How many of you got pregnant first time round?

Hi everyone!

I've been ttc for about 5 months although the first few months were just a 'if it happens it happens' sort of thing, and with being busy I don't think I BD'd at the right time. So ive been planning it around ovulation but I'm yet to get my BFP although i haven't been using ovulation prediction kits which is something im going to try this month.

I was just wondering who actually got pregnant first time round? I think it always gives me more hope seeing people who get pregnant first time round!

I did, with DS! Came off the pill in Jan, he was born October.

I did with DD1. In fact it was before the first time really. We'd planned that we would start ttc in july but actually got a bfp in may!

I did :)

Had prepared for two years though throughly focusing on charting cycles, using OPKs, temping, diets for both of us, vitamins etc, and February 2015 was always the plan to begin TTC.

Conceived Valentines Day February 2015 and got bfp at 9 DPO.

Me. Dtd three times in one week. 37weeks and 6 days later, our twin boys were born. Gadzooks.

I had sex once in the "window" that you can get preganant in with my husband and boom pregnant

I was 34 and him 37 & he smoked like a chimney to.

Me. First time at 26, then again at 32, again at 34 which resulted in a chemical pg/loss at 6 weeks but was pregnant again straight after that.
Tubes are now well tied I hope!

1st baby took 2 years to conceive. I'm pregnant again (thinking it would take forever again)- conceived first time this time. Slightly shocked by the speediness.

I did, twice, with DS and DD. I was 37 and 39 and very lucky.

Nope. I have had 5 bfps (3 ended in early miscarriage). Each one happened on my third cycle of ttc except this latest one which seems to be a sticky bean which happened first cycle if ttc after a break for tests. I took agnus castus to try and shorten my 42 day cycle before this bfp. Still don't know if it made a difference. Long cycle means 3rd cycle equates to 5ish months ttc each time.

I did, several times. One mc, but the other two are now in their teens.

Once I'd had the last one, I sent DH to the vets

Yes. All three times. I have a three year old DD, then miscarried last year and am now 13 weeks pregnant.

Each time we tried it took less than a month to conceive.

1st pg (miscarried) - just the once. Unplanned.

Dc1: 17 months

Dc2: One month (unplanned)

I get pg really easily....as long as I'm not trying!

Do you mean in the first month of trying by 'first time round'? I did with both pregnancies, just dtd on random days, didn't bother with ovulation charts etc.

Yes with #2 and 3.

1st one took 8 years of trying.

All 5madthings conceived the first month of trying. Actually we didn't try for number one, he was a one off as we were at uni. Ho um.

Also had three early miscarriages again conceived within a month, basically as soon as we don't use contraception I get pregnant.

Yes - three times resulting in dd1 , miscarriage(12 weeks) then dd2. Overall I've been very fortunate but still feel sad about miscarriage between my girls.

I've had 5 pregnancies, 2 miscarriages. The miscarriages were both first month of trying fresh off the pill (dianette and yasmin respectively - actually the second one wasn't even trying just missed a few pills)
The other 3 (dd1, d2 and dc3 due in June) were 2nd month trying.

I did, twice. Both times I knew when we were going to start ttc so I was taking folic acid and multi vits well in advance and also checking my cycle so I knew when fertile days were when the time came.

No special positions, pillows, legs in the air or anything. I would say if in doubt about your days, go early! Your window is actually very short, I don't think it is 1-2 days, would be more inclined to say less than a day and you can often have already missed the window by the time you realise.

Yes. Three times (though first one ended in mc). Each time we had sex just once at the right time and got pregnant. It did at least make me feel I hadn't been wasting the contraception previously!

Yes we did. Used ovulation test sticks which I believe helped as I ovulated slightly later than I thought I did.
