Here's hoping this month is THE one!

Hi sammy, yeah a low progesterone issue has crossed my mind before, not had a test for it yet though as last month was the first time I've temped and noticed the odd pattern. Will see how the rest of this month pans out and then look at going to speak to my gp. Next month will be cycle 5 of trying anyway and they say see your gp if no luck after 6 months at my age lol.
I don't think I have any other symptoms to suggest low progesterone though, which is why I've not been too concerned yet.

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 19:46

What are other symptoms of low progesterone out of interest? Xx

DizzyMerry · 19/03/2015 20:11

I had low progesterone when I was ttc #1. My symptoms were pms and I am convinced the migraines I used to get were also a symptom and I get these very infrequently before a period now. I have endometriosis and this is caused by estrogen dominance so again I believe it is another symptom of low progesterone as hormones are imbalanced. The most common symptom according to specialists is spotting but interestingly I've never had this

Cariad2014 · 19/03/2015 20:17

Victoria - glad to hear you're not too down-heartened by the cancelled iui. Fabulous news on your DH's morphology though - it must be such a relief that you've managed to improve it.

Bit confused and looking for some light shedding if anyone can help??

(sorry, am mega new to this ttc stuff)

So my cycles are pretty normal but my bleed is incredibly short (two days max) and then nothing. CD1 was 5th March, AF lasted two days and then we DTD the following Friday and Sunday (CD9 and 11).

Today I have the slightest amount of spotting when I wipe. This is my first month ttc so I might be getting ahead of myself but could I have OV'd on CD9/10??? Does that work with my AF being so short? Could this be implantation?

OwEmGee · 19/03/2015 21:04

Forgot to add, I'm cd14 today

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 21:32

OwEm - I'm not sure, I guess it could be. How long are your cycles usually?
If your cycles are 28 days or so then it would seem more likely that it is ovulation bleeding? I've heard some people can get that. Xx

OwEmGee · 19/03/2015 21:42

Ah right, that would make way more sense! As I say, first month TTC for me so it's all a bit new and slightly terrifying. Thanks for the response Smile

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 21:48

No worries... I'd get your dh to bed if I were you Wink X

OwEmGee · 19/03/2015 21:50

I'd love to but I think I've exhausted him this week! DTD Friday, Sunday, Tuesday and last night. Hopefully if this is OV bleed then there's enough of the little blighters left over from last night to start getting busy Wink

loopylou1984 · 19/03/2015 22:10

Ah, I think you'll be ok then! Xx

DizzyNorthernBird · 19/03/2015 23:17

I usually get spotting but only for two days before af, I've heard that any more than this can suggest low progesterone. Interestingly the last two months the spotting seems to have stopped though, I'm not sure if this is because of me cutting down on caffeine and eating healthier or if the seven seas vits are working their magic?

merry when you say pms, what symptoms were you getting? I thought pms was normal?

DizzyMerry · 19/03/2015 23:36

Should have elaborated on the extent of pms dizzy. I used to get stomach cramps, tightening and bloating over a week before my period. I also used to get creamy discharge, which was sometimes curdled and awful anxiety. Another symptom of mine is leg cramp, which I still get. I used to think it was normal but my symptoms were quite severe and my gynaecologist linked it all to hormonal imbalance. Unfortunately, he was clueless how to rectify it! Thankfully apart from slight leg cramp and some pre AF stomaching cramping I have no other symptoms. I put up with It for years and drs said it was normal until I started having fertility investigations and found out what was actually wrong. Since having DD everything has calmed down

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/03/2015 00:41

Thanks merry, that's good to hear it's sorted itself out after DD. Hmm i don't get anything like that, only symptoms which I would class as 'normal' AF symptoms, cramps on cd1, sore boobs, moodiness etc. I did go through a phase a few months ago of vomiting on last day of AF but that seems to have stopped now. That was a weird one!

Hopefully the temps are just 'normal' for me, but will see how things go.

DizzyNorthernBird · 20/03/2015 00:51

sammy I had to google symptoms for low progesterone! Basically there's all sorts of symptoms, but those you'd expect to see with a hormonal imbalance, such as pms like merry says and other gynae issues. It's actually an interesting thing to read up on as from what I've read tonight it's supposedly quite common.

Sparkly123 · 20/03/2015 00:51

Hope everyone is ok! I've been popping between march/April bus and see most of you lot are the same! I prob should be here as BFP is due April! Good luck to all those Dtd at the mo! Fingers crossed ShamrockShamrockShamrockShamrockShamrockShamrock

coffeenut · 20/03/2015 05:56

Happy Friday everyone!

owemgee that sounds really confusing for you! I'm guessing you dont temp or use opks? They might be worth a try, if you're not at all sure when you ovulate.

nothing to report here. I'm guessing I'm officially on the 2ww, but still waiting for FF to confirm.

Found out my SIL is 6 weeks preggers - earlier than expected (and they wanted). It's DC2 for them and although they've never said anything, I wonder if it was difficult to conceive the first time around as she seemed very surprised that it happened "so soon" and wasn't ideal timing with her work situation.

loopylou1984 · 20/03/2015 06:53

Morning all Smile

I had a very odd dream last night that I told my colleague about our problems ttc but I also had 2 other random colleagues that I don't know very well in the room, plus a friend who doesn't even work with me! Lol.
Don't think I'll actually be telling any of them! Xx

mummyofonesofar · 20/03/2015 07:10

I got my cross hairs today, though my temp was taken at 3.50 (due to poorly boy in the night) it was still similar to the last 2 days so have popped it on the chart. Why does FF give a testing date so far away?!

loopylou1984 · 20/03/2015 07:26

Mummy - FF usually give me a predicted 14 LP so testing days seems ages away! They still haven't corrected my ov date to Tuesday which surprises me, maybe after a hight temp tomorrow....

nightandthelight · 20/03/2015 08:10

Happy Friday everyone!

mummyofonesofar · 20/03/2015 08:14

Sammy I don't think it will change your ov date. It goes by 3 temps higher than the last 6 and where it has pinpointed you matches that. You haven't had a substantial shift at all yet (should be more than 0.2) so I don't know if it is even showing ov yet. Do you have other charts? Can you like me to your FF homepage so I can have a look?

Ff has given me a test date of 5 April because I had a silly long cycle last month. But I think my real test date is 31 March.

roobanya · 20/03/2015 08:23

Hi everyone, mind if I join?

roobanya, 29, ttc#1, cycle 6, bfp due 9th April.

I've been lurking for a while and picking up loads of useful advice from you all. Agreed with DH back in October that we'd start TTC but without stressing too much about it. That's proved much easier for him it seems as I immediately became addicted to googling anything and everything! Anyway nothing has happened yet so we've agreed to start taking things more seriously and hence my first post on here!

Quick question... I've been temping just for the past cycle and FF confirmed ov as CD16. That cycle was 26 days and it's predicting ov this time round as cd17. However I've tried a couple of other ov calculators which predict it as up to 3 days earlier so wondering when to start dtd in earnest? I'm currently CD9 but I don't want DH to get tired out if it's too early!

mummyofonesofar · 20/03/2015 08:33

Welcome roobanya! I would go and get some opks. Last month I ovd cd18 but this month cd14, if I had gone by predictions I would have missed it! Cd digital dual hormone advanced one is only £25 at the moment and I would start testing from tomorrow.

If this ain't an option then I would try every other day from tomorrow or Sunday so you don't miss it. Have you spoke to your Gp about your 10 day LP. Not wanting to frighten you on your first post but it can indicate low progesterone.

loopylou1984 · 20/03/2015 08:38

Hi mummy

My temp has risen from 36.3 (highest under coverline) to 36.6 and higher do that's a .3 shift, so that confirms ov I think. I don't know how to link you to my FF... I'm using the app, is it possible? Xx
