Yes, we know all about how emotional and hard it can be! All the pros and cons, all about missing Aunty Flo's and wtf cycles with no ovulation, all about children being cute and pointy. No matter if you are five months or twenty months down the breastfeeding timeline, if you're ttc again, this is the thread to join! Welcome! Easter Smile

Ava, you totally deserved that carrot cake! Clearly a bit of overindulging has done you no harm so far, with all your admirers ;) hilarious!

Pear, hearing about those friends of yours must be really hard. Still, maybe they'll get a high needs baby that doesn't sleep and you'll have to wait a bit longer but get a lovely mellow one who just gurgles and smiles. Fingers crossed! evil grin

We have had some success today! On the weaning front, at least. Apparently while I was at the supermarket yesterday, DH and DD had a little chat and she assured him she would give up BM if she could have hot chocolate in a bottle while being cuddled and watching tv. So er, that's what we've done. And she hasn't had any BM at all, all day, despite us being together all day long. So her last feed was briefly at 5.30 in bed, and she's now gone off to bed happily without it. SUCCESS!

MarysPrayer · 24/05/2015 19:46

Lea, sorry your cycle isn't behaving itself.

Ava your healthy eating is putting me to shame. I lost all my baby weight within about three months. Unfortunately I'm still eating as though we're ebf still. Blush

Well done on the weaning progress wax. Dd didn't ask at bedtime tonight. So yesterday morning may have been her last feed. Feel both sad and happy. It's bittersweet isn't it?

Pear I'm secretly willing my friends who have had easy 1st babies to have more difficult ones next time. Then they'll know what it's like! evil, me?!

Trinpy · 24/05/2015 20:05

Don't give in to poas temptation pear! If it's too early to show a clear bfp then you'll just end up feeling rubbish unnecessarily.

One of my colleagues announced her pregnancy last week only 2 days after getting her bfp! She is very very excited and has been talking about everything baby and pregnancy related ever since. Constantly. I may have to avoid her for a few days if I get a bfn this month...

peardrop2 · 24/05/2015 20:19

Wow, well done Wax and Mumofone on the weaning front! Sad that it has to come to an end but nice for you that you've come so far and that it hasn't been a traumatic ending Smile

Thanks Trimpy. I've managed not to POAS. Mainly because I couldn't handle any more disappointment! Also, I am determined to fall pregnant without spending anymore money on it!

Wax, I've put my order in for a quiet one Wink

peardrop2 · 24/05/2015 20:22

Trimpy that is crazy that she is telling people so soon! How old is she?

peardrop2 · 24/05/2015 20:23

Mary - I've been secretly hoping second ones are harder for some too Grin Unfortunately those friends seem to be having just an easy time second round because they give formula and don't bf!

MarysPrayer · 24/05/2015 20:26

But they'll be plagued by ear infections and constipation Sad

peardrop2 · 24/05/2015 20:39

Well my ds suffered from very bad constipation because of reflux for the first 6 months of his life but not one ear infection. Interesting! Did not realise about the ear infections!

Is everyone taking omega 3 capsules as well as folic acid?

Trinpy · 24/05/2015 22:19

pear she is 25. I think she's wanted a baby for a while now but her Dh wasn't keen until very recently so it probably feels like she's been waiting ages. She was panicking the other day that she still hasn't decided on a furniture set for the baby's room Grin.

Trinpy · 24/05/2015 22:24

I'm just taking pregnancy multivitamins because they are cheaper than the conception/breastfeeding ones. I didn't know we were supposed to take omega 3 Blush.

And yy to ff babies sleeping better. I don't know anyone who bf on demand and had a baby who sttn. Impossible to sleep train when they wake up every 3 hours for a feed (bitter experience)!

AvaAmulet · 24/05/2015 22:24

Wax, well done on the feeding (or lack of) front! You've given me hope! We still bf to sleep most night though Confused

Mary, I was exactly the same, I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight within a few months but then almost half a stone had crept back on without me really noticing. I too was eating as if I was feeding around the clock still. Ahh, the good old days where I had an excuse lol Blush Grin

No ear infections here either Grin one bout of constipation though when introducing solids at 6 months Wink

Oh and the general consensus from folk in RL if that DH would in fact have been peeved about Subway guy but isn't letting on. I'm not convinced, but I guess I'd find out for sure how he feels if I suggest we get a late night subway fix again next Friday lol Grin all the evilness on here is obviously affecting me too hehe Grin Grin Grin

peardrop2 · 24/05/2015 23:19

Trinpy - I don't know whether we're meant to be taking omega 3. Some of the pregnacare packets sell it with...hence my confusion Smile Don't panic!

Mumof1sofar · 24/05/2015 23:43

Haha Ava, that's hilarious Smile Always nice to get a compliment!

Lea, good luck with the healthy eating plan. Now I've cut down bf-ing I am starting to try & eat more healthily. For the last year I've had such a big appetite! Blush

Grr pear, poor you! It's tough to hear news like that.

Wow wax, that's brilliant about your dd. Smile Well done!

Pear, I'm now taking the pregnancies tablets with added omega 3. Previously was taking the bf-ing ones but these can be used throughout pregnancy& bf-ing so seem more useful (fx!) Btw when are you testing?

Mumof1sofar · 24/05/2015 23:44

*pregnacare not pregnancies! Silly predictive text!

peardrop2 · 25/05/2015 00:20

Mumofone - I'm testing at 12dpo on Friday but realistically I will crack and test at 11dpo!

Just woke up because I could hear banging noises. DH was not impressed that I woke him up too Hmm

Onecurrantbun · 25/05/2015 00:24

Lea good on for you for healthy eating. Falling off the wagon is ok Ava just back on the horse tomorrow.... or Tuesday, bank holidays are made for ice cream and pub lunches! I am on week 5 of couch to 5k and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve fitness

wax well done on weaning, you obviously have a well adjusted little one who is adaptable too

I got a positive opk at 6pm! Yay. I am feeling energised and positive (whilst knowing it won't be this month due to it being first time!) It's just great to know I'm oving Smile

Trinpy · 25/05/2015 07:02

Yay One we can struggle through the tww together! I got another positive opk last night so maybe not ovulating until today now. Let the crazy symptom spotting commence Smile.

peardrop2 · 25/05/2015 07:18

Congrats Yay and Trinpy for positive OPks Smile

Trinpy was it you asking about OPKs? I would recommend the cb dual hormone smiley sticks. I've been using them on the cb trial and they've picked up more high days than my cbfm or cheapie OPKs.

Ava have you tested yet?

peardrop2 · 25/05/2015 08:21

I think I'll give temping a miss next month and just rely on my cb smiley sticks. Although I have loved seeing the evidence of OV this month it has definitely made me think more and over analyse more and I'm currently on the edge of my seat waiting for the next rise or dip. It was great until it started disrupting my sleep this week where I am now waking at all hours panicking that I've not taken my temperature at the correct time BlushShock I wouldn't say that temping helped me dtd at the right times because you can't really see the results until much later. It does help to know what dpo you're though!! Maybe for me I should temp until I see OV and then stop as I was fine before the 2ww. Maybe it's just the general 2ww that is pushing me over the edge!! I'm so close to the end now just got to hang in there! What will I do if it's a bfn? How am I going to manage this months disappointment? That's what I keep thinking Sad

AvaAmulet · 25/05/2015 09:05

Congratulations on the positive opks Trinpy and One! And it is always possible to get pg the first time, One Wink Good luck, both Smile

Oh Pear, sorry you feel that way. I have woken up naturally on occasion and wondered if it's time to take my temperature, only to find it's 2am Shock but it must be so disruptive to have it happen all week Hmm

No AF here - yet - but could come at any time. Before I had DD it was always first thing in the morning on the day AF was due, without fail, regular as clockwork. That's how I just knew I was pg Wink Since AF returning though it can happen at any time during the day, and a couple if days either side if when it's due. so I'm definitely still expecting it.

Another bfn here btw, and that's both my tests gone wasted now, no others in the house Hmm

autonomousplum · 25/05/2015 09:23

ava sorry about the repeat bfn. It does sound cautiously promising though? Hmm
pear if temping stresses you out don't do it. However maybe you can try just around ov time? For about three or five days before and three or four days after? Less worry and will help confirm ov?
Also please please don't worry about the right time. Or taking it everyday. Big patterns! Open dots don't matter on the chart, and the exact temperatures don't matter. Just big patterns! Grin
Smile

AvaAmulet · 25/05/2015 11:33

You're right Auto, added stress us not good. I try not to be too rigid with temping, otherwise I'd drive myself crazy. I allow myself a three hour temping window and missed a couple of days all together while on hols Wink

Still no sign of AF and I don't feel as greedy hungry as yesterday Confused

I'm so glad I keep the minimum of sticks at home due to my poas addiction or I'd be tempted to keep testing Blush wish it would hurry up and get here though, as I'll need to order more ic opks in time for my next fertile window Hmm x

AvaAmulet · 25/05/2015 11:34

stress is not good Hmm

Mumof1sofar · 25/05/2015 16:48

Ava sorry about bfns - they really suck! Could just be too early though.

Yay for ov one & trinpy!

Pear, not long to go now! Vent to us all you need until Fri- the 2ww is so hard!

Cd9 for me & so far still low fertility. Last month I got my high on cd15 though so I'm hoping it won't be too much longer to wait Smile

AvaAmulet · 25/05/2015 18:39

Won't be long now, Mumo Smile

Still no sign of AF Hmm Trying to stop DH getting his hopes up - I'm sure AF will arrive it's just a matter of when... Hmm
