The Rules of Bumsnet

You can shag, you can syringe, you can temp, you can OPK; as long as your aim is a BFP!

We're cliquey so fuck off. LPB will be annihilated.

Make sure you're on the ###Bumsnet Bumstats###

(That wasn't meant to read that Boris was horrible! Ah you know what I mean!)

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 19:06

You'd think Queen! When did they become so ethical? Grin

Hairstylisttoboris · 27/04/2015 19:11

Thanks queen just having a wee lie down before making dinner. Im coughing so much it makes everything hurt :(

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 19:12

Oh no hair what did your boss do by the way?

Woolly84 · 27/04/2015 19:12

With the amount of knowledge on this bus I reckon we could set up our own mobile fertility clinic!! Grin And we wouldn't make people wait friggin ages to see them!

Woolly84 · 27/04/2015 19:13

Oh boris Sad hope you feel better soon x

Yokyil · 27/04/2015 19:16

Ahh night that's poop Sad I sleep with mouth akimbo that affects taking your temp doesn't it? I bought a thermometer but haven't started temping yet. Will do that next cycle me thinks so I know exactly where I stand. Only started doing the opks last month Confused

spinningirl10 · 27/04/2015 19:16

Oh Pug, what an insensitive nurse! If those questions are standard then it definitely needs addressing. Anyway I'm pleased that's over with and you're home. Hope dh is taking care of you and you've got your feet up.

Sammy, £425 is a lot of money. As you say, best to sleep on it and see how you feel tomorrow.

Queen, sorry af's arrived, goodness that witch has been busy today Hmm

Night, sorry they won't see you. I'm surprised, you'd think they'd be happy to take Your money! At least you have a plan now, continue with the temping and you'll have something to show them. And in the mean time fx you get your bfp.

nightandthelight · 27/04/2015 19:18

You could try vaginally yokyil, someone on here does that and they say it makes for beautiful temps :)

Thanks everyone for your lovely comments :)

loopylou1984 · 27/04/2015 19:32

Thanks everyone Smile

Chops - I think the only difference is the way they scan you. Ones an X-ray and the other is.... Something else! But I don't know which. They only do appointments 1 half day a week, so I guess it gets booked up quickly. Good news is the number I have to call is the fertility specialists secretary so I'll be able to ask all my questions re private vs nhs at the same time. Af due Thursday based on ov day, but I'm really crampy so it might be sooner. Xx

Rainy34 · 27/04/2015 19:40

Sparkly I am due af on Wednesday

Sorry Rice and Juney that AF got you!!

Sammy glad the appointment went well, my cycles can change too so i can see why you would worry on wether to book the hycosy in advance, its all a numbers game

Hope you feel better soonboris

eskimoflo · 27/04/2015 19:42

Pug I'm glad that your appointment went as well as it could. I've been thinking about you all day Flowers

Night What a shock! Looks like you've been doing all your research though, and you are coming to some conclusions. Good luck with the temping. I hope that the early ovs sort themselves out Flowers

Sammy Again, it looks like you have some choices to make, but that you're in a good position to have a think and decide the best course of action for you. And hang on a sec.... there's a difference between HyCoSy and HSG???!!! Its the HyCoSy that I'm having on Friday! I had no idea that they were different; I just thought that the staff were calling it a different name! Confused Even when I called to book my appointment last week, I said 'Hello, I need to book in my HSG. It's Day One of my cycle today.' And the nurse said 'Ok, you need to book in a HyCoSy?' And I said 'Yes, a HSG' and then I booked it! Pahahaha. Hmm

eskimoflo · 27/04/2015 19:51

boris Sad Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry for AF queen, rice and juney Flowers

Queenbee30 · 27/04/2015 20:02

Thanks eskimo. Hope your procedure goes well on Friday. I confess I have no idea what either the first h thingy and the other h majiggy is...

spinningirl10 · 27/04/2015 20:08

Ooh Riceicle, you're seeing Olly Murs tonight! Have funGrin

loopylou1984 · 27/04/2015 20:09

Eskimo - having googled it the HSG is the xray one and HyCoSy is ultrasound.

Advantages of HyCoSy compared to HSG:

Does not use radiation
Less painful
Small lesions such as polyps can be seen better
Can assess sub-muccous fibroids
Congenital uterine abnormalities can be better assessed

Thank you Dr google!

chopsface · 27/04/2015 20:12

The hsg was the xray one. I was kinda cool actually... I lay on this bed thing with a gown on and me bits on show and then the bed moved around in loads of different directions! The dye up me foof bit wasn't that good. But I just remember the cool moving bed! Oh and the massively thick ridiculous NHS pad they issued me at the end! I recommend you take your own unless you want to be walking back to your car a bit bow legged!

eskimoflo · 27/04/2015 20:13

Ahhh, thank you sammy. I'm glad that any sub-mucous fibroids I may have will be assessed! Confused Seriously though, that sounds better, doesn't it Grin

frogbubbles · 27/04/2015 20:13

Evening lovelies, been a crazy busy day today. Still loads to do but have given up and collapsed on sofa with my crochet.

Nom, I'm fine thank you. I've been too busy to think about it. Plus I've been shopping so had a bit of retail therapy in peacocks. I bought a few dresses, I think I've bought the Purdie sex dress which made me chuckle. I can't believe your doc she sounds like a complete beast!

Thank you sparkly! Yay for the scan on Friday Smile

Rainy fx everything is ok

Aww juney, queen & rice blumming heck, sending lots of hugs and my stash of gin to you all Sad

Sammy glad your appointment went ok lovely, it sounds like you have a good plan in place.

Pug so glad today is over for you, sending lots of hugs.

In other news MrF woke me up at 4.30 this morning, whinging that my "ass" thermometer was sticking in his side. I am sick of trying to explain it is not an ass thermometer Blush

chopsface · 27/04/2015 20:14

Oh I feel a bit ripped off with my inferior hsg lol!

eskimoflo · 27/04/2015 20:17

Paha! Just think of the chair though chops. The chair!

MelonMelon · 27/04/2015 20:40

pug glad to hear you're ok. Some bits of your story made me chuckle (DH) and others made me rage!

Positive for me: ewcm Smile
negative for me: the mother said to me "you said to me you didn't want a baby til you're 30 anyway" I most definitely have never ever said this!

loopylou1984 · 27/04/2015 21:01

Lol Chops.. I'm sure there's another site somewhere with a list of benefits for the hsg too... I think they're very much the same really!

Eskimo - yes it's a relief about the sub mucous fibroids, I was worried about those ??

Nomio230 · 27/04/2015 21:05

Woolly, I like that idea. We could drive the bus round the country helping women!

Pug, I am so sorry to hear about your experience. It soumds like they made a horrible day even worse. I hope the worst is over for you now & you can start to move on.

Chops, I had the inferior HSG too. Might have to ask for the other type now so I can compare!

Frog, what are you crocheting at the minute?

eskimoflo · 27/04/2015 21:08

Sammy It just shows how dangerous Google is doesn't it?! Yes, it's useful, definitely, but also, in the same way that knowledge is power; ignorance is definitely also bliss. Shit- I really hope my fibroids are not the frickin' submucosal variety! Confused
