pulpi · 20/03/2015 14:52

Dizzy True, but the DH had a bad fever mid-January when he came down with the chickenpox, so it'll be May before it's all systems go. Still, practice makes perfect!

mummyofonesofar · 20/03/2015 15:12

Hi newcomers! sorry AF got you.

Mumof1sofar Glad to see you changed your mind name twin Grin

Mumof1sofar · 20/03/2015 15:29

Thank you mummy Smile

Southy84 · 20/03/2015 15:50

Hi everyone, just got back from the dreaded smear test and was telling the nurse we are ttc, she said I have a tilted cervix and that it may be a good idea to lie on my stomach when DTD... Never heard this before anyone else been told this? willing to give anything a go though!

spinningirl10 · 20/03/2015 15:55

Merry, about 11am and 5pm ish. Maybe one later in the day if the line is dark and you're expecting the surgeSmile

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/03/2015 16:18

Mmm spinning now you've got me thinking about testing more than once a day , not sure if I can manage it though, it's already tricky enough what with planning ahead to avoid fluids before and making sure I do it without DP noticing lol.

southy that's interesting & worth a try?

BananaRaces · 20/03/2015 16:45

Right, that's it, I've caved and bought a thermometer! It's being delivered early next week. Hopefully temping will help me out and not just confuse me even more! Grin

MelonMelon · 20/03/2015 17:05

Grrrr can I rant? I havr crossed my legs for 4 hours to save a wee (sorry tmi) to do an opk with once I got home from work. Got home, done the test and got an error message! Now I have to wait another 4 hours and have wasted a stick!

tessiegirl · 20/03/2015 17:06

Hi all, been busy in the kitchen this afternoon making a banana loaf then courgette and brie soup....also making DH birthday cake tomorrow when he is watching the rugby!

Southy that is really interesting about your tilted cervix, that is good to know. I have heard people laying on their stomachs after dtd because of this, anything is worth a try!!

Sorry to those got by AF Sad but this is a lucky bus! Shamrock

Hoping temping will help you out Banana!

Dizzy I too test twice a day when trying to catch the LH surge...

spinningirl10 · 20/03/2015 17:36

Melon, always pee in a pot and dip the test. That way you can do another if it fails. Very annoying!

spinningirl10 · 20/03/2015 17:36

Ooh Tessie, the cake and soup sounds lovelySmile

loopylou1984 · 20/03/2015 17:40

Interesting Southy - worth a try if say!! Although if I lay on my yummy after I can feel, ahem, stuff leaking out! Xx

tessiegirl · 20/03/2015 17:53

Yeah that is true Sammy - maybe try a softcup Southy to keep everything inside!!

Thanks spinning - made a big batch of soup to keep me going a while!

Sweets27 · 20/03/2015 17:58

Welcome banana, pulpi, mumof1 and fx for you all! This is so far a really positive and excited bus - Christmas babies all round!! Grin

southy that is interesting. I do often get really worried that I won't get my BFP simply because so much seems to leak out after dtd, whatever position I try. Anyone remember who it was on the Feb or March bus who invented the Kebab? I've tried that many times now! Grin But in all seriousness I do wonder if for all of my healthy eating, opk-ing, etc., I might be screwed over by not actually keeping the little swimmers inside me for long enough! Anyone else get concerned about that?

Sweets27 · 20/03/2015 18:03

Oh and tessie yes I do keep meaning to try a softcup. Maybe I will. But for those of you that don't - and apologies if this is tmi - do you actually find very much leaks out, or am I in a minority?

DizzyMerry · 20/03/2015 18:06

pulpi a practice cycle could be the lucky one
spinning those times would suit me better as I always find it difficult to keep up testing at work
southy that's worth trying. I have a retroverted uterus and read about all the different positions that would help but didn't try any

spinningirl10 · 20/03/2015 18:06

Sweets. I think it's the norm for it to leak out but there are masses of sperm and it only takes oneSmile

Sweets27 · 20/03/2015 18:10

Thanks spinning. I guess I always assumed that too, it's only since starting ttc that I've become paranoid about things like this!

loopylou1984 · 20/03/2015 18:18

Sweets - I always get leakage, and before ttc used to joke to dh that it was a wonder anyone ever gets pregnant (yes, I regret that joke now!).

Since I've started staying laid down with my bum on a pillow though I don't seem to lose as much.

However, I've been told before that all the good ones will be well on their way as soon as they're in, and any that leak out with the semen wouldn't have been any good anyway. Xx

Southy84 · 20/03/2015 18:41

This is crazy but feel quite excited about trying new positions this month, not hit peak day yet so this piece of news has come at a good time. Weirdly (tmi alert) I got pregnant after a week away with dh and a lot of DTD in different positions - maybe playing it safe with missionary is not the key!

melon totally get your frustration that happened to me last month, I was so annoyed I could have thrown the stupid thing out the window! I did a test after finishing wrk that day instead and got my first flashy smiley which cheered me up though. Just waiting for a sign of smiley this month...

MelonMelon · 20/03/2015 19:00

Thanks southy. I just had a little melt down. Thank goodness my DH is so supportive! It's so hard with all the added pressure and uncertainty this month Sad Feel like I'm blowing my chances will all this stress but I can't snap out of it!

Southy84 · 20/03/2015 19:32

I've been doing hypnotherapy because I've been feeling the same melon and I have to say it really has helped. If you don't mind me asking why uncertainty this month? It's so hard to not think about it all the time. You haven't blown your chances, people go through stresses and miracles happen and it will happen for you Flowers keep smiling I know it's hard sometimes x

MelonMelon · 20/03/2015 19:38

I had a miscarriage last year and my due date was April 2nd so i'll either get a BFP or my AF on that day now. I'm honestly considering something like that. I need to feel like I've had a spa day and chill the feck out!

Southy84 · 20/03/2015 19:50

So sorry melon I didn't realise, that will be a tough day for you no matter what and a spa day sounds like a great idea, something to look forward to. I know it's easy for me to say but it will get easier, I remember when I got to my due date and I just cried, now I don't think about it so much- there will always be a thought of the baby we sadly lost but time does heal. I spoke to my hypnotherapist about my permanent worry of getting pregnant again and losing the baby, but she made me look at it slightly differently. Maybe speaking to someone will help you. Sending you hugs
