Glad to hear things sound OK Autumn it's a shame you can't get an early scan under the circumstances!

Rainy34 · 10/04/2015 13:30

Purdey I read your message to Sparkly about mc messing up with hormones, I can't say for sure but as time has gone on i am wondering if i had a mmc last June, i was late for two weeks, felt sick and kept wanting to fall a sleep when ever i got the chance,I never got a positive on a pregnancy test, so i thought that i could not be, but i have read that for a mmc you may not get one, i put it down to taking pregnacare, i stopped taking them and have started taking them again in January and have been ever since and i am totally fine on them, as you know i am another spotter and think that what you said about mc messing with your hormones, I will never be able to tell if i did have a mc but i just somehow wanted to write about what i think, it could be complete and utter shite my thinking and maybe i was just unlucky and had a bad batch of pregnancare!! you can slap me with a fish if you like!!!!

nightandthelight · 10/04/2015 13:47

So glad to hear that the bleeding hasn't turned into an mc Autumn thanks for updating us! Wishing you all the best for your MW appt, hopefully that will help to reassure you :)

Mummyofonesofar · 10/04/2015 13:47

Rainy I was late on pregnacare on my cycle 1 of trying and have had normal cycles since not using it but I just ordered some more pregnacare to try again. So will reoprt back if I am late again. But I analysed all the ingredients and the B vits that could lengthen LP were in such small doses I don't understand how they could have caused it. I decided that I must have ov'd alot later than FF thought. If your ov date was right it could have been a mmc. Flowers

Mummyofonesofar · 10/04/2015 13:48

Autumn yes I remember, I am glad the bleeding has stopped and your are still pregnant! Enjoy your first MW appt, very pleased for you Flowers

Rainy34 · 10/04/2015 14:00

DizzyMerry · 10/04/2015 14:40

Autumn I'm so glad the bleeding has stopped. I wish you all the best and hope your appointment with the midwife goes well and reassures you Flowers

tessiegirl · 10/04/2015 14:44

Ah, Autumn I was only thinking of you when I was making lunch earlier and was planning on asking if anyone had heard from you. So pleased that the bleeding didn't continue and everything looks ok. Hopefully you will feel even better once you have had the midwife app Flowers

Rainy I think Pregnacare delayed ovulation for me when I took them...came off and all went back to normal...

Thanks for keeping your fx for me everyone....ugh...this is horrible. No spotting to report so far though Smile

Mummyofonesofar · 10/04/2015 15:18

frog surely if it is for dental health reasons rather cosmetic, which is what I would think if they have recommended them then surely you could get your xrays done now and then free braces on t'NHS?

purdiepie · 10/04/2015 15:22

Autumn, I am thrilled for you! Please keep updating us. I hope you have a joyful seven months Thanks

Rainy, a missed miscarriage is one that is only confirmed when you go for a scan and they tell you the baby died in recent days or weeks. It also called a 'silent' miscarriage as there are little or no miscarriage symptoms which makes the announcement at the scan all the more horrifying. What you are speaking of is a chemical pregnancy, whereby a woman tests early, gets a BFP, but then AF turns up. Although, seeing as all your tests were BFNs we can't even say it was one of those. It is, therefore, more likely that you ov'd late or had an anovulatory cycle (which is perfectly normal).

MelonMelon · 10/04/2015 15:36

Afternoon all. TGIF! So I've been quite under the weather today, had a weird episode of being sick and also having very skaky limbs (couldn't hold my phone!). Wtf is going on!

ibeka · 10/04/2015 15:41

rainy i think even with a chemical pregnancy you get a BFP. So although it is possible you got a false negative I think they are really, really rare - like one in a gazillion. With my MMC there were no signs at all - no spotting, no cramping, no nothing. Just a far-too-small embryo at the first scan. I had BFPs the whole way through. The last one I did was the day before the last scan - the second line came up even before the control line. I did a CB digi after my ski holiday at a time I now know it had been dead a week - it told me 3 weeks + preggo. Even since the surgery they have stayed positive and can do for up to 4 weeks. It takes a while for your body to stop producing the hGc hormone. That's why MMCs are just so cruel.... (self-indulgent simpering over - sorry)

MrsB - I hear you on the fertile-after-MC front.

froggy - I admire your ironing prowess. I refuse to acknowledge our iron's existence and hence both DP and I go to work looking like we've been dragged through a hedge backwards most days.

Autumn - I really have all my fingers crossed for you. Please be very forceful about your concerns with the MW and if you have any bleeding again or any bad pains go straight to A&E and ask for a referral to your local early pregnancy clinic.

purds - I admire your take on forgiveness. It is what I try to to teach my students. Unfortunately there are far too few people willing to take the approach you do.

purdiepie · 10/04/2015 15:49

All braces are for cosmetic reasons, Mummy, I think. My sister got 3k's worth done for free when she was preggo. They don't do that any more Hmm

I am procrastinating. My bezzie (not the preggo one) is coming for the evening as DH is out at AA and I'm making chunky butternut mulligatawny. I can't be arsed peeling, de-seeding or chopping the damned squash or peeling and chopping shallots. I just want to go outside and watch my plants grow.

Oh..the preggo bezzie with the annihilated insides and pre-pubescent fiance is coming tomorrow night so I can grill her.

Rainy34 · 10/04/2015 15:51

Thanks girls, I'm glad then that it wasn't, must have just been an extra dodgy month for me!!

purdiepie · 10/04/2015 15:52

Ibeka, when you have been forgiven yourself you have a deeper awareness of others' ability to to debase themselves and hurt the people around them. How can I not forgive others who are remorseful when I myself have been forgiven for all the damage I did? It is so liberating, too, to forgive someone else. I don't think you can be fully free if you have hatred in your heart.

ibeka · 10/04/2015 15:52

purdie if you cook them long enough, you don't have to peel butternut squashes - the skin goes soft, is quite tasty and full of fibre...

Just been for a 2 hour bike ride round Richmond park and along the river. Lovely, but it was a bit like this pic....

The Bumsnet/Angry Pubes Bus #2... BFPs for the taking!
ibeka · 10/04/2015 15:54

I agree entirely, Purdie. I just wish more people could see it like that. They would be so much happier....

nightandthelight · 10/04/2015 15:55

Mine wasn't cosmetic Purdie, I had a tooth that had no space to grow so was burrowing back into my gum. Was bumped up the waiting list past all the cosmetic ones :)

Mummyofonesofar · 10/04/2015 15:55

Another thing taken out the mix then, straight teeth, bigger boobs, perfect vaginas - only to be gained in the NHS by the lucky ones!!!

ibeka · 10/04/2015 16:01

Autumn, just re-read my post and realised it's probably made you worry more... Sorry. So so stupid. I am sure your little bean is fine - it is very common to have a bit of blood loss early on and if it has settled then that is a very good sign, as is the nausea. However, having been through a MMC I know that the earlier things are known and resolved the better. The limbo of not knowing is torturous. At my hospital it is routine to do a reassurance scan for anyone who has had bleeding. That's why I say be forceful about your worries with the MW. If you can get an early scan and see that little heartbeat then you will save yourself 4 more weeks of anxiety as by this point, if there is a HB then the chances of anything going wrong are very slim indeed.

tessiegirl · 10/04/2015 16:08

I never really knew what the definition of a mmc was until just reading back...how awful Sad and to have no symptoms and get positive tests...

Just ordering some wellies....need...a...distraction!!!!!!!

Autumn2014 · 10/04/2015 16:19

No problem ibeka. I did talk the mw when I had the bleeding but nothing was offered. I suppose that's why I am still erring on the side of caution. Still not joined any antenatal netmum threads for that reason too...

Pixa · 10/04/2015 16:23

So much to catch up on here ladies! But, I will only catch up after I have been to buy my nutritional bible (research source for all of those lovely supps( and four magnums from Iceland Grin
