Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Easter Smile

You take your temp every morning before you do ANYTHING else, preferably at the same time and after at least three hours solid sleep. This of course never happens to us bfing mothers. Angry

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:18

Your temperature should rise by .2 degrees Celsius or more day AFTER ovulation, and stay elevates for at least three days to confirm ovulation.

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:19

It will then take big dip on the day AF is due. If it doesn't and stays elevated and AF stays away it could indicate pregnancy.

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:22

SImpolitic sciency bit is that progesterone produced at ovulation by corpus luteum increases temp, and oestrogen again produced when corpus luteum dies then lowers body temp again.

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:23

Basically you're tracking temp to help you pinpoint ovulation in conjunction with cm and OPKs. And to stare at hopefully after ovulation.

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:25

my temps are all over the show as a result of inconsistent sleep patterns. It happens. Hopefully you can still see a pattern for ovulation!

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:26

Oh and of course prolactin also affects body temp so things will be weird from that as well. Your actual temps (high or low in general) are not NB. It is only the shifts in temperature which matters.

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 16:26

Phew!

auxiliaryauroch · 05/04/2015 17:10

Simpolitic? Wtf? Simplistic!

Leamice · 05/04/2015 18:50

Happy Easter ladies, I think I've caught up on today's messages, my dh has been working nights this weekend so I'm crazy busy looking after DS and trying but failing to keep on top of house work.

I haven't lost my pregnancy weight, I blame the emergency c section, did a lot of comfort eating following DS birth as was feeling all sorry for myself having failed my birth plan haha!
So I'm on CD100!! I think 10dpo, so POAS, BFN - well evap, the worst kind of bfn as they kind of get your hopes up. I don't even know why I'm testing so early didn't even get a faint line until 13dpo with my DS.
Is anyone else testing soon?

Duchess007 · 05/04/2015 19:30

Thanks for explaining temping Aux, that's really helpful. I am hoping to start temping next cycle.

I'm testing tomorrow Leamice, though not feeling very hopeful Hmm Have absolutely no AF symptoms or pregnancy symptoms so I don't think I've ovulated. I def had symptoms before testing when I was pregnant with DD so don't think I'll be getting a BFP. It will be CD40 tomorrow and DH will be home for bank holiday, so at least I will have some company!

Hoe you guys have all had a lovely Easter Thanks

Mumof1sofar · 05/04/2015 19:54

Thanks aux. I think I'll try temping next cycle too (obvs unless I get a bfp!) Smile

I haven't lost my pregnancy weight yet either. I've started doing some post-natal workout DVDs recently & would 100% recommend Tracey Anderson's. She trains Gweneth Paltrow & Shakira (these hips don't lie!) I've been doing it for 2 weeks & can already see a difference Smile

Duchess007 · 05/04/2015 20:24

Ooops, correction - tomorrow is CD41 for me. If I get a bfn I really hope AF doesn't take too much longer to arrive!

Leamice · 05/04/2015 20:46

Im not 100% sure I ovulated either, I know my body was trying. If I ever start my next cycle I will be temping too I think as hate not knowing where I am properly. I might invest in some better opks too, I've been using the really cheap dip sticks off amazon.
Good luck with your test tomorrow Duchess :)

Thanks for the workout recommendation Mumo, I did start exercising but then I went on holiday and since we've returned DS naps are too short for me to exercise and do the housework and sit on my bum catching up on TV. Grin

eggsnbeans · 05/04/2015 21:18

Don't worry too much about missing a day Pear, you're more lookingto confirm ovulation. Not everyone gets the ov dip (I don't always) and can take a couple of days for temps to rise after ov too veteran temper!
I never get 4hrs sleep in a row these days, esp not early morning!

Very Envy that you lost preggy weight overnight Aux! Dd1 I was about 6w, Dd2 about 3m, although I still have my mummy tummy this time Angry have told dh he's buying me surgery for my 40th Wink

Good luck for testing Duchess and Lea

Is TCOYF good Puggle? Anything revolutionary? Always on the look out for new ideas here!

Hope your temp stays up tomorrow Ava! Sounds promising anyway.

2 preg announcements and nb squishy baby from my friends this week. EnvyEnvyEnvy

AvaAmulet · 05/04/2015 22:46

Leam, I'd been using the cheap sticks off Amazon and had thought they were pretty rubbish too...until I finally got my first no-mistaking positive ov line last cycle, first time since I started last August! I even gave up on them for a month or so as I thought they were so pants. Now I love them and have bought a new bunch for this cycle, lol Easter Grin

Thanks Eggs, I don't know why my temp was higher this am (poss milder weather??) but this is definitely a 'proper' AF iykwim, like I had last month (and unlike the namby-pamby ones I had for six months before that Hmm) so I'm expecting it to drop below my cover line soon...Sadx

Leamice · 05/04/2015 22:55

Perhaps I'm not ovulating then or thinking positively, my surge was just short and I missed it (the former is more likely lol) thanks for sharing your experience Ava.
I'll stick with them for now.

Mumof1sofar · 05/04/2015 22:58

Good luck testing tomo duchess Smile

Mumof1sofar · 06/04/2015 07:35

Day 9 flashing smiley ???!!! SadSadAngryAngryConfusedConfused

peardrop2 · 06/04/2015 08:33

Mumofone - maybe start DTD EOD?

peardrop2 · 06/04/2015 08:36

Mumofone - are you checking your cm?

Mumof1sofar · 06/04/2015 09:56

Thanks pear. We didn't do it yesterday actually as at in laws. I think I have got more cm than usual & it seems quite clear (sorry if tmi)- good sign?? I'm never going to get pregnant if I don't ovulate ConfusedConfused

Duchess007 · 06/04/2015 10:00

Bfn on CD41 for me. Will test again at the end of the week if AF has still not arrived. More disappointed than I thought I would be Sad I'm sure lots of Easter chocolate will cheer me up! Wink

It's a lovely sunny day here so just getting ready to take DD to the park. Have a lovely morning ladies.

Mumof1sofar · 06/04/2015 10:06

Sorry to hear that duchess. How many dpo are you now?

auxiliaryauroch · 06/04/2015 13:26
