Hi there sorry for being awol I'm really struggling to keep up now that they have taken the app down.

Beaky, congrats on the ec and fertilisation, brilliant news

Minx, again congrats on the brilliant fertilisation rates. Glad to hear that at least 3 are still going strong and fingers crossed for the little ones behind.

Sesame, sorry you have had a poor response. You are right in saying that I was not happy with my agonist cycle. It was a very poor response for me too and had I known there were only 2 eggs that would be collected I would have cancelled and started again but I got very lucky that they both made it to blast. I won't be trying the agonist again though.

Happy, really sorry you had to cancel I know how hard it is but I think you definitely did the right think. That's brilliant you are able to start again so soon. They made me wait one normal af even though I hadn't had ec.

Smidge, that's an interesting chat you had with the embryologist. If you are keen to do a freeze all cycle would you consider doing another egg collection after that and then get all your embies tested at the same time? At my clinic they take a sample of the cells on day 5 and then they can store the sample so that if you wanted another round then you could get samples taken from those blasts as well and then all sent off together for testing to keep costs down.

Spare, amazing numbers for you!! What protocol did you do and do you have a good amh? Keeping my fingers crossed for good fertilisation!

Clementine, sorry for af but good luck with the next round of clomid.

Not much news from me. Ordered my next batch of meds today and hoping to start in 3 weeks. I have to try and delay af with northisterone as have a hen party that I can't miss. I haven't used them before so hoping it all works out ok.

sparechange · 02/09/2015 19:19

Lucie, my AMH isn't bad - about 12
I was on mild stimulation Antagonist - 8 days of 125 of Gonal F plus cetrotide from day 5 onwards (although I was on 75 of gonal F for the last 2 days to avoid over stimming). They debated Burserrilin vs Ovitrelle for the trigger but ended up going with Ovitrelle this time.
On my last scan, they estimated 10 and the embryologist said that some of the follies were small, so the eggs might be too small to inject but they will let us know tomorrow.
Hoping the PICSI gives us a better fertilisation rate than last time, when it was under 60%

lucieloos · 02/09/2015 19:52

That is amazing that you got that many on mild stimulation! Do you normally collect that many on a normal round or has the mild stimulation worked better for you? We have used picsi with both of our treatments and always had 100% fertilisation so hopefully you should do well with it!

beakybeak · 02/09/2015 20:00

Rain thanks for that, I do feel a bit better today after getting tons of fluids. I couldn't sleep at all last night, I think it was a combo of overthinking and pain! Hopefully ill feel tip top tomorrow. I also lost weight on my last IVF cycle, weird eh! Hope you are feeling ok otherwise, and not too stressed or anything.

Sesame I love that site, there's some really interesting insights from that embryologist. I'm still willing on your ovaries for your next scan, all fingers crossed. And another sneaky hug.

Clem I'm so sorry ad has turned up, it never gets easier eh. Big hug and fx for your next round.

Minx glad you're ok. How's the new job? I would just switch to bum bullet style and explain tomorrow, but I think you'll be ok. if you have a day 5 trf that would be fine anyway. We didn't get an update today anyway, I'm all prepared for tomorrow, fx all goes well for both of us.

Lucie is this next one freeze all too?

Fx for a good fertilisation rate Spare will be checking in tomorrow but in the meantime I've got the pom-poms and sparkly leotard out ignore the massive bloated belly

It's just me and the puppy tonight so cuddles and the bake off on the sofa for us.

lucieloos · 02/09/2015 20:17

Beaky, glad you are feeling a bit better today. Hopefully you will get a bit more sleep tonight. Yes my next cycle will be freeze all as well. I would like to do another again after that but will see how this next one goes and what dh says. I am aiming for 6 blasts ideally so 4 more to go.

SesameSparkle · 02/09/2015 23:24

lucie glad to hear you're getting underway again and have high ambitions for your blasto collection. Out of interest, where do you order your meds from?

spare sounds like they were keeping a very close eye on you. Fingers crossed for a good fertilisation rate.

Thanks beaky Smile a night in with beakypup and bake off sounds lovely - no spoilers mind, I've not seen it yet....! Good luck for transfer tomorrow!

minx good luck for tomorrow too!

Night all.

lucieloos · 03/09/2015 07:52

Sesame, I order my meds from the pharmacy attached to my clinic in Czech. I could have got them from the UK but they were the best price that I found out there and quite a bit cheaper than the UK.

Smidge001 · 03/09/2015 09:39

Well done minx. Couple of extra days to recover can't be a bad thing!
Good luck beaky, I assume you'll get an update today too?

sparechange · 03/09/2015 09:41

Just had the call from the embryologist
Of the 15 they collected, 14 were of the right quality to inject, but only 4 have fertilised Sad
They have provisionally booked me in for a fresh transfer on Saturday afternoon. Looks unlikely we will have anything to freeze from this round.
Massive ballsy balls. I had got my hopes up that our PICSI and vitamins and slightly improved SA would mean we did well on the fertilisation front. This is even worse than last time

lucieloos · 03/09/2015 11:22

Oh no really sorry to hear that spare! Those 4 you have left could all be good ones though so don't give up hope yet you could still get a frostie.

TheRainDrops · 03/09/2015 13:39

Completely understandably frustrating and gutting Spare, after all your efforts but lucie is right, will be keeping everything crossed for 1 perfect transfer candidate and a frosty or 3 for you. Hang in there!

minx is day 5 Monday? I am losing track here! Great news anyway Grin. I properly LOLed at your Cyclogest issue - hopefully you've had your fears allayed on that one! I am slightly envious of your rectal suppositories (never ever did I think I'd write a sentence like that!) - I'm taking Lutigest which definitely DOES have to go 'up the chuff' - THREE times a day. It's just so goopy and messy and ew. I am not even going to tell you what happened in the loos at lunch today cos I don't want to make you all sick but seriously, wtaf Lutigest.

beaky any update from you? Hope the evening on the sofa with the dog was relaxing! Love a bit of GBBO. I struggled to sleep last night too, constipation (another fun progesterone side effect) + kept needing a wee. No fun at all.

clem so sorry this cycle was another BFN. How many more rounds of Clomid have you got?

Sesame are you back to the clinic tomorrow? I hope you're doing OK.

beakybeak · 03/09/2015 14:20

Yo ladybros. Spare sending tons of good vibes to your 4 embies, big hug for the disappointment you've had and all fx for this transfer.

Rain lutigest sounds awful, but then what isn't grim about this process!

Sesame are you at your fc tomorrow? Fx for you.

Minx that's great, good luck for Saturday then! Did you ask them about the accidental up the chuff?

After a terrible night sleep last night where I dreamed I ended up with no embies, I now have two top quality embies on board, which I'm so pleased about and is more than I had expected from my past cycles, I had a really interesting chat with the embryologist as there were 4 still going but as they've monitored them with the embryoscope they have been able to single out the other two that look good but haven't developed in the expected way so far. So all fingers crossed over here.

SesameSparkle · 03/09/2015 15:02

spare bollocks to the fertilisation rate! Flowers But 4 embryos still gives you a fighting chance, and fingers crossed there’ll be a strong one in there.

beaky yay to the twin beakryos on board and 2 more still going in the lab!

minx, great to hear you’ve still got some good embryos still going strong and you’re going to keep going to day 5! Fingers crossed for a lovely blast.

Thanks lucie, interesting that you’re ordering direct from Czech to get the best prices for meds.

rain lutigest sounds nasty. I’ve only ever tried the fanny candles, which I took a funny reaction too, and HCG injections which are much cleaner but give you more menkul as it doesn’t feel like you’re doing much to help.

Yes, back at the clinic tomorrow. Absolutely sod all symptoms of anything right now so not really convinced I’ve got much going on. But we shall see.

sparechange · 03/09/2015 15:57

I just phoned the embryologist back because I was having a panic.
He said he is confident we will have 2 to put back on Saturday, but there isn't going to be anything to freeze Sad

What is it they say about eggs and baskets..?

tigerdog · 03/09/2015 18:43

Ladybros!!

Lots has been happening, I'm a bit out of touch.

beaky amazing that you've got two top quality embies on board! Will be doing the mother of all cheerleading routines between now and your OTD. Come on beakyros!

minx excellent news that you'll be doing a 5 day transfer. I laughed out loud at the whole 'up the chuff' story, funniest moment of my otherwise crap week to date! rain you also had me in stitches just now, you ladies are hilarious! I was also bunged up during IVF. Drinking a lot of water helped. The grimness is just beyond a joke!

spare I know that it can feel so disappointing when things don't seem to be going as well as they should but you are still firmly in the game. Flowers

Good luck tomorrow Sesame. Fingers crossed for some action.

clem af never gets any less disappointing does it?! Fingers crossed for the next cycle.

smidge any closer to a decision?

nolly any progress with you?

Sorry I haven't been around much, I have had naff all energy after work and am generally raging at the arrival of af today.

Am booked in for an ORT (think this is an antral folicle count?) and a redo of all my bloods including AMH on Monday morning so that is some progress of sorts. Notes are being requested from old FC and will ring for check for cancellations tomorrow, although I'm not expecting to have much luck.

Have a completely child filled weekend ahead - friends staying with their three year old and then a christening on Sunday. It will all be lovely but the sadness will also be there, seeing all my best friends with their lovely families. Sigh.

On the train home at the moment and can't wait to see Mr T. I need a proper big strong arms cuddle!

barkingtreefrog · 03/09/2015 22:42

Still struggling to keep up without the app - I can't go backwards and forwards when I'm on the mobile website! I'm now reading the thread on my nexus in bed while replying on my phone!

rain hope the return to work hasn't been too bad. Is it less than a week until otd now?

kuma hope everything goes okay for a natural cycle this month.

How are you doing today sesame?

Clem 3 is my lucky number, fx this is your lucky cycle.

minx nope, I don't like hanging around! Once the decision is made things need to start moving...
Cyclogest can go up either way Wink

Lucie why do you need to delay AF? Would you otherwise need to be at a scan during the hen party?

Ooo, beaky, PUPO x2!! Grin

Spare It only takes one good embryo to get your win Flowers

tiger sending Cake to get you through the weekend.

beakybeak · 03/09/2015 22:45

Sesame thanks and good luck for tomorrow, I hope there's some growth there.

Tiger thanks, loving your pom-poms! Sorry again has turned up, that's rubbish. Flowers Good that you're booked in for your bloods etc next week, I hope they come up with a cancellation for you. I love a big strong squeezy cuddle! Hope you're all tucked up at home with MrT and Tigerpup. Lots of berry strength coming your way for this weekend. It will happen for you, lovely. Fx very soon, but in the meantime Wine for you.

Spare I hope you're feeling a bit better tonight, I'm crossing everything for you.

lucieloos · 04/09/2015 07:37

Tiger, I also have a christening this weekend so know how you feel!

Barking, I would be due to go out to Czech for ec at the time of the hen party if I don't delay af.

Good luck for everyone having scans or results today.

beakybeak · 04/09/2015 10:37

Sesame how did your scan go?

sparechange · 04/09/2015 11:18

tiger
Any cancellation joy today?

sesame How did the scan go?

The embryologist just called again. 3 embies are looking good and 1 is lagging behind but still ok. They've moved my transfer forward to 10am tomorrow, and have confirmed I'll get 2 of the Grade 1 passengers on board my womble. The leftover will be taken to day 5 and then frozen if it makes it.

Would it be insane to ask them to put one of the Grade 1s and the lagging one back? So that there are 2 good ones to freeze? My logical head is saying that if it isn't good, don't put it back, but my heart is saying it deserves a 'chance' and then that gives us 2 frosties

mmmminx · 04/09/2015 11:47

beakybeak · 04/09/2015 12:33

Spare definitely ask, just because it's behind now doesn't mean it will stay that way, but also if they say no it may improve over the next couple of days sufficiently enough to freeze it. Fx for you.

Minx the embryologist will come and chat to you about each of your embies and explain their opinion on each one, hopefully all 4 will be fantastic blasts and you can transfer two and freeze two. Our clinic have quite high freezing standards but for that reason they have said they will transfer ones that aren't up to freezing standard but are good enough to transfer. So use that as well! I'm fine thanks, just trying to be positive and not miserable! (The hormones are not helping with this!)

Tiger any luck with the clinic?

Rain how are you? Hope you're managing with the lutigest ok!

sparechange · 04/09/2015 12:47

minx
I phoned them to see what they thought, and they said they would check them again in the morning, because it can change over night. My 'lagger' is ok, just has a bit of fragmentation. It could be ok by tomorrow, but we can discuss it with the embryologist before the transfer. I think it is is potentially freezeable, we will put two of the grade one's on board. If it isn't, I'll ask for one top one and the lagger.

Fingers crossed yours are all looking good. What time is your transfer?

SesameSparkle · 04/09/2015 16:45

tiger sorry about the manic work week and af, but we’re in the home straight towards the weekend now, and hopefully there'll be some child free chill time.

lucie sorry about the christening, but hope you’ll get to relax the rest of the weekend.

barking hope you’re doing ok and getting ready for your testing? Is it Monday you’re back at the fc? And did you say you are triathloning this weekend?

spare talking it all through with the embryologist does sound the best approach. I would also ask, do they definitely have to wait for day 5 to freeze, or can they do it on day 3? I’m not sure if it helps to have more options, but it might also be technically possible to transfer one on day 3 and the second one on day 5, depending on how the rest develop.

minx how are you feeling about ET tomorrow? If you really want 2 back and have thought through the implications than I think you can push for it. They can also explain the fc’s success rates to you of 2 fresh embryos, compared with a 1 fresh then 1 frozen –they shouldn’t differ by that much.

rain how are you feeling? When is OTD and do you plan to wait till then to test?

beaky thanks for checking on me, how are you feeling? Hope Mr B and beakypup are looking after you and the womb room full of beakryos. When’s OTD?

Not good news from me today, I had my scan and there’s not a lot happening and the fc recommends cancelling. Sad I asked them if I can keep going a few more days and they’ve agreed to let me. So I guess for now I get to stay in denial, at least until Monday, and we'll see what that brings.

We’re on last page of this thread, do we need happy to gear up to start a new one?
