Sorry to hear that birchy however I always think... Least I can have a cheeky drink now! I'm stepping it up next cycle to temp and opk... Hopefully that will make it all more accurate! Are u temping and opk?

Brooke113 · 09/05/2015 15:22

Whenever I've mentioned it to them, they've said my bladder is weakened due to previous pregnancies, I've had an ultrasound which showed no abnormalities, but I am prone to uti's. Don't you have to temp at the same time each day though, so one night I might wake at 3, the next 5, and sometimes not at all. But I very rarely sleep for four hours solidly, which is why I thought temping wouldn't work for me.

birchygoo · 09/05/2015 15:27

I have my bottle of wine purchased Grin I use cbfm. had d21 blood 5est this month which showed ovulation. I've just ordered one of the bb temp from Amazon

wishiwaspregnant · 09/05/2015 16:28

Just do it at 7am then brooke I guess you can try and just see how the temps look on the graph. Plot them on an app like fertility friend. It's so interesting to see how your cycle works! Reassuring too if you are worried about when u OV. It's also handy if your doc asks about cycles! You will have all the data! You can temp orally or vaginally. My graph orally is all over the place as I mouth breathe so might try vaginally next cycle! Hope this helps!
Horrah for the wine birchy I have to admit I did have a cheeky glass of bubbles last night! Tut tut! Xx

Sarah563 · 09/05/2015 18:00

Should we be doing temperature orally or vaginally?

sarah1391 · 09/05/2015 18:48

Hi ladies just got a quick question.

I want a pear cider...and next weekend i'll have to have a drink or 2 as got a family get together thing. IF (and thats a big if) i conceived it wouldve been last weekend. So am i ok to have a drink this weekend and next? I feel guilty even thinking about it and might not even be pregnant!

autonomousplum · 09/05/2015 19:04

brook I have a DC and my sleep is awfully disrupted. I try to take it at the same timeframe whether or not I've had a good chunk of sleep or not. So usually for me between 4am-5am as it is dc's mornings waking time. Around 12am-2pm when DC also wakes is apparently not a good time as your body hasn't wound down properly yet. Sometimes when DC doesn't wake or if I forget I take it at 5-6am and it really isn't the end of the world. Just don't stress about. You might show very clear patterns even if they are at odd times or you have lots of open dots. Definitley worth trying for a month or two I think. I know everyone will shout at me but I just use my dc's ear thermometer even though it is a single decimal place because I figure my temps are "unreliable" anyway. Temping is just an added help as my cycles are all wtf cycles at the moment so every bit of info helps. Smile

Brooke113 · 09/05/2015 19:22

Thanks wish and auto

wishiwaspregnant · 09/05/2015 21:08

Sarah1391 it's a tricky one with drinking. There are two trains for though. There are those who say absolutely no, then others who say the odd glass of wine is ok. To be honest the first trimester is the most important in terms of viability of the fetus. So if u were to drink alcohol it would be worse in this trimester. Having said that when you don't even know if you are pregnant then you might think, well other people wouldn't know they were pregnant and drink until they find out they are 6 weeks. I've many friends who have been boozing away completely oblivious they are pregnant... So I guess it's your call. Personally I don't think one glass matters, as long as it's just one! Hope that helps you.

sarah1391 · 09/05/2015 21:24

Thanks wish that helps :) its just one of those small cans of cider (had a look at the units - 1.5) and i'm not really holding out for a BFP considering we only DTD twice. I might POAS on friday (3 days before AF is due) to see what it says and obviously as soon as i get a BFP i wont drink at all!

Brooke113 · 09/05/2015 21:43

It's difficult isn't it Sarah I feel utterly horrendous today, as I had to take cocodamol for pain relief, I've been in pieces over it this afternoon. I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago, and if I eat something that doesn't agree with me I get horrendous pains which have resulted in a&e a few times. I had no choice but to take the pain relief this morning but I still can't help but worry if I do get my bfp in 2 weeks :(

sarah1391 · 09/05/2015 21:53

Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad brooke. I'm sure it will be fine, i've tried googling and from what i can see the only time its really 'bad' to do any of the things you're not meant to about 1-2 weeks after AF would be due (so usually when people find out they-re pregnant)

Sarah563 · 10/05/2015 07:06

Hello Ladies

Can I be added to the stats please. It's so nice to know I'm not the only one TTC at the moment. I really don't think I'm ovulation every month, which I've heard is normal for my age?!

Sarah563, Age 35, TTC#1, Cycle 8, AF/BFP due 15th May

CarrotVan · 10/05/2015 08:12

You'll be fine until the placenta kicks in around 6 weeks - until then the bean is self sustaining pretty much.

nightandthelight · 10/05/2015 08:16

Sorry not to be posting at the mo, parents visiting! Will update stats once they have gone this afternoon :)

still no af, was due yesterday but got 2 bfn and lots of cramps yesterday. hope it shows today if she is going to show as I Abe my blood tests Monday.

Sarah563 · 10/05/2015 09:13

Good luck birchygoo

BananaRaces · 10/05/2015 10:37

Hi ladies, desperately trying not to get too hopeful here. It looks from my chart as though we timed BD really well this cycle. AF is due on Tuesday, yesterday morning (8 dpo) I had a bit of spotting and thought "hmm, 3 days early, that's odd" then nothing since... I felt really nauseous earlier this morning too. I haven't been able to temp for the last 3 days so I can't tell if my temperature has dropped or not... Argh! I'm sure waiting until Tuesday or Wednesday to test is going to kill me!

Southy84 · 10/05/2015 10:46

Gues what I've done?! I've only gone and ordered me a bbt thermometer! Finally cracked and weirdly feeling a bit excited, hope it starts to give me a better picture of what's going on

Southy84 · 10/05/2015 10:47

Oh banana fx for you sounds promising x

wishiwaspregnant · 10/05/2015 10:53

I'm a bit miffed this morning, plotted my bbt temp and ff has decided to change my OV date... Was cd15 and now it's cd18. We last dtd on cd15 so if ff is right then we are out for this month as no where near cd18 for any of those swimmers to still be lurking! Maybe that's why my EWCM carried on for so long after previous date. Can ff sometimes be wrong? Anyone care to look at my chart for me?? I'll post it for comment:

All aboard the May bus! We will be using the bank holidays to make our BFPs :)
wishiwaspregnant · 10/05/2015 10:54

Previous chart gave crosshairs on cd15 when u can see a big temp dip...

coffeenut · 10/05/2015 11:20

Ff can be wrong wishi but it does look like you ov'd at cd18. I think that's why they say dtd whenever you see ewcm. Sperm can last up to five days though Smile.

southy very exciting!! A bbt thermometer! Loving all this temping going on Grin

DizzyMerry · 10/05/2015 12:09

Southy yay for your bbt thermometer. Temping is very insightful.

Wish FF can be wrong at times. I'm not an expert but it does look like you ov on cd18. You should continue to dtd for as long as ewcm is present as coffee says. Hopefully others will be along shortly to comment.

Banana fx for you.

Hope AF stays away birchy

BananaRaces · 10/05/2015 12:26

Thanks for the crossed fingers ladies! Smile

Wish I'm sorry but I can't help with your chart - I'm on my phone so I can't see it - I'm sure there will be more useful pairs of eyes along soon to have a look at it.
