Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Smile

Pear I would just say to prepare for the fact that your GP may not be half as clued up about all this as you are ???? I'm sure they won't laugh but will likely have to google!

If it's not a helpful visit just go and see someone else....good luck!

peardrop2 · 09/07/2015 21:31

Ispy - you're so right! I must not go in with the hope that they will wave their magic wand and be able to fix things Blush I mostly worried that I will forget the word "prolactin" lol

AvaAmulet · 10/07/2015 00:13

Pear, write it down - anything you want to ask, or are afraid you'll forget, write it on an actual piece of paper or save it on your phone (I live by lists!) and check off your list as you're discussing with GP - hope it goes well Smile x

I have a question for anyone who's feeding toddlers (calling all lurkers too!) why would DD seem to be latching on differently recently?? Would I be producing less milk since cutting down, thus making her suck harder?? This evening she's left teeth marks around my nipple! The marks are consistent with the tear I had last week, which healed perfectly after a days' rest, but I know it's at risk of tearing again - it's so sore and there's a graze where her teeth were resting now! Showering earlier was excruciating Sad I want DD to wean happily, at her own pace, with a little encouragement from, me but I really hope this last phase of bf'ing isn't drawn out too long. It's so painful at times, any time she wants to stop altogether now is fine by me Blush

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 10/07/2015 05:45

Good luck pear!

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 10/07/2015 05:46

I don't know about latchings anymore ava :'(

peardrop2 · 10/07/2015 07:36

Ava - is she teething? That happened to me when DS was teething. Luckily it didn't last long otherwise I would have stopped earlier!

peardrop2 · 10/07/2015 07:37

Thanks ladies for the luck today. I'll let you know how it all goes Wink I'll be going with my notes and low expectations Wink

Leamice · 10/07/2015 10:24

Ouch Ava! Hope its not too painful!

Good luck today Pear i hope they are helpful at GPs

Evening! I'm the lucky one sitting with a glass of rosé watching Winbledon whilst DH is watching Ds. I'm hoping the game goes on for a long long time so that I can get out of bedtime Wink

Anyway, my visit to the dr went well. Youngish man in his 40s. Knew his stuff tg! He feels that because I'm 33 and I've had ds1 it's just a matter of time. He doesn't want to do a prolactin test because he says that I wouldn't be having regular periods if I had a problem with my prolactin levels. However, he's given me the choice to have the blood test after I see a peak a week later on my OPKs. I've said yes to that as I would like a proper confirmation on whether I am ovulating. When I said yes please because I'll relax knowing I'm doing something...he said sensible plan! He also said he wants to see me again in 6 months but he felt we would be having a very different conversation by then anyway Smile

peardrop2 · 10/07/2015 20:42

Forgot to add that the Dr said he would probably want to test 3/4 months as 1 month doesn't really give accurate results. Surely I've either ovulated or not? I was a bit confused at that part!

MinisMama13 · 10/07/2015 21:38

Evening!

Hi Auf!

Ava are you at a Center Parcs by chance? You've probably said and I've missed it! That's where we're going in October, I'm ridiculously excited! I'd rather go for my birthday which falls in the Christmas break section but we can't get the time off to go then so we're going just after Mini's birthday.
Latch wise we always have teeth marks now. He's not been chewing and they're not deep but they're there. He's only got his back molars to come and has been chewing constantly so I'm guessing they're on the move. If it hurts I ask him to let go and start again with a big wide mouth. I made a face once with my tongue out to show him and he's remembered and does it when I ask which is handy. He doesn't always let go straight away but tickling seems to help, you've just got to get out quickly!

Hi Trinpy!

Pear the day out sounds like a good plan, I've been doing more things like that recently! I'm liking the idea of treats for not testing early Smile
Oh and I am sick of seeing scan pics/pregnancy announcements/bumps/newborns atm!
Sounds like a positive trip to the doctor's. They'll just be wanting to check it wasn't a one off result. When we had all of our fertility testing they repeated my tests 4 or 5 times, 3 before we were referred and the hospital requested more to confirm. My first test showed me as ovulating but I didn't on others and I had different hormone levels each time. I can't specifically remember what now though as my memory just doesn't work now Confused

Hope I've not missed anyone or anything!
CD1 here today (I think as its not been particularly consistent so maybe tomorrow!) Just want it out the way now so we can start again! I was told today I should bin my ov sticks and just go for every other day, always helpful!
My problem today is I now feel guilty for ttc as now my aversion has buggered off until next cycle I'm loving bf again and I don't want to force him to stop but I have a feeling if I do get pregnant then my milk will go and he won't want to dry nurse. Gah. Too hard.

ispyfispi · 10/07/2015 22:41

Yes totally loving the rewards for not testing early! Glad the Dr went well Pear.

ispyfispi · 10/07/2015 22:43

And Mini my lo will let go if I ask! It's so cute! Except for the times he shakes his head....without letting go ????

ispyfispi · 11/07/2015 05:49

Eek, I'm awake early on 9dpo and I really have to pee! Anyone around to talk me out of it?!

peardrop2 · 11/07/2015 07:15

I spy step away from the sticks!!! Pee really really fast! Did you manage to avoid?

MinisMama13 · 11/07/2015 07:30

Did you resist ispy?

ispyfispi · 11/07/2015 09:42

Haha, yes and no! I finally managed to get ds off the boob so I could run and pee, without poas, as dh is away this weekend and we wouldn't be able to discuss it. I then caved and tested later without fmu, I'm such as idiot ????

Trinpy · 11/07/2015 13:39

Maybe try again in a couple of days ispy? I am the same number of dpo as you but I'm holding out until Thursday when af is due because I only have one hpt left. 99.9% sure that I'm not pregnant. I have a very good feeling about you this month thoughSmile.

Trinpy · 11/07/2015 13:45

Pear maybe it's I'm case you're having a bit of an off month and don't ovulate when normally you do? Or ypu randomly ovulate the month they test but not usually? Very good they're being thorough though.

mini sorry I missed you when you joined. hello! My boobs are feeling a bit delicate at all this talk of teeth marks Confused. I'm honestly in awe of any mum who can continue to bf through biting and sore nipples. You're all amazing Thanks.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 11/07/2015 14:23

pear fab news on a sympathetic doctor! :)

peardrop2 · 11/07/2015 14:24

Trinpy yes that's absolutely it...well done for figuring it out for me Wink thanks!

I spy - Naughty!!! Grin I take it you got a bfn today then Hmm

I honestly don't know why we all test so early. It's like the inevitable trap Grin

Trinpy · 11/07/2015 17:49

I know what you mean pear! I've tested at 5 dpo before (when I was ttc #1), I don't know what I was thinking! i knew full well that no hpt is going to pick up a pregnancy that early, but I still did it and then felt like crap when I got a bfn. Ttc is not really a logical time.

ispyfispi · 11/07/2015 20:03

So Trin it looks like our cycles are synced then! I'm apparently due af on Thursday too (cd41) according to the app although my cycles have never been longer than 30days before! I obviously got a bfn this morning. I will try not to test tomorrow Confused. So I've had some spotting today. I can't be sure if it's from peeing as my uti is now a kidney infection or whether it's vaginal. It is similar to my previous implantation bleeds though!
Starting to worry it could actually be my month now! Dh would panic that it happened so soon and I'll be worrying about all the drugs I'm on even though they're supposedly safe.

I've actually had a really bad day today. What with me and ds being unwell and dh being away I've been really short tempered. Ds is being ridiculously demanding but I've had to do all the usual cooking, cleaning etc and he wouldn't even let me go to the loo, get a drink so he's had to do a lot of waiting and screaming today. I never leave him to cry and now he's asleep I feel awful. He's only little and he's not well ????

ispyfispi · 11/07/2015 20:05

Doh, just read my last post and it sounds pretty obvious af is on the way, how did I miss that?!

MinisMama13 · 11/07/2015 22:47

Ispy I had what I was convinced was pms with ds so you never know! Fingers crossed for you.

Trinpy don't worry, I keep getting side tracked when coming on to post so they're epic boring essays when I do! I actually feel lucky as he's only intentionally bitten me twice I think Smile

Pear it's the poas addiction that makes us do it!
