I'm weaning you guys off the gin, it's not good for the eggies! Instead we have some of Sparkly's green gunk! Wink

Happy shagging/syringing! Grin

Yes spinning, good luck with the scan.

This is a bit of a random question for spinning &/or any other old timers on the bus but do any of you remember mama31? I only mention it as she was on the buses when I tried for my dc1 & I remember she used to always host the poas parties! She was so lovely, does anyone know if she got her bfp? Hope so x

auroraboringalis · 04/03/2015 15:03

Fyi radio4 now on your employment rights as expectant parent. So most of us don't have our bfps yet but obviously we're all getting them in the next two months, so very relevant!

KnitFastDieWarm · 04/03/2015 15:12

juney what a dick Angry what is wrong with people, honestly???

Does anyone use Ovia? It seems to give the fertile window as only up to the day AFTER you get a positive ov test - but I've also heard you should dtd for several days after a pos ov test (as advised by SMEP etc)

I got a positive ov test on Monday. So according to Ovia I am now out of my fertile period, but according to SMEP et al I should still be shagging away today and then again friday as could still not have ov'd yet.

Any thoughts?

tessiegirl · 04/03/2015 15:23

Ugh, what an idiot Juney Men like that put me right off the species. Did you reply to him? Hope you told him to jog on....

PurdeyBirdie · 04/03/2015 15:24

Knit, I reckon SMEP is right. If you look at Sparkly, for example, who only ov's three days after her initial surge, she would have to keep having sex up to four days after when you take into consideration the egg is capable of being fertilised up to twelve hours after its release Hmm

PurdeyBirdie · 04/03/2015 15:25

Aurora, what's 'employment'? Sad

KnitFastDieWarm · 04/03/2015 15:37

Thanks purdey Smile better get poor DH back in the game tonight (I think he was rather hoping for a break...)

Childless, lovely friend who I've confided in IRL said to me 'I bet you're having fun trying' the other day. Erm, not so much. If I had to sum up our sex life right now, 'fun' is not the word I'd go for. 'Military precision' would be the term I'd use. Possibly 'shock and awe' Grin

KnitFastDieWarm · 04/03/2015 15:40

As an aside. I am losing patience with Ovia and its jolly, sorority house, 'hey girlfriend!' tone Hmm

Also, it calls sex 'intercourse' which always makes me think of intercourse in the archaic sense of genteel 1800s drawing room conversation. Which is a passion killer Wink

Hairstylisttoboris · 04/03/2015 15:43

knit I use ovia, and have the same issue. I might now follow smep but without the final shag 2 days later.... Did you know you have different rights of undergoing Ivf and tell your employer? You are classified as pregnant even before the embryo implants. Pain in the ass as an employer....

spinningirl10 · 04/03/2015 15:44

Thanks ladiesGrin

Mum, yes I remember Mama31, she set up a new thread called 'trying for over 10months' or similar but she hasn't been around for quite sometime now. I last 'saw' her before Xmas and I think they were undergoing tests as she still doesn't have her bfpHmm

spinningirl10 · 04/03/2015 15:46

Ooh that peanut butter cup flavour is amazing!!!!!! I once ate a whole tub in one sitting Blush I don't buy it now as it's not safe for it to be in my vicinity Grin

wotsits1 · 04/03/2015 15:48

Temping and ff and ovia all confuse me. Haven't attempted any of them! Agree with the use of the word 'intercourse' though. Very archaic.

Hairstylisttoboris · 04/03/2015 15:59

I went out for lunch today with a colleague. She told me how she was going to time pregnancy around some stuff going on and how she would take her mat leave at a really specific point in her career.

If only.

In May last year I thought that too. I wanted my baby to be born in March this year. And now it's March, no hint of even a bfp. Gah.

wotsits1 · 04/03/2015 16:02

Bugger. Just had a thought... If I ovulated on Sunday the 22nd of Feb (got my clear blue static smiley that day)... How many dpo am I now?? HELP!

Mumof1sofar · 04/03/2015 16:06

Thanks spinning. I'm sad to hear that - I hope the tests go well for her & she gets her bfp v soon.

Haha spinning a whole tub of peanut butter cup!! We have 2 tubs in our freezer atm... V dangerous!

Boris hope this is a lucky month for you x

Hairstylisttoboris · 04/03/2015 16:06

watsit 8 dpo perhaps? On the grounds that you'd ovulate the day after your last peak day? Others may have a better calculation tool....

wotsits1 · 04/03/2015 16:08

I think I've been counting the day of ovulation and thought I was 10 dpo and now I think I might only be 9dpo!!!

PurdeyBirdie · 04/03/2015 16:11

I don't know if it's arrogance or naiveté that allows some women to believe they can organise conception, pregnancy and birth like some kind of project management Hmm I guess that's how they are used to organising their lives

I adore Ben & Jerry's caramel chew chew.

Just been to feed the ducks with t'tot and th'usband. Being unemployable has its upsides Smile

PurdeyBirdie · 04/03/2015 16:13

10dpo, Wotsits.

What're y'all having for tea? I've made a chicken, bacon and leek pie.

BabyBumpHopeful · 04/03/2015 16:15

It was this one. I try and pace myself with it and I set it down to soften a bit more and then suddenly it was bedtime and it was forgotten. I admit I put it in the freezer this morning... I couldn't look at it all sad and melty :(

The March Bus is rolling through Spunkland stopping for BFPs only!
wotsits1 · 04/03/2015 16:19

So do I count the day of ov as 1dpo?

mummyofonesofar · 04/03/2015 16:23

Boris in our org internal policies state that for IVF and other fertility treatments it is expected that the employee use a reasonable number of days leave using annual leave or unpaid leave during the course of the treatment or where possible to work flexibly in line with the service needs until the point of pregnancy when this will then be managed in accordance with the organisation’s Maternity Policy where you get paid time off for appointments. But I don't know about any official guidance.

I thought I could organise my conception/pregnancy etc and was planning on missing a month to avoid a December baby (because I am a self-confessed control freak) - that quickly went out the window, we are so desperate already that I couldn't care less when we give birth - but was very aware career wise that as I changed employer I needed to wait fo financial reasons.

Purds Please share your pie, I didn't get anything out the freezer this morning and think DP will kill me if I suggest beans on toast....

wotsits1 · 04/03/2015 16:23

Babybump I adore Ben and Jerry's. You have suffered a travesty!!!

GirlSailor · 04/03/2015 16:23

Whoa, I look away for a minute and miss everything!

Juney Does he not know how to use the internet?! What a douche!

I will have to try to catch up properly with what's going on...

HeirToTheIronThrone · 04/03/2015 16:28

Hello all, I have been attempting to catch up but as you guys managed to clock up over 40 pages of thread whilst I was on holiday I have given up and come straight here.

So we had a wonderful lazy time, dtd every day of holiday bar one and have continued to do so... Temps and opk agree I ov'd on CD19 (today is CD22) and for once I think we have done lots of shagging at totally the right time. So, everything crossed I suppose! Two babies were born to friends whilst I was away, Facebook is awash with photos and I am Envy and Sad

I'm with you on Ovia being annoying! It's all 'you had sex! Great job!' And I don't think it uses the temperatures for anything except a pretty line on the chart, they don't seem to tell you anything useful.
