Me post alert- I CANNOT believe that AF has arrived today 6 days early, making it a record breaking 22 day cycle Sad no signs! no spotting! just full on red blood Sad it's my anniversary today! what a wonderful gift to receive! I am fully throwing my toys out of the pram and stamping my feet.... All of that BDing for nothing. What a waste of time Sad

I'm having a Carrie - like day today. Had a bath got out and felt the watar evacuate my cavernous foof so put a tissue in and pulled it out saturated in blood. Awesome.

Still here, now waiting for Anti-D injection. Bloody good job I asked them to check results of blood test I had on Fri to find out blood group, honestly think they were about to see me on my way. DH getting grouchy (he's worried about the dog at home) and telling me to stop being so sarcastic when answering the nurse's ridiculous insensitive questions

So as for my appointment, after a rocky start with late appointment and a roomful of bumps, it did improve slightly.

We saw a different person who was far more sympathetic and didn't tell me off for crying like the last one.
They said the dildocam showed everything to be normal, so the next step is HyCoSy. The bad news is that they have no availability until August for this. I'm to call on the first day of af with estimates of my next few cycle dates to book it in... I'm not sure what happens if I have a long/short cycle and it messes the timings up??

We asked about going privately (Defoe HyCoSy) which they said they think will be fine and we should be able to just switch back to nhs after, but we need to check with the fertility clinic, so that's an option.

After HyCoSy we will have appointment the same day and be referred to the fertility clinic for iui/IVF.

We can't pay for IVF without losing our nhs tries... Which they told us today is 3 cycles! I'm not 100% sure, I think they meant one cycle then up to two goes with any frozen ones, but we'll clarify later.

So 2 options:

  1. try for 3 months naturally, go for HyCoSy (calendar day 11) then be referred and start iui/IVF straight away if needed
  2. pay privately for HyCoSy in the hope that I'm one of the ladies who gets pg right away after, then try for 3 months then start IVF/iui.

They were happy with dhs 5% morph score, I asked if it should be repeated and they said no. It's another thing we will check with the private consultant if we go that route as it still seems low to me. Meanwhile they advised selenium and zinc.... Which he's already started taking.

Not too bad a result really overall Xx

Oh yeah, and for you 'oldies' the doctor said she saw a 48 year old last week who had gotten pg naturally and by accident! - I think this was meant to make me feel better..... It just made me jealous! X

Rice Urgh, that's a terribly short cycle.do you temp? Are you sure it's actual AF? I know sounds silly but just incase it's light?

Sammy so glad that this app was better and consultant was nicer. Re the hycosy -I shouldn't think it would matter too much if it's out a few days.. Unless it was over a week out really. you should have it done between 7-11 says isn't it? August is a wee bit yet so three cycles? You never know you might get taken earlier. For private ours would have been £425 as I saw it on clinic price list. It's a lot. But if you can afford it and it gets things moving quicker for you then it could be worthwhile? So if you go forward with IVF after private hycosy you only have a three month wait from now is that right? That's pretty good isn't it? Good they are not too concerned with spermies. Get going on the nuts! 48 year old?! Wow.
So how do you feel after it? I think it all sounds very positive lovely, you are so much closer to your baby!!

Thank you for the sympathy everyone, I don't deserve it as I am lucky in so many ways.
It was only there after I had been for a (tmi) poo! But it was bright red so i know I am just clutching at straws thinking it may be implantation.
Got to go to a concert tonight with my friends, when all I want to do is curl into a ball and wallow in discusting self pity Sad

Sammy, that is a long time to wait, but sounds like the appointment went well. Is there a cancellation list you could go on to maybe get seen a bit quicker?

woolly I am going to throw myself In front of the bus.
I don't temp or use opks, I always get pain when I ovulate (can't remember now if I had it this month or not!) my last few cycles have been 28, 26, 28, 28,29 and now this one 22 days. Before (when I had the copper coil and when I was younger) my cycles were 35 days. I really am begining to think that I am starting the menopause

Wow 48 and pregnant! Fantastic, although I'm not sure if want to be pregnant at that age.

Fab idea to paint the side of the bus with 'New cycle, new hope' Someone on the buses said it to me some time ago when I was feeling down and I always think of it when the dreaded af arrives.

Can anyone remember how long you have to abstain for before doing a sperm sample? Dp has to do his on Friday, I have a feeling it's 4 days so I'm thinking if we dtd tonight he should be ok for Friday!

rice noooo, get yourself back on this bus lady!! Smile okay, your last 5 cycles have been pretty textbook regular, so this is clearly a blip, I've had the odd weird cycle now and then too, please don't worry about it. Would you consider OPKs or temping? I was only doing OPKs but am jumping on the temping bandwagon this month!!

purdie think you might be bang on about ov today, just done an opk and still getting a pretty dark line. Oh and if it's any consolation, most plain clothed cops wear matalan/new look/primark for work.

Agree with whoever said about clarks shoes though, it's got to be comfort over style for work and worth splashing out a few more quid for something that will last!

I can't temp woolly my dd is a terrible sleeper and has me up at least twice a night! So I don't get a good stretch of unbroken sleep. I'll be ok tomorrow, it just hits me harder every month ?? I like the mantra new cycle, new hope though.
purdie I wear primark or sainsbury's clothes to work, I'm not spending my hard earned cash on expensive work stuff! They don't pay me enough!!

I got another BFN at 12dpo. STILL a chance but that chance is dwindling. Have developed a sore throat (which was one of the first signs of my last pregnancy) and I'm still really tired, so part of me is feeling hopeful, but most of me is thinking this month will be like the last 4!
