So, I'm desperately trying not to get my hopes up, but after getting peak on the Cbfm and a strong +OPK with the cheapo strips on Friday (which then went negative the next day and has stayed thus today), and then this morning seeing what appears to be a temperature shift (although it's possible I just closed my lips around the thermometer a bit more tightly I suppose!), I'm wondering if maybe, just maybe, those weren't false positive OPKs...

I'm almost certainly trying to symptom spot, but I had a bit of a crampy feeling yesterday and (TMI!) ridiculously tender nipples today, which I read CAN happen immediately after ovulation due to the rise in progesterone - although it could well also be not wearing a bra under my top cos it was too bloody hot and with my tiny chest there's not a lot of boulder to hold haha

I'm reserving judgement until I see whether my temps stay high, and if AF shows up in a couple of weeks. We tried our best to catch the hypothetical egg once I got surprise notice it might be on its way - though not expecting anything given
a) we only DTD on the day of the surge and the day after, as there was no indication of any fertile period in the run up (although these 2 days are the most important I guess!)
b) I hardly had any CM AFAIK
c) even if a sperm did meet an egg, my lining was really thin on the scan I had on CD 11 (if I O'd yesterday that was CD20) - which I'm guessing wouldn't do much to help implantation

Seeing the consultant on Weds about my 'hey your fertility has fallen off a cliff and all your eggs have dried up overnight' fertility MOT scan results. So we'll see.

If I did O then I'd love to think maybe the soy isoflavones did their thing. Although judging by what I've heard here from some of you it's more likely if it did happen, it would have been more likely due to rebound fertility after coming straight off the pill. Trying not to get excited about possibly having a natural AF (not letting myself get excited about a BFP!)

Bloody hell, I do ramble on don't I?!!

soontobemrslizzy · 05/07/2015 21:21

Banana, I'm hoping for you! A temperature spike is good! Although admittedly I'm very new to temping, but it sounds promising. I'll have my fingers crossed for you! It is so hard not to symptom spot, I don't know how I'll hold out for two more weeks!

Cobblestones · 06/07/2015 03:05

Hi all. Been away for so long! Had so much to catch up on.

lizzy all the best with the house purchase.

banana fx it was ovulation! And one can always hope for the best despite all odds!

abfab congrats on the cutest little bean ever :) any morning sickness yet?

rosebud I'm so glad your follow up scan was clear. When do you start on the 150?

Not sure who asked about the leg raised thing after dtd - I do that too. It's funny each time and so not sexy haha

mistletoe you must be close to your POAS day. When do you intend to?

I poas'd on net cheapies cd 26, 27. BFN. Still hoping theres a chance... Really really want this month to be my month.. Ive imagined a second line on a preg test on countless occasions. I just want to see a real one now

Dollface136 · 06/07/2015 09:43

Hi guys, was at Wimbledon for the weekend so finally managed to take my mind off ttc for a day! But I'm back on it today boo.

banana fx for you, it sounds really positive that you did ov!

ginfzz sorry you seem to be on a longer cycle again, it's infuriating isn't it because we start the first 21 days so hopeful every time.

I was having a really good temp cycle until today when all of a sudden my temp dropped through the floor. Like wtf? Am I dead or something? Why has it dropped so dramatically on CD 15? Has anyone who temps had that before?

I have my day 21 blood test this weekend coming, and then I'm off on holiday for a week so I got myself a gorgeous white swimsuit to tempt AF for a visit haha.

soontobemrslizzy · 06/07/2015 11:19

Dollface, maybe it is the pre-ovulation dip? Mine went down to 36.1 on ov day, then back up to 36.61 for the next two days?

Dollface136 · 06/07/2015 12:09

Thanks soontobe I hope it's something like that. I am absolutely dreading going back to my GP at the end of the month for more test results and was hoping by some miracle I might be normal just for a month! My GP is not sympathetic at all and despite referring me for test after test wants me to wait a year before she gives me treatment. She has this 1 year in her head despite me asking what the point in waiting is if it is proven I am not ovulating.

I've made an appointment with another doctor at the surgery for my results this time ( a man) hoping he will be a bit more logical about it and at least refer me to a specialist even if he cannot prescribe anything.

Am going to dtd tonight just in case temps shoot up tomorrow so we shall see. Just can't believe it dropped by 0.7 degrees!

mistletoeprickles · 06/07/2015 12:22

Hi all

I need to have a proper catch up but a bit short on time (what's new there)

cobble I only ovulated last Monday so at least another week yet. After last month's chemical I don't want to be testing early and risk it happening again

soontobemrslizzy · 06/07/2015 13:47

Dollface, is it worth switching surgery? I don't know about you but I'm American so I often find the NHS really annoying in that you have to press really hard to get tests, etc. I'd been to the doctor about my irregular periods a number of times and they always said 'its fine, you're young, it's stress,' and only did a test when I instituted. If you switch surgery to one who is more sympathetic that might work?

battenberg123 · 06/07/2015 14:25

Hi Everyone!
Pulledapart sorry I forgot to say welcome! Hopefully Rosebud can add you to the stats when she returns from her exotic holiday! It's so hard not to get stressed about the whole thing isn't it Sad

shell are you still spotting? Must be so confusing not knowing what's going on?

Lizzy good luck with the house! I love Scotland only been to Edinburgh but it's definitely one of my favourite places I've ever been to.

banana Good luck with your results, hope they are more helpful than last time.

I'm going to collect all my results from my doctors today which includes 3 months of blood test results and my ultrasound scan results, so I can show them to the gynaecologist on Weds. Is it bad that I'm looking forward to getting the sheets of paper and obsessing over them until I go blue in the face! Blush

Dollface136 · 06/07/2015 15:28

Yeah lizzy you do have to push hard to get anything done. I am going to see if the other GP is any better (as it is conveniently located for work) but if no then I will register with a new surgery and take it from there. My DH has offered to pay for us to go private for chlomid if need be so I was also looking at the London Women's Clinic.

Good luck with the gyne battenberg. Did your GP refer you? I totally hear you with obsessing over the results, I have looked at my day 4 blood test results nearly daily haha!

battenberg123 · 06/07/2015 15:49

Dollface my GP did refer me yes, I am quite lucky as they have been very supportive in everything I've asked for.

I'm glad it's not just me that obsesses haha! I don't know what I hope to gain from looking at them!

ShortyK · 06/07/2015 17:49

Hi all,

Hope everyone is well. I'm cd 9 at the mo. I've taken advice from this thread and taken clomid at night so not really noticed too many side effects. Not sure if it's the clomid or metformin but my appetite seems slightly suppressed which is a blessing! Going to get down to dtd from tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice on how often to dtd? Up until now we've been dtd every other day (except on af) but wondering whether to do it every day around suspected ovulation? I don't temp but bought loads of opks. I know they can be inaccurate for pcos sufferers but I guess they can still be used as a guide...

I have a scan on Wednesday so hopefully it will give me an idea of whether or not it's working. Nervously excited! Smile

How is everyone else?

Shellbell0403 · 06/07/2015 18:35

Hi everyone!!

Welcome pulledapart!!

Well the spotting stopped on sat afternoon... Got horrible pains on my right side though... Had abit of ewcm today... dtd fri and sat... Will try and hint for it tonight.. Haha!
Don't know if I'm ovulating or not!!

Battenburg and chandlierswing how's it going?? Good luck with the gynaecologist battenburg!

Dollface will the Dr not give you clomid??

What's everyone's thoughts on metformin?? I was contemplating going to my dr and asking him to put me on it.. But then don't know whether I should go back to doc and ask?!

Saw my friends scan pic today and started crying... So happy for her bit so upset at the same time...
Sorry for the wee moan... No one else really understands

Xxx

MorganLeFey · 06/07/2015 20:49

Hello All! I've been lurking for a while but thought it's time to de-lurk...

I am a PCOSer although (touchwood) seem to ovulate regularly although have long cycles (35-37 days) & have conceived 4 times in 6 cycles trying although miscarried 3 of those - 1 blighted ovum and 2 heartbeats stopped after 8/40 & we know the last one was genetically normal so that wasn't a reason for the miscarriage...

I'm on the recurrent miscarriage thread too and the pregnant on pred one as I've just found out although my NK count is normal they're highly active so it might be an autoimmune cause for my miscarriages...

But I've also been doing lots of reading about PCOS increasing risk of miscarriage. I've gained about 2.5 stone in the last year since the first miscarriage which won't be helping this for next time! Although even when my BMI is normal have a long cycle length & had pco on an early preg scan in my first successful pregnancy with my DD - so I don't know how relevant the weight thing is... But as part of my TTC (then not miscarry again!) regime I'm on metformin then progesterone if I get a BFP to try & balance the hormones - both prescribed privately although I've had the scan/day 2 bloods in an NHS clinic it's a 3.5month wait for the follow up appointment! Metformin is the most disgusting/bitter pill I've ever tasted & made me vomit initially but am persevering...

PontyGirl · 06/07/2015 22:00

hi everyone!

hi Morgan, sorry you've had such a shit time of it! hopefully the metformin etc will help, though I've heard from other ladies that it's hard to be on but it just may well be worth it Thanks fx for you! Wine in the meantime, it sounds well-deserved.

bananafish81 · 07/07/2015 08:49

Hello ladies, hope your weeks are going OK, thinking of you all. Nervous about seeing my consultant tomorrow to break the news of my scary fertility mot scan - massively hoping he discounts it as misleading cos just come off the pill and not 'Oh shit what's happened'. On the plus side my temps have been up for three days so Fertility Friend reckons I did indeed O on CD20 and I'm now 3DPO. Will deffo be taking the Soy isoflavones next cycle just in case they had anything at all to do with me laying an egg!

battenberg123 · 07/07/2015 09:33

Welcome Morgan, sorry to hear about all your losses that must be really tough - you sound very resilient and positive though!

Shell it's understandable to be upset, I think everyone feels it at one point or another. Even though you want to be happy for people! At least the spotting has stopped that's good!

Banana fingers crossed that it is ovulation for you!

I think I may have been missing ov all together (if I do even ovulate) as I may ovulate day 17/18/19 and didn't realise until now! oops!

bananafish81 · 07/07/2015 09:53

And welcome to Morgan. So sorry to hear of your losses - it's a wonderful group of women here and hope we can all support each other through the long and winding road of ttc x

MorganLeFey · 07/07/2015 10:11

Pontygirl Thank you - avoiding wine after some article I read about fertility, damnit! Wink

Battenberg Thank you - I have been a bit of a mess (which the 2.5 stone gain in a year probably demonstrates... Blush ) but hoping to get back on track now I feel more positive.

Bananafish Thank you. Think I need to try & find as many places for support as possible right now..!

Really irregular cycles sound like a nightmare, I'm lucky mine are touchwood relatively regular although being long is frustrating when TTC! Also not sure this month if metformin is going to have any impact/shorten my cycle as period had seemed a bit weird... So lucky (!) DH may be called upon more frequently than usual for a more scattergun approach to trying to catch an egg! How romantic...

Rufus200 · 07/07/2015 15:33

inofolic.org.uk

I just had this website come up in my newsfeed. There is a company selling Inositol as a treatment for PCOS! Website has lots of info about it for anyone not taking Inositol yet.

ckd10 · 07/07/2015 18:26

Hey all, just thought I'd have a look.on here for some inspiration, I've got a 2 yr old princess from chlomid, tried it again last year, didn't work, I'm taking soya isoflavones now and my periods have become more regular, I'm getting panicky because I will be 36 in march, oh dear god someone help!!! Confused

RoseBud2015 · 07/07/2015 18:50

Hi lovelies,

I don't have any news as I'm not starting 150mg clomid until after my hols, but we leave for our holiday shortly so I wont be able to catch up for a month Grin. I just wanted to wish you all lots of luck in the month ahead and I really hope that when I get back there are some more BFPs to add to the stats.

I would be really grateful if any changes/additions to the stats could be highlighted in your posts with:

to make it easier for me to find the information to update the stats when I get back.

Lots of love and best wishes for you all in the month ahead. Have a fab July all! xxx

What's everyone's thoughts/advice on metformin? Contemplating going and asking my Gp for the tabs instead of waiting until the hospital xx

IsItIorAreTheOthersCrazy · 07/07/2015 21:04

WARNING - this is going to be a mammoth post!

Rosebud if you haven't disappeared yet, have a bloody lovely time on holiday and don't even think about ttc. I can vouch for a good break doing you the world of good!

bananafish good luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed for good news Flowers

battenburg sorry AF got you. Have you got your blood test results etc from the Gp? Do they show anything pattern-like?

dollface I would definitely recommend seeing a different Dr - I know the first gp I spoke to was rubbish but the second one agreed waiting a year was a waste of time and sent a referral off straight away, which is lucky because an appointment with the consultant took ages!

mistletoe fingers crossed for you again this cycle. I think not testing until later is a good idea. I would say relax but I know that's not possible in these circumstances.

gin how annoying for you, just when you feel like it's getting under control. Our bodies are cruel things sometimes!

Welcome to all the newbies Smile

We seem to be becoming quite a big group now. I really enjoy having this thread to add to and get my thoughts out on.

Me - my body is being rubbish, although this is largely self inflicted. I stopped meds before my holiday to have a break as my cycle was just long and I didn't ov. Unfortunately I also ran out of metformin but decided to go without as part of my break. Also, after pretty much no alcohol for a year, I got drunk twice of the weekend and again yesterday although I am a lightweight and 2 cocktails resulted in DH putting me to bed
I am now taking norothorine (I think it's called) to bring on AF, although have another week before that's likely, then 150mg clomid to try. And I've restarted my supplements (seven seas trying for a baby) and metformin. Even the slow release version is upsetting my stomach. I'm only on 1000mg per day which is a half dose. So everything is generally kicking my arse at the moment.
HOWEVER - the likely ov dates coincide with me and DH being on a mini break and I found out I got a promotion today so I feel on a high. Onwards and upwards and all that!

Quick question - why do people rave about pre-seed? I am confused by it.
Do you use it even if lube isn't usually needed? (Sorry for tmi question)

IsItIorAreTheOthersCrazy · 07/07/2015 21:16

shellbell are you an overweight or lean pcos-er? My understanding is it doesn't help unless you are overweight.
I have a high BMI and before diagnosis and treatments, my cycles were generally 120 days long as a minimum (although I went 10 months with no period once, then a 1 day bleed, then another 6 months of nothing).
Losing some weight resulted in 70-80 day cycles and 3 months of metformin resulted in 6 in a row 40 day cycles. Clomid then made them shorter.
It also helped with my diet - on it I noticed I drank more water and craved less sugar (I'm a bugger for being shaky and needing a chocolate bar mid-afternoon) and it just made the whole diet thing feel easier.

I would def speak to gp about it but I know mine never mentioned it. It was the first thing out of the mouth of the consultant on our first appointment though Grin
