Hi,

Wondering if anyone can help, was due AF Thursday just gone and started spotting brown, which I have done everyday since so just assumed AF was arriving!
I only came off the pull mid December so although AF regular in jan and feb, I thought it was just a little delayed now and I wasnt preggers! I came home from work this evening and as I've barely had any discharge all day and just some mild cramping! No other symptoms I took a cheapo waitrose test, I think I saw a very faint line DH not convinced! It wasn't a concentrated wee!! Sorry TMI! No more test but thought I'd do an opk which resulted in this photo!? Any ideas?

Can't wait to get to the shop in the am and buy a test!!x

Either late ovulation or pregnant

Did you ovulate a fortnight ago?

Pic of waitrose test please

lucjam · 14/03/2015 23:32

I should think that congrats are in order! I've only ever had a positive opk when pregnant (never got them when ovulating for some reason unless i just missed it every time). Best get yourself a proper test. Exciting!

Bumpingalong84 · 14/03/2015 23:44

Hi thanks for replying! I am not sure if I ovulated or not to be honest, as never got a positive this strong so just worked with dates really, I had AF mid jan, 28after post pull bleed then again mid feb so assumed cycle had gone back to normal! No symptoms at all just this brown spotting! I'm a nurse and just finished a 12hour shift and now I wish I'd got another pregnancy test on my way home! Freaking out now with DH snoring away half tempted to go to 24hr tesco!!! Smile

As for the cheapo waitrose one, don't laught, but I tried to move a piece of fluff off the window and scratched it by accident Bahh, I'll upload one but it'll be rubbish! I just wanted to know if people have had positive opks and been pregnant or had brown spotting at start of pregnant. Keep trying to convince myself it not true so I'm not disappointed, we've only been trying 2mths!

Do another test

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 00:11

I will be first thing tomorrow, I was just convinced AF was here so didn't buy any test this month! Will be out to the shops if still no AF tomorrow morning!

slithytove · 15/03/2015 00:26

I think I can see a line, can you take the test apart

slithytove · 15/03/2015 00:27

Or go to 24 hours Tesco! But check the times online first in case it's different with it being Sunday tm

slithytove · 15/03/2015 00:28

I tested the positive opk theory when I was definitely pregnant, and it was true. Darkest opk I'd ever had.

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 00:47

I've never had an opk this dark! It's so weird in the car on my way home from work I just thought it's weird AF hadn't started! I've had a fair bit of brown spotting is that normal? I shall be testing first thing in the morning, too late to head to the shops! Can't sleep now, reading loads of people's experiences! Thanks for the replies ladies.

Thought I'd be chilled out about this whole baby making business!!

I was very late finding out I was pregnant with DC1 as was having brown spotting on and off which I just presumed was period settling down after coming off the pill. I had a number of positive OPKs during this time which were clearly positive because I was already pregnant. Smile

Good luck for the morning test!

slithytove · 15/03/2015 01:05

Spotting and cramping is normal yes, I had it from implantation till about 7 weeks

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 01:07

Thank you, I'm so nervous. Just want to fall asleep but can't switch off! I Was so convinced I was out this month and was just thinking ahead for next cycle! I'll update in the morning! I've never had a positive opk and with shift work found it hard to use opks! EekConfused

Would be a lovely Mother's Day present. I hope you get your positive. Get a few cheapy tests and a cb digital to confirm x

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 01:23

I know I thought that! Tho it would be very early days and my best friend who's also trying has just had a miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks. But I'd be excited and scared if I get a BFP!! Yikes x

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 01:24

Do you know if the CB are as accurate as the FRER?

OP posts:
slithytove · 15/03/2015 07:17

I've never had an early postitive with frer, hate them lol
I find cheapies the best

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 08:21

I'm just waiting till 10 for my local Superdrug to open! Had a bad nights sleep, kept dreaming about being pregnant! Bahh cramps still feeling pulling every now and again and keep feeling like AF will surely arrive! Nothing tho, not even spotting over night! ! I'm on CD30now so 2-3days late I guess. Not long now and I'll get to test. Just not sure wether to splash out on a CB or just a cheapie!

OP posts:
slithytove · 15/03/2015 08:30

Both
Take cheapie first, post pics here
If it's positive, take digital

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 08:31

That's a good idea, have you ever tried sainsburys own?

OP posts:
slithytove · 15/03/2015 08:36

No but I think all the cheap tests are pretty good. Super drug and Tesco especially.

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 08:42

Ahh I shall try the Superdrug one then as its right next to saisburys! So nervous, can't wait till 10am!! Typical it's a Sunday Smile

BiggerYellowTaxi · 15/03/2015 08:46

Superdrug tests are better than Sainsburys ones. Given your symptoms and the positive OPK I'd say you're pregnant. Good luck for later!

Grantaire · 15/03/2015 08:52

All tests are fine. Some are more sensitive, slightly, than others but a negligible amount when your period is already late. Digitals are less sensitive generally, ridiculously expensive too. Any brand is fine. If you are a position to choose, the only criteria I would use are pink dye if possible and avoid +/- tests.

Bumpingalong84 · 15/03/2015 08:55

Are Superdrug ones pink dye then? Would you get a FRER then over a digital one? Are the cramps normal? They are not painful enough for painkillers, but I am very aware of a pulling kinda pain really low down in my tummy. Ahh I just want to know now! And holding wee in haha
