Aren't the babies usually bigger if you have gd?

Maybe they will be able to induce you slightly earlier? That way you could still have the experience?

How's ur DS been today Ducky?

He was ok last night, only 2/3 wake ups for his dummy so I have just brought a sleepytot in the hope it will stop him lobbing it out his cot and he can grab it and put it back himself

But he was sneezing this morning and by this evening his nose was streaming but, touch wood his chest is ok which is really really good news! He's woke up twice so far but I bet he will wake up loads as he's poorly and he went to sleep at 6

My DS woke at 4:45am so not too bad but still not perfect. He's fallen asleep at 8:45 tonight! Last night it was about 10pm I think. So we will see when he wakes up

I hope ur DS isn't getting ill bless him! :(

Oh cupcake he's so poorly now I he kept waking up so I went to the shops about an hour ago to get him some nose drops and apparently he woke up as soon as I left and was just crying for me. He settled when I got back and held him.

I got him a nasal aspiratior which he hates but I managed to get a bit out and they only had calpol nasal spray which I got but he was hysterical with that and I got him some snuffle babe vapour rub which has helped a bit. He's still awake and I can't put him down or give him to h as he starts crying. I have raised his cot at one end hoping it will help

It's heart breaking seeing him like this, he's never been like this before so I think I'm panicking. Usually it's his chest but this is just his nose completely snotty

Oh and did you look up sleepytots? They look really good I bet it helps with dummy weaning too!

I promise u after he turns one he won't get ill very much! Honest!
I like snuffle babe, I've got that for DS and the nasel sprays are awful but they are very good!
N don't worry , he's probably crying loads as it's frustrating not to be able to breath from his nose.

Oh yes! DS and me are off to see his nursery this morning! I get to stay with him today.
He's just waking up now, in his own bed!!!!!
he's not woke up once since falling asleep at 8:45pm! I'm very shocked!

That's ace news about ds hopefully now he will start getting better

I keep reading up about gestational diabetes and it's awful :( it mentions risks of still birth and baby maybe being unwell when born and having to go to
Neonatal unit. :( it says once baby is born it will have its blood sugars tested 2-4 hours after birth and if he has low sugars he'll be sent straight to neonatal.
I'm already very anxious about the baby because of the miscarriages and this is making me feel worse :s
Everything I've gone through just to have this baby and him being alive and well, I don't want this to ruin it.

Don't google it cupcake, you will only find out the worse situations. Is it today you see the midwife? If your not 100% happy with your care you can always demand more monitoring etc. don't leave until you have your care plan and are completely happy with it. If your baby does need to go to neonatal just remember he will be getting the best possible care. Ds was in special care straight after birth and the staff were really lovely in there. Although ds was in a room with a premmie and he look gigantic in comparison!

I'm not sure if ds has a cold or is teething I read if the snot is clear it is probably teething. It looks clear but when it was dried on his nose when he woke up it looked normal snot colour. I hope he gets teeth soon! It seems like he's late with them but I read cmpi babies usually are as they don't get as much calcium as normal babies

It has took me forever to log into mumsnet!

The hospital appt wasn't too bad tbh. I can eat most things buts have to have a really small portion. I have a blood sugar monitor where I prick my finger, have to do it 6 times a day!!!!! Back on Monday for a scan to check the growth of baby! Then every Wednesday I have to attend a diabetic clinic to check on my blood sugar levels, if they don't come down I will have to go on tablets to control it.

Oo yeah it Deffo could be teething Ducky! How's he feeling now?

Did you see the post cupcake someone hacked mn and was sending armed police to people's house by making phone calls saying they heard gun shots. It's in active threads. You have to change your passwords. Scary stuff.

6 times a day?! I would be useless with doing that did they say anything further about induction/c sec? Or will they know more after the scan?

Ds has been such a grump today he's had 10 bottles aswell I gave him calpol too but it made no difference. I feel so sorry for him and I'm exhausted. He wouldn't be put down and won't go in his sling.

Aww bless him Ducky! Have u tried some teething gel just to see? I hope he sleeps well tonight, sounds like u both need it!

I didn't try teething gel as it hasn't really made a difference in the past he's been in bed over an hour and not woke so far. But I have noticed a pattern, we get false alarms on his monitor when he sleeps well then that terrifies me so I can't sleep after. It's always at 3/4 am though! Fingers crossed he sleeps ok and his alarm behaves! Don't know if my heart can take any more!

I've just seen the thread! They sound like they scared a lot of people doing what they did!

Gel didn't rele have much of an effect on DS either. I tried the powder and he would always choke on it and make himself sick! no idea why he used to do that!

And how strange about his monitor! When he's asleep well he must go into a very deep sleep.
DS is also asleep atm too, since 9pm. Will see how tonight goes for him!

I've also decided to go on maternity leave the end of this week. Thursday will be my last day. Speaking to my manager tomorrow about it. Now I've got extra appointments and scans I'm having even more time off work so for financial reasons id be better off just going on mat leave now :/ I rele hope my managers okay with that!

Your allowed time off for your appointments though cupcake but from the sounds of it (the extra monitoring/spd/ds) it sounds like it may be a good plan. Is your boss nice about it all.

I'm worried now as ds hasn't woken up once I keep checking on him! I know babies are meant to sleep through at his age but when you have one that doesn't sleep it's worrying and I'm getting anxious about his alarm going off and scaring me!

Because of my contract I'm not paid if I don't attend work, even for appointments. So for me id loose money. But ur right, DS is also starting nursery session and so I've also got that going on trying to settle him in, tons of appts at hospital and yes my spd! Which is bad as I can hardly walk far anymore so tbh, I think I need maternity leave!

Well, the wedding was lovely. Small but lovely. SIL looked great. The pair of them were so happy.

DS was 'lively'. He sat on DH's knee. He sat quietly at first but then started chattering loudly 'uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk' and 'aaaaaaaaaaaak' which are his favourite noises. DH tried distracting him with his Oleg grub which he grabbed and flung sideways and it hit SIL on the leg. He wanted to be on the floor and DH stood him up on his knee and he waved at people behind us and smiled his little toothy, gummy smile. Then we gave him DH's phone- turned off- because he loves a phone and he chewed happily on that. I was glad when it was over TBH. Although he was just the same at the Reception- fortunately SIL and BIL think he is the bees knees which is just as well because his Oleg grub was a big part of the meal! And when FIL made his speech, DS shouted 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak' ' and held his arms out and then cried when FIL did not pick him up. DH consoled him with a piece of chocolate! He has never had chocolate before and his little race lit up when he tasted it.

We have been to Morecambe Bay today- amazing place. This is him with his toes in the sand.

Yes I knew thanks. I changed it yesterday twice Ducky. I did not use it for anything else and the email account is one I set up just for this so hopefully am OK.
