Hi everyone,

Can I join in please?

I'm TTC, I'm 23 years old, have a SC and a LO, and we're hoping 1 more will complete our family.

We have low sperm count, low on everything, motility etc etc. So it's not the best sperm. We conceived our LO using home artificial insemination and we're doing the same now and I'm taking Soy Isoflavones too as I don't always ovulate. I'm currently in my TWW after 4/5 tries of insemination and hoping to fall pregnant asap.

So hello everyone :-)

loopylou1984 · 14/05/2015 18:42

Welcome mamma :). Xx

loopylou1984 · 14/05/2015 18:44

Ooops, posted too soon.
Assume LO is little one? How long did it take you to conceive him/her? Xx

mammabmamma · 14/05/2015 19:08

Thank you :-)

Oh yeah it is, it took us 18months to conceive her, but it was the first month we tried the HAI. Conceived her at Christmas and she's 3 in September! Gone so quick.

Just going to catch up on the thread :-) x

Carltonlives · 14/05/2015 19:17

zippy that's awful that they didn't do the tests at all then told you the result was normal!! I would be fuming. Are they redoing those tests at least? I assume you will have to give more blood for them to do so? You are right to be annoyed and definitely go back in a week or so and speak to a different gp and get a second opinion. I know they probably have lots to do but they shouldn't dismiss you like that! Get angry and go back and get answers I reckon Flowers

Welcome mamma! Good luck! Is this your first month trying?

Nothing to report from me, no cm, nothing happening yet.

mammabmamma · 14/05/2015 19:30

Thanks for the welcome :-)

We've tried 4ish times in the last year and a bit, but my cycles were all over the place, often gone for a long time then weird when they came, not being able to track things well.

I also suffer mental health problems, and I got a little ill, so i swapped my meds and my cycles are a little bit more regular, my mental health got better again so I've got that stable, and we decided we're going to try for our last little one now things are stable again :-)

I'll be able to get a bit more stuck and be able to join the conversations once I've got up to speed :-)

DizzyMerry · 14/05/2015 19:47

Zippy that's appalling. I hope you get an apology and some answers.

Welcome mamma. I'm pleased that your health is now stable and wish you all the luck in your ttc journey. Hope it's a short one.

wishiwaspregnant · 14/05/2015 20:23

Ooh how long until this thread runs out? Might need a new bus to take us into June?! Smile

parsnipbob · 14/05/2015 20:24

10dpo tomorrow. To test or not to test? AF due Monday. I have a stack of ICs :)

DizzyMerry · 14/05/2015 20:32

I've been meaning to ask this question but kept forgetting. How do I record ov on FF when using the CB dual hormone opk? I've had a look around FF but not quite sure. Will the first day of a flashing smiley be low ov or high? Is a flashing smiley classed as first fertile day?

parsnipbob · 14/05/2015 20:48

Dizzy are you temping alongside OPKs?

loopylou1984 · 14/05/2015 21:01

Dizzy - flashing is high and solid is peak Smile input it under monitor/advanced opk Xx

DizzyMerry · 14/05/2015 21:03

Parsnip yes I am temping.

Thanks sammy. Is it classed as first fertile day? Is a flashing smiley a + opk?

loopylou1984 · 14/05/2015 21:08

No, a solid smiley is a positive opk (I know because I've done both at the same time!). But I think flashy smiles still count as fertile days because it's the lead up to the positive! Xx

wishiwaspregnant · 14/05/2015 21:37

We love our temping on this bus! I'm trying opk next month! In fact I've enrolled on the a trial so should get it all in the post in time for next cycle! I've stopped spotting now. But I'm pretty certain it's the witch popping her ugly head around the corner (so to speak) so I shan't get hopeful. Which opk brand do you all use? I got some in the pounds shop which I might try along side trial ones. This it's like a science project!!! Exciting!!!Grin

Southy84 · 14/05/2015 21:51

woolly I'm looking forward to sharing my graph Smile

Thanks carlton and dizzy for reassuring me too, good to know that your dh had the same dizzy and everything was normal.

carrot I agree with the other ladies here, you look after yourself x

zippy im so sorry to hear you still don't have results or answers, I hope you know what's going on really soon. It must be so frustrating, I agree with what you say about the nhs and you definitely need to know why you were told everything was normal when they hadn't done the tests, even if the investigation on their part helps improve their processes. I hope in the meantime they offer you more blood tests x

DizzyMerry · 14/05/2015 21:52

Sammy that makes sense. I was getting myself in a tizzy trying to work it out!

I use Clear Blue wish. I did also use the Internet cheapies but I prefer to see a smiley as there's no confusion with the IC I couldn't work out if there was a second line. I hope AF stays away.

TeenieDeenie · 14/05/2015 21:59

Wish, how do you enrol in the trial?

Zippy, sorry to hear about your frustrating GP visit! I hope you get some answers soon.

88blueshoes · 14/05/2015 22:19

Yes wish I'd be interested in joining a trial too - where do you find out about them?

parsnip if it were me I'd test but then I'm a POAS addict! Mind you ICs aren't usually the most sensitive so it might be too early to show even if it is a BFP? Sorry I'm no help at all am I?!

zippy I agree with the others, that sounds hugely frustrating. Definitely keep asking questions, I hope you get some answers.

Woolly84 · 14/05/2015 22:42

Welcome mamma! Smile

dizzym I put in a flashing as a high on FF as sammy has described.

parsnip do you think you'll test?? My brain says wait another day but I know it's so tough to be patient!!

parsnipbob · 15/05/2015 00:39

Woolly I realised I have a FRER so will be tempted to use it. Let's see if my willpower holds out!!

coffeenut · 15/05/2015 01:14

all fingers crossed parsnip! 10dpo is still pretty early though. I only had a faint line at 12dpo on a frer ..

Sarah563 · 15/05/2015 06:12

temp has dropped over the last 2 days Sad, AF must be due in the next day or so! Fx for next month

loopylou1984 · 15/05/2015 06:39

Sorry about the temp drop Sarah :(

The ICs I have are really sensitive, 10 (whatever the unit of measurement is)! Guess it depends on the brand - these are one step. Xx

Bovnydazzler · 15/05/2015 08:01

Well I feel a bit naughty jumping on this bus just to jump off again... I've not been on the last couple of buses as I was getting too down and obsessed with the whole process. I've been TTC #2 for 15 months, with 4 of those months of clomid. I'd come off clomid this last month as it was affecting my cervical mucus, the decision wasn't easy as my cycle is all over the show (40-90 days, not always ovulating) and thought clomid was the answer.

Anyway I've had a big fat (Internet cheapie) BFP this morning!! I didn't ovulate till cd35 so was losing hope! Only thing I did this month (apart from sex EOD from cd10-cd38....phew) was give up gluten. My mum had coeliac so thought it was worth giving it a go, it does mean that just in case I'm going to have to stay off it for the rest of my pregnancy now (coeliac disease untreated can cause miscarriages).

Eek I'm so excited, I've let myself get so stressed and obsessed these past 15 months, it hasn't sunk in!

Great to see cariad and missmrsmummy get their BFPs too after long journeys, and congrats to all others too! Sorry I've not joined this month's bus from the start.

Good luck to all those on still the bus :)

All aboard the May bus! We will be using the bank holidays to make our BFPs :)
