Are you sick to the tits of baby-making sex? Or are you squelching with rabid lust when the lickle hand strikes cock o' clock? Have you already picked Sophia and Hugo as your baby names? Do you want to gouge out the smug eyes of the pregnant women in Sainsbo's? Do you shove balloons up your Boden sweater and pretend you have baby in your tum-tum? Have you already picked out your Farrow & Ball nursery paint? GREAT! Then you're just like us: We are the friendliest, wittiest, gayest, animal-lovingest, cervical-hunting women you will ever meet.

Come on, you frightened little trying-to-conceive mice...come join the fun on the Bumsnet bus. You know you wanna Smile

Haha, yes me too, I love yum yums! Xx

ibeka · 21/05/2015 22:25

Hi fifi, nice to have you back but really sorry to see you've had a 2nd MC. What stage in your cycle are you now?

night I've always wanted to foster or adopt, far more than I've wanted my own children. DP is openish to the idea but wanted our own first. Of course now I've had the MC all I want is to be pregnant again!!!

pikz 11dpo here.... Bfn. Sad. Am almost scared to temp tomorrow. Going away for the weekend and wish I knew for certain one way or the other. If I don't drink and then get AF on Monday or something I shall be so fucked off!!!

juneybean · 21/05/2015 22:54

purdie all kids are different man, you should see my pairs of kids, they're so different (thankfully!) in temperament, looks and whatever and they have the same parents!

Queenbee30 · 22/05/2015 07:55

grabs the bumsnet bus tannoy Ladies, I'm stopping using my CBFM flings it out the window with glee then quickly checks it's ok so it can go in ebay

It's too stressful and maybe in clutching at straws, but from what I've googled it just doesn't work for some ladies. I've got some super sensitive internet cheapies that I might use next month. My DH said last night "why don't we just have sex every day next month". My fanny would probably fall out, that's why we concluded that every other day from a sensible starting point would be fine.

I'll catch up now.

Queenbee30 · 22/05/2015 07:56

^ sorry for the typos

Pixa · 22/05/2015 08:03

Hi all,

I can only apologise for how absent I have been. How is everyone doing?

DH and I have been keeping mega busy, he has been miserable about the SA but appointment is booked for next week.

I feel like I have failed him this month. I don't think I have ovulated, which feels crap when that is the reason he was waiting for his SA.

We are having sex regularly though and we haven't yet hit the boredom factor so that's good. I just can't figure out what is or isn't working for us. It is just timing right?

Howdy girls. Am in need of help and opinions please.
I have no confirmation of ov today and my temps are still low. Angry I'm attaching the chart for your perusal.
Last cycle I had a huge temp spike on day after +opk suggesting ov on the day. This cycle I sort of expected the same to happen.
Problem 1 is that I accidentally took two measurements on the day after the +opk this month (don't ask why, it's never happened before and I just forgot I had done it already and then took a second one) and for various reasons (happy to explain if necessary) chose the lower one to input. Sticking with the lower temp of 36.7 ff is failing to confirm ov. Going with the higher one of 37.1 ff suggests ov on the day of the +opk this cycle too, even though the temp shift is so minimal. I should remind you all that my temps are generally haywire because of sleep patterns, but that last cycle had this really clear and large temp shift for ov. Usually the overall patterns are clear anyway so I don't worry too much about it. But it would be nice to know if anyone else has only a very slight temp rise post ov?
Problem 2 is that I've been prescribed progesterone, as some of you might remember, as my lp is only 5-7 days. I'm supposed to start taking it when ov is confirmed. I would have liked to start today at a hypothetical 3dpo as I don't really want to get to 5dpo and then my own prog levels drop again and trigger menstuation before the obviously fertilized, I mean look at how much we shagged! egg gets a chance to implant. BUT I don't want to take the prog of there is a chance I haven't ov-ed yet and might get another surge or if I am due to ov today and then somehow the prog buggers ov up completely? (Fwiw If I take it today it will artificially raise my temp tomorrow anyway so I won't know if tomorrow I might have spiked on my own.)
Any thoughts from anyone? I know purdie is a smart one when it comes to confirming ov? Hint hint. Grin
Feeling a bit miserable. Bah. Is it too early for gin?

Morning Grin

Glittery, no! You've been beaten to it, I reckon they were a lurker here and nicked your idea!

Sammy, so pleased you're moving forward. Very exciting, not long now till your bfpGrin

Pixa, why do you think you haven't ov'd, did you not get a positive opk?

Lucie, if you're around, how are you? Have you got a new Czech trip sorted?

Purdie, don't worry if your donor can't help. As others have said, every child is different even with the same parents. I used to use Skype regularly and it was fab. How was work this week? Another week over Smile

Juney, hope the romance is going well for you.

I'm cd12 so may have ov'd. Not been using opks and didn't temp this morning as I had a few drinks last night. We dtd cd 10/11, waiting for dp to wake up so that I can jump him againWink

autonomousplum · 22/05/2015 08:29

Hah pixa we are both chart widows today! Smile

nightandthelight · 22/05/2015 08:38

Sorry for crappy charts plum and pixa :(

All through this TTC business I have been leading DH but he is going all out with the fostering. I thought we wouldn't be contacting anyone until we knew whether we have been successful this cycle or not but he had got in touch with an agency and they are ringing today to sort out a home visit! Will be awks if I am pg Hmm

Finishing work early today to head to Devon with DH to see my grandparents for the weekend, can't wait! Haven't packed my thermometer so that I can have some lie ins Grin

nightandthelight · 22/05/2015 08:39

What are others plans for the weekend?

fififolle · 22/05/2015 08:40

Ibeka hello again! I've had my first proper AF since MC and am now approaching mid cycle. I'm trying SMEP and will start OPKs later today. I'm pretty sure of when I ov but just want to double check.
How are you getting on?

purdiepie · 22/05/2015 09:11

Auto, you won't agree with me but I don't think you ov'd last month or this. Last month's chart just looks too rocky post-'ov' and this month therea no indication at all. For difinitive proof you could go for 'day 21' bloods on the seventh day after you think you'be ovulated this month - but I can't see that it's happened yet. I also would suggest you take the first of those two temps you took as the valid one - second tests are never reliable.

Pixa, it looks like you haven't ovulated to me but what worries me from your posts are the fact that you and dh feeling so irrationally blameworthy about what your bodies may or may not be capable of.

Woolly84 · 22/05/2015 09:13

ibeka sorry for bfn - hope it's just too early!

queen EOD sounds good and if it's less stressful than the monitor than the better!

pixa please don't feel like you've let him down, you're going through this together. Could it be that for you and autonomous the temp rises very slowly? I've attached my chart and although it shows ovulation it did take until 5 dpo for FF to confirm it given the weird drop at 2&3 dpo!

spinners go go go! Grin

night wow quick progress on the fostering! Good work DH! Have fun in Devon x

fifi welcome back Smile

I think AF will arrive in a few days as I was super teary yesterday which is usually a sign of her arrival!! Hmm

Soz for typos.
fifi, it is so great to have you back on the thread x

Spinning, hello lovely! I am getting rather good at my job. I just wish gobshites would pipe down about inane twaddle and let me concentrate. Why are some people simultaneously loud and boring?

OP posts:
purdiepie · 22/05/2015 09:23

You know what the most tedious aspect of the job is? Working next to a female manager who resents being very far so much that she makes barbed comments about how much sweet stuff the rest of us eat. She clearly has an enormous struggle with food and fumes when the rest of us dip into the goodie box while she picks at her strawberries. Why the faux-restraint? She clearly goes home to her wardrobe-secreted shoebox and devours nine Mars bars in a row. She is colossally fat but pretty. Just stop pretending you're on a diet, woman, you're fooling no-one and making yourself miserable.

autonomousplum · 22/05/2015 09:47

Thanks purds Sad I'm considering starting the prog tomorrow then anyway to see if it will at least lengthen by post lh surge lp, if you're right.
Thanks to woolly for posting your chart though. It's good to see the very slow rise and fallback. That sharp shift at the end looks very promising though, surely! Grin

autonomousplum · 22/05/2015 09:48

Thanks night Flowers
Sorry about the woman next door purds. Maybe just keep offering her yummy stuff so she feels comfortable about eating it?

ibeka · 22/05/2015 10:29

I'm not too bad thanks fifi. Was feeling pretty positive a few days ago but now am convinced I'm out this month so feeling pretty glum. I have no symptoms of either AF or pregnancy except for crying at everything so who knows. This is only the first 'proper' cycle sine the MC so I know I shouldn't feel too disappointed but I'm not being very rational at the moment!

auto I'm afraid I have no sensible comments about your chart. It's really hard to see with the temps going up and down. If it were me and I thought I Amy have oved, I would probably take the progesterone and see what happens. That said, purdies suggestion of the bloods is probably best.

pixa'you cannot blame yourself For your OV pattern and DH cannot blame himself for the SA results whatever they are! Is it feasible you oved on day 14 or 15 and that the day 12 temp is too high because taken late on a Sunday hangover lie in...?

purdie so glad the job is going well. I've assumed that is responsible for you not posting as much!!

Anothe bfn with fmu today. Last time I got the bfp evening of 12dpo so I'm certain I'm out for this month. I'm frustrated not to know for certain though as I'm off for a weekend with two lovely friends in Cornwall and I am desperate for booze!!!! Here is my chart of anyone is interested, it seems to be a charty sort of day.

BUMSNET - where bums (and hopes) are raised in the quest for a BFP.
purdiepie · 22/05/2015 12:06

Woolly and Ibeka, I love your charts - bursting with promise and tons of brilliantly-timed sex. I'm so jealous of those of you with healthy sex lives. Mine is abysmal and I am close to having The Talk with eh about how both our antidepressant-taking is affecting our intimate life. Neither of is ever gagging for it, that much is clear, and there is no chance of acting upon bedtime snuggles as we sleep in separate rooms (non-negotiable).

plum, I have nothing against fat people per se but many of them - especially women - are so resentful of their relationship with food they punish others for it. I am sick of being told how many Slimming World 'sins' are in my Krispy Kreme doughnut or my Topic. I never regale her with my calirific knowledge of Prosecco and I don't resent those who get lashed at the weekend when I can't.

I have little sympathy for those who are truly miserable in their behaviours but only weakly address them.

Ibeka, I remember those initial months after my mmc. I wish you so much luck; keep doing what you're doing and don't falter x

ThePug · 22/05/2015 12:11

Look at all these charts!

Pixa Your chart doesn't seem to indicate you have ov'd. Have you had clear temp shifts in the past? As others have said, try not to get in the mindset of blaming yourself or DH blaming himself - we don't have any control over what our bodies are doing (other than to force them to have CoC when we decide!). Will he get his SA results fairly quickly do you know?

Plum Goodness those are some wild temp variations! Can you get the progesterone again next cycle if it ends up being 'wasted' this cycle, or is it a one time only prescription / expensive to buy?

Woolly your chart looks good I think - your temp is rising!

ibeka Hmm, you haven't had a big plummet of temp yet so I agree you can't write it off despite the BFNs. I would probably go away assuming it was going to be a bfn but moderate my alcohol intake just in case. Hope you have a fab time (I think the weather is meant to be sunny tomorrow in the SW) and if AF does arrive, the Wine will help you enjoy yourself until you are ready for the next round.

purdie How many weeks into your placement are you now? Brilliant to hear how well you're getting on.

fifi Nice to have you back; I'm sure you won't be here long Smile

night Oh wow your DH isn't wasting any time is he! How exciting for you both. Maybe if you are fostering it will take the pressure off TTC but you can still keep NTNP and might end up with a house full!

As for me, I'm getting fed up of this wtf cycle which is dragging on and on and on. Yesterday's opk looked paler than the previous 5 days. I think CM is getting more fertile then the next time I check it will seem sticky. Cervix has been high & openish for 10 days. Temp is all over the place and FF hasn't got a bloody clue! I am now 26 days post erpc and if I'm not going to ov this cycle, want AF to get a move on so we get a proper go next month.
