 scans in total. I have my first scan on Thursday and the next won't be until at least the following Tuesday because of the Bank Hol. She did mention me triggering on the Wednesday ready for Friday EC but not sure about that. EC for me both times has been exactly 2 weeks from starting stimms so that means Saturday 5th, which is obviously not an option. Not sure if they'll do it a day early on the Friday as she mentioned or if they'll push me on to the Monday. This is of course assuming that I get that far and I don't completely cock things up with these stupid injections Confused

OP posts:
lucieloos · 23/08/2015 21:37

Sesame, so sorry to hear about the pregnancy announcement it's so hard but hopefully that will be you soon.

Beaky, I'm definitely going to do one more round and see how it goes but ideally I think I would like to do two more if dh is on board. In my mind I would like 5-6 embryos frozen.

Happy, at least you are doing the same sort of protocol as with your private treatment so you know you respond well to it. I'm sure the NHS will go by your scans and decide what's best.

tigerdog · 24/08/2015 07:06

Morning everyone.

barking glad to hear you're home and dry. We were thinking of camping next weekend but think we'll just have a chilled one at home. DH and I rowed about when we'll go on holiday - we had planned for a week in Sept but he has decided to take on an (optional) work commitment so we would have to change it. I wasn't happy as I'd made plans around that week, and it was also perfectly timed for shag week. It turned into a big pointless argument.

sesame sorry to hear about the announcement. It is such a kick in the stomach. Hope you're doing ok.

Make sure you get lots of rest beaky if you're feeling poorly. Good luck with the scan today. Not sure when Mr T will be able to get to the new FC - don't want to wait until the Nov appt so think I'll ring them today and see if they can sort it so he can register and get booked in for a test.

Hope your scan goes well too minx. I think feeling bloated is normal, and I'm sure they'll keep an eye on you to avoid ohss.

It doesn't seem quite right to fit treatment around opening hours and convenience happy, but i guess that's the difference between nhs and private treatment. I'm sure that it will all work out nicely. Hope the mixing is going well!

Good news on the frostie lucie!

spare how are you getting on?

How's things with you nolly?

rain how are you doing? Is it scan today with EC planned for Weds?

I'm feeling a bit fed up. Have put on half a stone wine belly since IVF and need to shift it, but have zero motivation. I was so good for the first 5 months of this year and but I've spectacularly fallen off the wagon. I also hate work, Mr T and I have had some pointless rows this weekend, and I can't bear the thought of our next round of ivf being several months away. Woe is me! Any tips on how to get back my PMA?!

WildflowerMarmalade · 24/08/2015 08:23

Yay! To all the stabbing ladies. There's lots of action on here so looking forward to some good results.

It’s great news that you are getting your frosty collection underway Lucie. I can understand why you would want to avoid moving your frozen embies from one clinic to another. I once saw a couple in the reception of my FC with a big frozen cylinder which must have contained their embryos. They were waiting for a specialist medical transport company to collect it. I don’t think my nerves could stand doing that.

Sorry to hear of all the baby-bombing, Sesame, Beaky. Those announcements are so hard to take.

I'm delighted that you're up and running again Beaky. All those supplements must be doing something. When will you get into your new house - I love a 1930s house. The layout is usually quite generous, whereas anything built after 1980 is usually quite mean on space I reckon.

Which was the fertility recipe on Bake Off Beaky. I missed that one.

Tiger Flowers Sounds like you are in the doldrums - those long waits for treatment to start are really disheartening and leave you with little to focus on. Could you go to visit friends for a day or two in that week in September? It might be a nice distraction. I’m not sure there is a failsafe pick me up when you’re going through all this shiz. How about forgetting the diet for a bit, but getting plenty of exercise instead. You know how exercise can perk you up in spite of yourself. And make MrT be nice to you.

Barking shame your camping holiday didn’t come up to scratch. Sad You deserve a nice break after everything you’ve been through. We are off camping next weekend - now I’m wondering if that is wise!

Happy it is perfectly correct that the 'Starts With the Egg' book advises you stop DHEA when you start stimms. I read online that the follies need whatever DHEA provides in order to grow. So I just fudged the whole issue and cut down to one tablet a day on the first round. On the second round I was taking Dexamethasone which I think works in a similar way to DHEA, so I sort of took one DHEA tab every other day. In other words I totally made it up as I went along. Not very advisable! I hope your headaches are easing - more water can only help and have a cup of tea if that will help.

Spare I was told to take a one month break between cycles, but the nurse said they counted the Norethisterone downreg cycle as the month off. I didn't understand that and so planned in my mind to take a month off, drug free, between cycles one and two. I stuck to that, partly because when they explained I could start the Norethisterone straight away after EC I was still drowsy from the sedation and a bit confused!

Things are fine with me, although I’ve been struggling to keep my head above water a bit with low energy levels. I’ve been reading though and willing you on.

sparechange · 24/08/2015 10:10

Hello berryland
Sorry for the radio silence. We have BIL and SIL to stay for the weekend with their baby and 3 year old. So now we have decided to stay childless forever and ever...

Only joking! We went for my day 2 scan on Saturday, and all looked fine, so I started stabbing on Saturday night. For some reason, I had got it into my head that I would need to start on day 5, so it was a bit of a shock, but I feel glad to have got going again. Back in on Wednesday and Friday this week to check on progress, and will start Cetrotide of day 6.
Still hoping that we will get to hear back on the NHS funding during this round, so we can bank this lot and go straight onto another round, but if we can't, and they want to do a fresh transfer, I think my OTD will be my birthday. Oh the pressure...

Wave to all my fellow cycle buddies!

lucieloos · 24/08/2015 12:48

Spare, glad your scan went well and you have been able to start stabbing!

Wild, glad everything is going ok with you and progressing nicely.

Some more good news from this end. My little compacted morula yesterday has made it to a hatching blast today so we have 2 hatching blasts that can be frozen. They are both grade 2 which means a small amount of fragmentation but still considered high quality. We are over the moon as never ever expected to get both of them. Can't wait to get started again now Grin

beakybeak · 24/08/2015 14:35

OH MY FLIBBERTY GIBBERTY. Had my scan (day 8) and I was all prepared for "no response from the left" again, and to my absolute amazement there are 5 follies! You could have knocked me down without even using a feather. There's a 13, two 12's and a 10 and one under 10, then the right (which is usually the one which has one follie) has one under 10. Berries I cannot tell you how amazed I am. I am not counting my chickens yet but so far for me, that is a pretty good response. I nearly sat up mid dildocam to shout SHUT UP when he said one 10 and two 12. So still hoping for 1 or 2 good quality eggs to make this round work. I definitely feel more optimistic (as you will be able to tell!). Please keep your fingers crossed that nothing goes wrong berries! Eek. Phew.

Anyway, back to catching up, Tiger I'm sorry your having a tough time, I'm going to PM you as I've just written a post that was bigger than the Old Testament and nobody has time for that!

Wild good to hear from you, I hope you get more energy soon, but the twinnies must be zapping it! Hopefully we will get moved in during September. We won't have a kitchen in properly but the bathroom will be at least Smile Enjoy camping!

Lucie great news that you've got two frosties now! And not long really to wait to start again.

Spare great that you've been able to start again, I hope you enjoyed your weekend even with the baby and toddler around! Still keeping my fx for your NHS funding to come round.

Minx good luck for later today at Moustachio Towers!

Hurray! Hurray! Excellent news from Lucie, Beaky and Minx. Nice work ladies. Keep it up. You just never can tell in this game how things are going to go. I'm thrilled for you all. I'm having a pork pie to celebrate.

TheRainDrops · 24/08/2015 15:31

Tiger if only there was a magic switch for getting your PMA back. A bit like minx my best strategy is to focus on the little things - make myself a fancy dinner or go to the cinema or have a bubble bath + some wine etc. Sounds lame but the cumulative effect of lots of little bits of niceness can sometimes shunt you out of the doldrums. As for weight loss, I am still a WW fan! I don't follow it any more but lost nearly 2 stone at the start of the year with it. Chin up, tits out till you feel better Wink

lucie that is great news! When do you start the next go?

beaky AWESOME!!!! You must be so chuffed!! I would have loved it if you had done a proper TOWIE style 'shut aaaahhhpp' to the nurse!! Grin. Go follies, go!

minx was that your first scan? And from just the one ovary? Excellent stuff! Hope they continue to plump up beautifully!!

sesame really sorry about the pg announcement. I haven't had any for a few months now, just waiting for the other shoe to drop....

spare another YBR traveller! Hope you managed to combine stabbing + ILs without too much trouble and that you get better news from the NHS before long.

happy how are you doing? hope it's going OK and that Thursday whizzes round for you.

wild great to hear from you! Hopefully you're going to get a massive influx of berries before too long.

Scan this AM was good. Left now has 6 follies; 14, 15, 15, 18, 19 & 20. Right has 7 follies; 11, 11, 13, 16, 21, 24, 24. Hoping we get a good half dozen out of that lot - all set for EC on weds now, trigger shot at 9.30pm.
Feeling a bit nervous about that one now after beakys smashed ampoule horror story!!!

beakybeak · 25/08/2015 14:21

Thanks berries! I'm still really pleased and hoping for 2 good quality from that. Fx. I'm still amazed though, my afc is only ever 2/3 per side although I hadn't asked on this round.

Minx that's brilliant for one ovary! Well done. You back at MT on Saturday? I am, nice and early Sad so no lie in.

Rain fantastic news for you too, sending lots of berry vibes for a good/easy ec tomorrow! Hopefully you didn't have any issues with your ampoules last night.

Tiger how are you feeling today?

Hope everyone is ok today. I was so annoyed the idiot took MN down again! I hope passwords etc are ok this time.

clementineclouds · 25/08/2015 14:59

its been great to read all the positive news happening on here lately, lets hope it continues Smile .

I'm still in my 2ww, so naff all to report on this side. and I'm not symptom spotting this month....Hmm , well thats nonsense cause I cannot help it...but what I'm not doing it getting my hopes up like last month.
