Doomkitty and Kate, you're both mere youngsters!! I'm 44 later this year and DP is 47 just after out wedding in September so I feel positively granny-like!!

Red193 · 12/06/2015 09:32

Thanks Doom!

I'm gonna make more use of him I think! I'm 27 and will be 28 in 12 days or due date!! Hopefully this will be a very happy birthday!!

Red193 · 12/06/2015 09:33

Thanks fuzzy!

doomkittycleo · 12/06/2015 12:14

You think I'm an expert on temping lol but I don't actually temp. Find it too stressful and think the thermometer beeping would disturb my DP as I wake up at 6:30 most days.

KateR1980 · 12/06/2015 12:26

Nah, you're still a spring chicken Remember!!

fuzzywuzzy · 12/06/2015 12:36

I'm 37 (keep thinking I'm 38), on of my closest friends had her first baby at 40 and second at 42.

my mum accidentally got pregnant in her mid 40's as did a friends mum.

I don't think 40's is old in terms of having a baby, certainly can get pregnant during the peri-menopause as well, I used to work with a girl who's closest sibling in age was about 20 years older than her, her mum thought she was going thro 'the change' when she was expecting her and didn't realise she was pregnant till very late on in the pregnancy.

All personal anecdotes obviously but I'm trying not to let the age thing get to me.

doomkittycleo · 12/06/2015 12:37

I learned everything I know from this book
Toni Welcher, taking charge of your fertility
It tells you everything you need to know.

fuzzywuzzy · 12/06/2015 12:48

doom I have heard rave reviews about that book.

DianaOstara · 12/06/2015 14:19

That's the book I've been reading doom! Although ive read lots of threads and kinda had an idea the book has really helped me to pull all of that knowledge together. I have been temping but with a very dodgy ear thermometer - first on my next post-af shopping spree is a new one! Also on the shopping list for next time is ic ov tests - I'm really trying to get to know my own cycle but I've had loads of ewcm, open cervix and now slight bleeding (possible ov bleeding) but still had flashing smiley this-morning. Digital OPKs are making me doubt my own body which then adds greater stress to dtd as I keep telling DH we need to 'do it NOW!' Then opk tells me otherwise!

red as well as being cycle buddies I think we may share a birthday! I'm going to be 33...

I had a real f*#k this day yesterday and have booked a camping trip for August and a mini-break to Copenhagen in February! I need to focus on something other than ttc to keep me sane (i.e. have another topic to endlessly Google search!).

How are you diamond? Are you close to testing? Hope you've got something distracting and indulgent planned for tomorrow

findingmyfeet12 · 12/06/2015 15:48

A friend of mine had both of her children in her forties.

I'm hopeful we'll all get our bfps.

diamondsparkles · 12/06/2015 17:25

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all okay.
Thanks for asking diana - yes going out for lunch then a few drinks tomorrow night to distract me from the anniversary. Af is due tomorrow, bfn here on a first response today and they are super sensitive so that's me out, my miracle of a bfp tomorrow not going to happen unfortunately SadSad

I felt what I thought were mild cramps today. It's cd15 so perhaps it means ovulation?

I'm cleaning the house for distraction, planning holidays sounds far more exciting!!

Red193 · 13/06/2015 06:25

Diana - my birthday is June 24.

Diamond - thinking of you but stay positive

DianaOstara · 13/06/2015 07:13

Birthday buddies red!

Another fricking flashing smiley Sad really getting fed up now. I'm CD17 and have been getting them since CD12. Ewcm felt like it had dried up yesterday evening and I had quite a lot of bleeding after dtd. All combined to make me feel pretty demoralised this morning.

Plans for today - going for a run in a short while; children's birthday party; family walk whatever the weather; food shopping then a relaxing evening in and dtd in the hope of solid smiley tomorrow.

kate I may fit some distraction cleaning in there too!

Have a good weekend everyone xx

Red193 · 13/06/2015 08:35

Diana - I'm off to Brussels for the day on my birthday. I love Belgian cherry wheat beer so no idea if I will be able to indulge.

I'm off to collect my foo fighters tickets from my in laws shortly and debating having my nails done as well. Off out for drinks with his sister tonight. So glad I am on antibiotics and have a reason for not drinking!

Is anyone due a BFP this weekend?

KateR1980 · 13/06/2015 08:38

I'm due to test on Tuesday but may give in tomorrow.

Oohh, Foo Fighters - I'm so jealous! They are awesome!

diamondsparkles · 13/06/2015 09:34

Morning everyone Smile
Thanks red, that's lovely of you. Brussels sounds good, I'd love to go. Foo fighters too - you've got lots going on!
So af due today but hasn't shown up yet, still plenty of time though. Another bfn, I don't know why I do it to myself Sad
kate - exciting! Fingers crossed!
diana - how frustrating about the flashing smilies- the first month I did that I think I had 7 days of flashing before fixed so I know what you're going through - it's a pain.
mayo - any news on testing?

Hi everyone, sorry for the radio silence but I've been lurking. I want you to know I've got your backs, I'm rooting so much for all of you!

diamond, happy anniversary! I promised FlowersCakeWine but on mumsnet that makes a shitty party, so I will be your DJ today!

Ok, so everyone promise me that at least once today you'll get up and have a dance-off (doesn't have to be to any of this music), me included! Also, DJ requests are welcomed :)

finding that could very well be ov pains, fingers crossed!
diana sorry to hear about those smiles, it really sucks. And the bleeding, is that normal?
red when are you seeing foofighters? Jealous about your Brussels trip, that's exciting!
