Wild no blood tests for me. Literally 2 scans to check follie development/womb lining and then it's all on the OPKs. I know others who have had bloods in the run up to a FET though - think my clinic has an aversion to it as they never test for anything!
What are we doing about this thread title? Am stumped! Maybe candle smugglers (have we had that before?) I think Barry and the Charabanc needs to remain somewhere. Also what was that place someone mentioned? Something about Douglas?

Oh seen as Wild mentioned a detox I meant to ask about the sweet potato brownies. Tiger was it you that mentioned them? Would you recommend? Do you have a recipe please? Am also trying to eat more healthily. Going to try clean eating from next week. Have joined a secret FB group for it but they seem pretty hardcore so might just do my own version of it.

Love it Wild. Can we get the candle smuggling in there seen as most of us are at it or will be at it soon? What about "Candle smugglers of the world unite! The Berries have loaded up the charabanc and got Barry on repeat. Destination BFP (via the Pouch of Douglas)"
Last call for the update on the stats. Who's missing? Spare?? Pont?? Anyone else? If someone with a far better memory than me (Gill you are pretty good at this?) wants to add them? What's happened to HB and Lumen

I couldn't be bothered listing the months of my two bfps, but noticed a strong pattern there - maybe I can only get pg in summer? Perhaps the frozen cycle is the one?!

Finally had a temp rise, so back to ridiculously late ov. Once we're done with the testing I might dabble with wheat free again and this time add in some angus castus. I thought this shit was all over but not ready to give up just yet, perhaps 4 years will be my new limit.

gill don't leave us just yet, I insist! I will miss you! So exciting though, and glad your DH is now convinced and you have your scan booked in.

wild it is hard, but I figure that a little bit of what you fancy is good for you too so I'm never hardcore 100% no nice food, especially as I gave up caffeine over two years ago, wheat a year or so ago, and have all but given up drinking apart from the very occassional glass of wine here and there. I think it is more important to exercise, eat healthy balanced meals, plenty of fruit/veg etc, than it is to deny yourself the odd piece of cake that's how I justify it for myself

I would recommend the sweet potato brownies happy just look for the Deliciously Ella website/blog for the recipe. I used green and blacks cocoa powder, rather than the raw cacoa too expensive and they were great. Served to some unsuspecting people who thought they were nice. Definitely not quite the same as ones full of sugar/butter/chocolate, but certainly worth a go, and good for a few days in the fridge too.

You got me thinking actually happy I have not had a single blood test during this IVF cycle. No checks on my hormones etc. Just three scans, and then EC. I am hoping for a 5 day transfer (Monday) so we will be 2ww buddies by the sounds of it.

Am feeling ok, only small amount of soreness, and eagerly awaiting news tomorrow. Expecting the call sometime around lunchtime/early afternoon. My brother texted me his scan pic whilst I was on the way to the hospital. He really doesn't get it, but I am chuffed that all is well for them though, and fingers crossed there will be a cousin only a few weeks behind.

I had weird dreams whilst out of it for EC - specifically that they had to use a drill to get the eggs out! They had a good chuckle at me as I announced this whilst coming round.

Hope everyone else is ok. spare am thinking of you and hoping you can get on with getting your other embie on board.

lucie my FC say two weeks after transfer even if it is 5 day! I won't be able to wait that long! so certainly not time to be worried yet. Fingers crossed for you

Seriously, is it not worth mentioning something to your brother tiger? You're doing a lot better than I would be! I keep wanting to punch the new woman at work because all she talks about at break/lunch times is her kids. I keep having to walk away and sit elsewhere because I don't trust myself, she's really getting to me. So far, the only staff with kids tend to only talk about them to other staff with kids, but she has nothing else to talk about. And I'm so .

Anyway, good luck in the coming days, with 13 eggs you should be rocking it!

I have mentioned to my brother that I am in the middle of IVF. He is just a bit oblivious, he always has been and I am the only one he has told, so I guess he needs to talk about it. I am strong capable big sister who never has her own problems after all! It is hard though, I have felt so at times, they didn't even realise that she was pg ffs! What I am dreading is the rest of the family finding out, and then everyone will be talking about it.

People who only talk about their kids are infuriating! My boss at my last work was like that and me and my colleague (who also had a difficult relationship with fertility and no kids) used to have to close the door and have a rant when she left!!

Given there are a couple more posts left...

I had to update my age in the stats post. V. disappointing!! Will be 39 in May. How did this happen? I feel like going and shouting at the GP lady who thinks it's such a good idea to reassure people that they'll be fine as they're still relatively young etc etc. 3 IVFs later and no further forward. Sometimes I think it would be way more useful if people actually point out that it just might not work and help me accept that I might have missed the baby boat after all. Not trying to put a dampner on things (especially given such a fantastic result from the lovely Gill - yes please do stick around ), but seriously, sometimes all this hope that you're offered from friends/family/doctors etc doesn't help. Don't they realise we ladies are programmed to clutch at straws?! Stop throwing them at me and maybe it's time to just lie back in the sea on a blow up mattress (dirty berry minds), relax and enjoy the pina coladas.

Having said that, I'm not giving up yet . Am hoping the natural FET is the way forward, hey happy, wild and barking!

Thanks for the reassurance regarding the blood tests kuma. I hope you're right - they'll be able to check more than just the LH won't they, I imagine. And on the IVF cycles they've always done another blood test before transfer to check on prog levels so maybe they'll do the same with my FET - in which case if I'm having a second LH surge they will spot it. Much as I hate the blood tests, maybe I should put my faith in them a bit more.

happy even if you're not having blood taken, I would imagine they can spot signs of where you are in your cycle from the dildocams? lining etc? But I totally share your concerns. I think I'm eeking out towards a June transfer instead of May - probably just so I haven't used up all options so soon. Silly really, but I'm getting scared of the thought of life without a back up.

Tiger I don't think I've congratulated you on your 13 eggs! That's such a fantastic result. I might try some of those famous high kicks to encourage top notch fertilisation.

smidge I am so there with you! I've just entered my first triathlon, in July, in a massive FU to the Ivf. If I can delay it further I can live with the happy thought that it might work a bit longer before I have to face the reality of a final bfn.... It looks like July would be the earliest we could do it anyway after doing the nk test in June given it looks like I'll be away in the crucial window for May, and in a frozen cycle I wouldn't be paranoid about saving all my energy for growing eggs, so wouldn't have to suddenly stop all exercise as I have done before and during each iui/ivf. So having something else to obsess about until July, and then calming down the exercise and returning to the ivf in August seemed like the best plan for my mental health!

tiger we are ttc this cycle, but with ov on cd21 I don't hold out any hope at all!!!
