Thanks, fuzzy I'll get some of that today. Has anyone had any success with baby aspirin or pineapple after ovulation too?

fuzzywuzzy · 09/06/2015 08:58

it's meant to be the pineapple core, but it contains a chemical which also causes uterine contractions (which is why women who are overdue eat it), I would steer clear of taking anything that we're told to take to induce labour after ov.

I usually take Starflower oil (1000mg) up till ov, I stopped that for a while, and my periods went mad and when I started taking it again my first ov was much later than normal, altho I did have a pregnancy that month (which turned out to be the chemical pregnancy Sad).

I also take folic acid and Vitamin D (vitamin D has been perscribed for me).

Then this month I read that honey and cinnamon help get pregnant (I'm quite willing to try it), so I'm taking a half teaspoon of honey sprinkled with cinnamon from CD1 (this actually also helps regulate periods), also started taking royal jelly (400mg) as I am so wound up and stressed over ttc, it is supposed to help with stress and also depression and contains vitamin B6.

I'm not taking anything else otherwise I will rattle.

Will report back as to how I get on.

findingmyfeet12 · 09/06/2015 09:15

I've been eating pineapple like it's going out of fashion. I think I might stop eating it now.

I'm definitely going to try honey and cinnamon though.

Lovelyjubbly95 · 09/06/2015 17:41

Fuzzywuzzy ill remember that b6 tip!

findingmyfeet12 · 09/06/2015 18:55

Birchy, I've just seen your post Flowers

Hope you feel better soon.

I'm pretty down about this cycle. I don't know if I'm obsessing over nothing but I've had a terrible chesty cough for a couple of weeks. I feel as though my whole body convulses when I cough and I'm convinced it'll prevent conception. I'm eating cough sweets to keep it at bay but not having much luck.

Feel free to tell me I sound like a mad person.

fuzzywuzzy · 09/06/2015 18:58

When are you due to test finding? Sorry you're feeling unwell, the honey and cinnamon should help with cough if anything.

Hope you get your bfp soon. Coughing won't prevent it.

findingmyfeet12 · 09/06/2015 19:06

I'm due to test at the end of the month. I hope you're right about the coughing.

diamondsparkles · 09/06/2015 20:17

birchy - so sorry to hear of af arriving, lots of Flowers for you. I know nothing will make it seem better so look after yourself. I take it really hard too and feel so bad with the disappointment. Stay on this thread, we're here to listen.
mayo - how are you doing?
finding - sorry to hear you're feeling down too. You're not mad at all but coughing won't prevent conception, everything is all well cushioned in there so anything we're doing won't affect it. Hope you feel better soon.
Is anyone testing soon? Smile
haquoi - scan day tomorrow Grin, how are you feeling lovely?

Red193 · 09/06/2015 20:29

Hello lovely ladies! I'm cycle day 13 and did an ovulation test today but not showing anything at all. Not even a faint line. Worried I am not going to ovulate this month. I don't think I have ovulated early but have managed to DTD every day since Saturday so if I have gone early I hopefully shouldn't have missed it!

diamondsparkles · 09/06/2015 20:34

red - don't worry! Ovulation varies, how long are your cycles normally? And your dtd plan sounds like it's going well Smile

findingmyfeet12 · 09/06/2015 20:35

Are the ovulation tests accurate?

I bought some b6 supplements today from morrisons, but they're only 10mg. When I've looked into it it seems they recommend a much higher dose. I will take these for now and see if I see any higher doses in the meantime.

I'm going to be away on holiday when af is due so hoping she won't arrive.

DianaOstara · 09/06/2015 21:20

I've been pondering the 'can you use additional sticks in previous opk holder' question and today did a little experiment...bought a new Clearblue dual hormone pack and tested one stick in current holder and one stick in the new holder. Current holder showed flashing smiley as it has for previous two days and new holder showed blank circle. I'm going to do the two stick test tomorrow too (you know, because I enjoy flushing my ££ down the loo :) ) so will report back!

Plan to dtd for the first time this cycle tonight (CD13). Temperature hasn't risen yet so hoping to get this one in just before ovulation.

diamondsparkles · 09/06/2015 21:44

Glad you're doing okay mayo - fingers crossed af doesn't arrive, will you test if nothing tomorrow?
doom - if it's any help I take a b complex from Holland and Barrett - I think that's a good dose.
diana - the first test in a new holder is always a blank circle as it gets used to your hormone levels. But yes let us know what happens tomorrow with your experiment, it will be interesting.

Red193 · 09/06/2015 21:54

Diamond - after my cervix examination yesterday I thought I may ovulate today. When I went back and looked at the test 3 hours after I took it I could see a very faint line so maybe I'm going to ovulate in the next day or 2. Will test again tomorrow. It's so awkward with hubby being on nights. Poor man is exhausted!! Shock

diamondsparkles · 09/06/2015 21:59

Sounds like you might do soon then red. It is awkward with dh on nights, I always find myself planning out the month and looking near when I think I will ovulate then when I see dh is on nights at that time it's so frustrating! Ttc is like a military operation!

doomkittycleo · 09/06/2015 22:11

Diamond that sucks. It's hard enough timing things right without him being on nights. Do you work days?

diamondsparkles · 09/06/2015 22:33

doom I know - it's a pain! He does a mixture of shifts but they always seem to get in the way Sad. That's what I think has happened this month, a late ovulation, if I did at all as I ran out of tests, and he was on his shifts over the crucial time! We dtd loads beforehand but think it was too early. Yes I'm a Monday- Friday worker so makes it very frustrating when I'm here and he's not!

findingmyfeet12 · 09/06/2015 22:37

It makes dtd feel like a bit of a chore at times.

Is it crucial to dtd on the exact day that ovulation takes place?

doomkittycleo · 09/06/2015 22:39

No findingmyfeet as long as you do it in the 6 days prior that should do the trick, but do it as much as possible during that time.

If your oh has sperm count issues every other day.

Red193 · 09/06/2015 22:40

Argh!!! My ovia app just changed my fertilty window based on my symptoms and today is now my most fertile today. Took another opk and there was a line but it wasn't as dark as the control line so think I may ovulate tonight/tomorrow morning! Will check my temperature in the morning! Argh!! So glad DH only does nights once every 30 weeks!

fuzzywuzzy · 09/06/2015 22:49

Ovia changes peak days constantly till you give it a definite peak. Depending on CM etc. then for me it readjusts when I add in opk peak. really annoying.

TTC is making not want to have sex to be honest. It's too serious and unromantic.

doomkittycleo · 09/06/2015 23:16

I hear you fuzzy my partner seems to feel that way too and I feel like I'm nagging to get him to BD half of the time.

When we did it yesterday, afterwards his response was will that keep you quiet now he said it with a cheeky smile but my thoughts were, how romantic.

Men eh!

Red193 · 10/06/2015 08:13

So took another opk this morning and the line was clearly there and the same colour/possibly slightly lighter than the control line. My temp was up on yesterday's but not higher than it has been before so my guess is I'm going to ovulate today (CD14) so will take another opk when I get home and take it from there
