Ladies, Fred title says it all; we are the ones who shag as much as our men can cope with in order to get upduffed without the stress of scientific whatnots!

Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also know as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit). Or PIATLH (Tea light holder) PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage. Self explanatory, who wouldn't?

ROC - Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Shagging like Something = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into ttc obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing A Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

just i checked a few papers/protocols and in theory the hcg in your urine should be stable at room temp for at least 8 hrs (some suggest several days). Stability is better in the fridge, but tests must be performed on room temperature (or body temp) urine, not cold.

I suspect variation in line strength is probably more to do with stick-to-stick variability than anything else, and that any visible line=bfp :)

SkyWasMadeOfAmethyst · 07/04/2015 12:34

Pom poms out for those with possible bfp's Biscuit Biscuit

honeysucklejasmine · 07/04/2015 12:46

What a lovely sunny day! Some potential bfps, bright sunshine... What's not to like?

Black cat has decided I will be petting her for the foreseeable future... Wanted to tidy up a bit before friends came round. Oh well. Hmm

Lookingforadvice123 · 07/04/2015 13:12

Can I join please? Looks like my kind of thread, OPKs / temping etc sounds way too complicated for me, I wouldn't even know how to temp!

Age: 27
DC: none, will be getting a dog in the summer hols if not pg by then!
Cycles: none, first month of "seeing what happens" this month! According to my app my fertile window is 9th-15th April, but I dont want to make this process mechanical from early on!

CarrotPuff · 07/04/2015 13:16

Welcome Looking!

lil the day I got my BFP last time I drank about 50 pints of water... just saying Wink

5hell · 07/04/2015 13:34

lil I wouldn't hold back on the drinking too much...what if only a teeny bit of wee comes out and you miss you pissy stick/ROC?!?!?! all that wasted thirst!

maemay · 07/04/2015 13:43

Hi Looking
Welcome to the club! There's the odd bit of temping that goes on here and there but we pretend it doesn't!
The ladies (also known as viroids due to autocorrect!) here are lovely and supportive and are great for pooling advice and knowledge from those who have been trying a bit longer and therefore are more in the know.

Also, we like to pee on sticks 'together'! ...I say "we", - I personally haven't had the pleasure of POASing yet, as this is the first cycle that we are trying too.
I'm a relative newbie here as well, (joined a couple of threads ago) - a word of warning - apart from the lingo and abbreviations that you'll have to get used to, you'll have to keep an eye on the thread as it can move quite fast and there are a lot of us on here!

We're all on our own journeys, but it's great that we can kind of be in it together!
Fingers crossed (or should I say "gx") that yours is an easy ride.

lildottie · 07/04/2015 13:50

welcome looking. hope your stay with us is short and you get to join the grads thread quickly!

I just chased clinic and managed to actually get an appt! 21st April!

jellypi3 · 07/04/2015 13:58

Good news on the appointment lil. :) not too long.

Welcome looking

Lookingforadvice123 · 07/04/2015 14:05

Thank you for the welcome everyone!! Bit scared I won't be able to keep up but I'll try and check in when I can! Good luck to everyone else who's (alleged!) fertile window is coming up! I think Dh and I will try dtd on the 10th, 12th and 14th, which as we have a long weekend wouldnt be unusual for our pre-ttc days! Will see what happens though!!!

fallenstar27 · 07/04/2015 14:22

Welcome looking

Glad to hear that lil

What's the criteria for skittletits again? My nipples are absolute agony but the rest of the boobage is totally fine :/

CountryGal4 · 07/04/2015 14:26

Fallen that qualifies as skittletits. I've been rocking the same for 5 ruddy days now!

fallenstar27 · 07/04/2015 14:30

Day two for me. Not sure if I can cope with three more!

CountryGal4 · 07/04/2015 14:33

This isn't normal for me though!!

fallenstar27 · 07/04/2015 14:36

That's a little bit exciting! Gx!

I'm only 4dpo (I think) and first cycle off pill so I reckon this is just my body being a knobber.

maemay · 07/04/2015 15:01

Fallen my nips were agony this month (between icing and AF), but never had that as a symptom before! Blaming the BC!

I'm slightly concerned that the BC might have messed with my system, though cycle seems to have settled down to a regular pattern straight away. According to when I iced and when AF arrived, it looks like my LP is shorter than average (8 or 9 days by my reckoning). I guess I'll just wait and see how things go, and it may well lengthen itself as the cycles go on???

jellypi3 · 07/04/2015 15:21

Give it time mae. BC messes up LP's quite significantly sometimes.

Sore boobs are a common TWOT symptom for me. Lack of sore boobs would be more exciting for me lol

auxiliaryauroch · 07/04/2015 16:25

Thanks for the sound advice girls la, lil, jelly and all the rest. I've been taking b6 for three cycles without it helping. didnt take it on first cycle when AF returned. I think it didn't help because my overall cycle length is good at around 30 days but the FP/LP balance is screwed up. I'm going to talk it over with DP tonight based on your concerns. I am very very scared of it doing something terrible to my cycles and I know my gp would also object, but also very scared of waiting how many more months before I ov earlier in my cycle and therefore have a longer lp. Am worried I'll reach 40 without getting pregnant again and it just getting harder and harder to.
Thanks again! I might have an AF shaggathon tonight because it is so obviously the wrong time and will release some of the anxiety.

jellypi3 · 07/04/2015 16:31

aux were you taking b6 complex or just plain old b6?

OP posts:
lildottie · 07/04/2015 16:42

aux when you ovulate doesn't affect how long your lp is. you could ov on cd6 and still have a 9day lp so a 15day cycle! and yes taking just b6 causes imbalance, it must be complex. if you aren't long off BC though you are vest letting it sort itself out first.

auxiliaryauroch · 07/04/2015 16:44

Hallo looking! cuntraband is all the rage
jelly b6+b12 for the added absorption. But not the full b-complex in one pill. However my pregnancy vits that I also take has the other b's in it too, so figure it is okay as I take it at the se time.

auxiliaryauroch · 07/04/2015 16:45

Xpost lil

lildottie · 07/04/2015 16:58

b complex is all 8 b vitamins. you can cause issues if you don't tale all in the right balance. I imagine that's why you've seen no difference. la where are you? this is your bag!

jellypi3 · 07/04/2015 17:08

Yeh you need the complex to extend your LP. la is queen of this.

OP posts:
LaLaLaaaa · 07/04/2015 18:37

Hiya! Aux if you've only just started getting af back in jan then I would be letting it stabilise normally first before taking anything. Why are you taking b vits just now? If it's to rectify lp you'd probably be better waiting 6 months to see if your cycles normalise on their own first as you're just adding factors that can affect cycle.

Only reason I started taking b6 was because I had a year of short lp with my normal cycles after letting them settle.

You do need to take b complex as just b6 can create imbalance and also nice you get bfp you need to stop taking them completely. I managed to increase lp 2 days with the bit b complex.
