If you want to rage look at the active thread around north Essex IVF funding. Some fuckwit just described IVF as a luxury. Fuming!

tigerdog · 27/05/2015 16:30

Oh and beaky look after yourself love Flowers.

Spare it is hell isn't it. Everything crossed for you.

beakybeak · 27/05/2015 17:43

Thanks Gill I'll make sure I'll be able to get out with the dog first thing then!

Tiger the people who say this kind of thing should be refused treatment on the NHS. Grrrr.

Thanks lucie I'll think I'll do that to see what else they would recommend, if anything.

lucieloos · 27/05/2015 18:36

It's definitely worth doing beaky, they are lovely people and so helpful.

Tiger, grrrr don't think I could look at that thread, would get too annoyed!

Gillster · 28/05/2015 06:40

Come on you mini Beak embies! I hope you're excited to be snuggling into your new home very soon.

Hand holds for HB and Spare during this very stressful time.

Hugs for Tiger too (and nods in appreciation at the eloquent way she made her points on the IVF funding thread).

nolly3 · 28/05/2015 07:41

Hi gil - how are things going? how was holiday?

tiger how do you feel today? Mr t being sad must be so difficult, on the one hand feel so responsible, on the other so helpless.

COME ON BEAKLETS

tigerdog · 28/05/2015 09:03

Good luck today beaky. Thinking of you and busting out all the moves for ET.

Cheers gill hope you're doing well.

Ah nolly just the person. When you moved down south, how did you transfer to another FC? I'm registering with new GP but presumably I'll need to ask them to refer me on to a local FC to continue my treatment.

happylass · 28/05/2015 09:29

Just a quick one to wish Beaky all the very best for ET today. Everything crossed for you!
Can't believe I'm struggling to keep up with the thread and I'm not even in work! Busy times!

tiger i asked my northern FC for print outs of everything - all test results, all letters, etc. ditto GP - then i took all the docs to the new GP and handed them over asking for expedited referral, esp given our lengthy wait (around 2 years already by that point). She was really pleased, as it meant a lot less chasing for her, and also meant we got seen within about a month.

tigerdog · 28/05/2015 09:38

Thanks nolly. I have copies of most of that at home - will photocopy at the weekend and make an appointment for next week. Oh and I'm feeling ok, thanks. A bit flat but holding it together.

IamKuma · 28/05/2015 10:26

Good luck for ET Beaky!

Good luck today Beakster.

Antonia79 · 28/05/2015 12:31

Hello, is there room for another one? Smile

I'm 36, TTC#1 for almost 7 years. We have no children. First 6 years was off the pill no monitoring, then 10 months using the clearblue ov tests.

Went to to the docs January this year and had the D1 and D21 blood tests, triple swab test and fiancé has had his sperm tested. All tests came back normal. We're referred to the fertility clinic.

One (surprisingly large) vial of blood taken, transvaginal ultrasound and HSG all done this month. Results of these will be revealed 9th June when we're back at the clinic.

I'll admit, I'm a bit scared but only because I have absolutely no clue what the results are, what the next steps will be. The dreams I've been having about the results... One where the gynaecologist tells me that he's sorry but my uterus is made of gelatine which is no environment for a baby to grow in, especially as it's lime flavoured gelatine!

beakybeak · 28/05/2015 13:38

Thank you berries, the support is much appreciated. Spare love the pic Grin

So I now have 2 beaklet embies on board, one is good, one is a little fragmented but fine. The consultant said he was really pleased with this given that my response was so poor. I got to see them on the screen too, if nothing else my clinic nurses are so lovely, they keep saying Ooo, and lovely, etc! Haha. I have a terrible cold and really bad cough though so I'm petrified that I'll cough them out Blush

Eek crossing everything I have for this.

Antonia welcome, the berries are an amazing source of support and also, hilarious (as you may have seen if you've read any of the thread). About the tests, firstly good luck for the results and remember a lot of things can be overcome with the right treatment. I've been having alsorts of weird dreams - mainly due to stress! A lime gelatine womb though! Wink

Spare how are you holding up?

tigerdog · 28/05/2015 13:48

Great news beaky now I can stop frantically checking for updates! Take it easy and look after yourself and the beaklets!

Haha love the pic spare that's us!

Come on in Antonia there's always room. Lots of knowledge about all things fertility related too.

Gillster · 28/05/2015 13:58

Yay to being PUPO Beaky! So glad the little beaklets made it to day 3 and are now in their rightful place. Make sure you get looked after and I hope you're not going into work tomorrow!

Smidge001 · 28/05/2015 14:14

Beaky congrats! Two on board the beaky train. I thought they were day 5 blasts though, but I bow down to Gill's 3 day comment as she always has the latest stats to hand.

Welcome Antonia. But I think the phrase is that we hope not to have you in here for long... (If you see what we mean Smile)

Tests are best when they reveal something in my opinion. Being 'unexplained' is so frustrating. Not quite sure what they could do with a lime jelly womb though...Grin

nolly3 · 28/05/2015 14:44

woo yay beaky! Look how far you've come compared with your fears earlier this month. THIS IS GREAT.

hiya antonia, welcome aboard. you've been trying for ages, I'd have gone completely insane. Or maybe that's what you're hinting with the lime uterus... ;)

Swarthy sons of toil are (A) not toiling and (b) singing colombian songs very loudly. WTF.

sparechange · 28/05/2015 14:55

Hi Antonia! Welcome to Berryland. May your stay be short, but I hope we can keep you sane in the meantime.
As you can see from the runners and riders list, we've got fairly extensive fertility clinic experience between us, so shoot with any questions you have, but I'm afraid you do have to pass a small initiation ceremony first.

Ready?

Ok, repeat after me...

I confirm that a Berry I am
And 'transvaginal ultrasound' is henceforth DILDOCAM Grin

(sorry everyone else. I honestly think I'm losing my marbles with this waiting game)

WildflowerMarmalade · 28/05/2015 15:07

That's wonderful news Beaky! Delighted for you and Nolly is so right to highlight how far you have come.

Welcome Antonia and as the others said, may your stay be short.

I'm back in the UK and back at work. Sad

happylass · 28/05/2015 15:30

Woohoo on being PUPO Beaky. When is OTD? What is this lime gelatine business? Have I missed something? Confused
Welcome Antonia. Make yourself at home. Sorry you find yourself here - being unexplained is beyond frustrating. Hope you get some answers soon.
Tiger did you decide on a holiday destination? Another vote for Greece (we go every year) but I also love Italy and the South of France. My knee jerk reaction to a failed cycle is to book a holiday and decorate. I've just ripped up my lawn and I'm also in the process of painting our spare bedroom/study. It hasn't been touched since we moved in 3 years ago as I'd mentally allocated it as the nursery. In the distinct absence of a BFP I've now painted it the least nursery like colour in the world - a very industrial grey. Think that definitely deserves an ironidiff!! Hope everyone else is ok. My feet haven't touched the floor this week but I'm off to a hotel in the back of beyond tomorrow for a couple of days with DH. Can't come soon enough!

Thanks berries, Nolly, Wild I know! At least I now know that yes there are some eggs that will mature (3 of the 4 were) and will fertilise and develop to day 3 (so far). I didn't know any of that before. So although I'm not counting my eggs before they've hatched (cheesy jokes a plenty) I am pleased to know that, after the awful amh news.

Spare I LOVE the new initiation song Grin

Wild welcome home! Boo to being back to work - it can't be long until your FET now?

Nolly wtf with the swarthy sons of toil!! You should record the singing to give us all a laugh!

Smidge yes day 3, basically because there are only two actual embies. Any sign of AF for you yet or does it look like it may be June?

Gill I did a little walk this morning too, hopefully the blood will be flowing and welcoming! Hope you are feeling well! When is your 12w scan?

Tiger I used the bits you sent me, thank you. They were definitely helpful. Have you decided where in Greece you fancy yet?

Oo Happy that sounds lovely! You've not had much chance to relax on your half term have you! Although having fun is just as good as relaxing Smile otd is two weeks today, I have to go in for a blood test.

Welcome Antonia. I'm amazed that you lasted 6 years without going loopy.
