The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).

Jellie calling Jellie.....? Isn't it bloods for you today?

Beaky - poor you getting upset by the op. It's weird how things you think will be quite routine can throw you for a loop. I'm sure it's at least partly down to all the extra strain you've been under over the IVF. It all ends up getting on top of you at some point. Give your Beakypup lots of cuddles and look after yourself.

Barking - what a pain the neck about your work trip, TTC complicates everything. If your pregnant colleague knows your story then could you ask her to tell the PA she doesn't want to share with you? Get her to say it's because she's suffering from terrible wind with her pregnancy and doesn't want to inflict it on you! Grin

Hey Kuma, I can understand why a month on the pill feels depressing, you must be so frustrated and impatient to get started. Happily it should be only a few weeks now until you are underway. I've heard good things about all the consultants, and they review the cases as a team anyway, so you'll have lots of expert eyes watching over you!

Good to hear from you Smidge. Your few days away sound perfect and exactly what you both needed. I think a few tears can only be a good thing at a time like this. There's no point holding it all back when you feel sad about it all.

Interesting that AliG is unconcerned about you bleeding early. Also that she's still confident that your time can come and to keep playing the odds. Did you have one or two blasts transferred? I can't remember.

The embryologist's update today was that six of the seven embryos are progressing well; four are top quality, one very good and one average. They're going to wait and see what happens with the seventh one. I'm finally starting to believe that we will end up with frosties. Hurrah!! Thank you for all your support Berries. It means a lot. Flowers

Hi all, I'm a newbie here.
TTC #1, 36, TTC for 18 months (seriously 6). Been peeing on OV sticks for a few months and off for 1st acupuncture session tonight eek!

Pipbin · 27/02/2015 18:42

Welcome winsones. Do pull up a chair. In the nicest way I hope you don't hang about too long.

Jelliebabe2 · 27/02/2015 19:25

Hey smidge. We'll get to know the donors age... We'll need that for tests etc. Not sure exactly when we get that info! Loving the scrabble! Grin

Winsones - welcome pull up a pouffe of possibility!

Wild - whoop go embies! Are the freezing tomorrow?

And yes my 2nd beta today! Drumroll please .... Today's level was 471! That's nearly tripled in 48 hours! GrinShockGrin

Welcome wins. Sorry you find yourself here but you're in the best possible place.
Awesome news Jellie. Twins??? Was it donor eggs or donor embryo you had? My memory is shocking!
Great news for you too Wild. Is it day 3 for you today??
Smidge interesting what Ali G says. I find myself in a very similar situation to you in that I've never had a sniff of a BFP and I'm starting to suspect implantation/immune issues. I've done a bit of a Googling though and it does seem to be that a greater percentage of failed cycles are down to embryo quality rather than failed implantation. Apparently things can go wrong even if they look perfect at blast. So frustrating though. I'd rather just know why it hasn't worked! Will be interesting to hear what my consultant says next week at my follow up.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. Have a top weekend all!

Jelliebabe2 · 27/02/2015 20:37

Hey Minx no symptoms yet! Don't worry your perfect house will come along and it will all fall into place!

Jelliebabe2 · 27/02/2015 20:53

Happy - yes it was donor egg!

beakybeak · 27/02/2015 21:46

Smidge love your scrabble! Sounds like a positive follow up (as much as it can be) and great that AliG things you're still in with a good chance. How do you feel about another round? Did you get any frosties or will you go fresh? Hugs for you Flowers

Wild over the moon for you, lady! Keep us updated Grin do you have next month off then stim again, the month after off then FET?

Jellie over the moon for you too! Twinstwinstwins! Have the berries had any twins so far?

Happy definitely interested to hear what your consultant says given that you had great quality embies. Will you get a date for your FET then too?

Wins hello and welcome Smile this is the best place to be while ttc and these ladies are amazing. Have you booked into your GP for tests?

Minx yep, we've sold ours now
So looking for somewhere to go and can't find anywhere! Are you looking to move then? When's your consultant follow up?

I'm waiting to hear back from FC about amh testing, it's ages til my follow up (well 4 weeks!) so I was hoping to get it done before that. AF has arrived and is the most painful and full on it's ever been! Blergh. Sad

Pipbin · 27/02/2015 22:09

Jellie so excited for you.

WildflowerMarmalade · 27/02/2015 22:39

Welcome Winsone I hope you have a fabulous, fruitful and short stay.

Berry twins!!! Jellie you once mentioned plans to dress up the twins you would have as pumpkins for Halloween. Looking forward to that photo. That's all I'm saying, for now. Is it weird that I am agog to know the age of your donor? She's done you proud.

Happy I hope you get something useful out of your follow up. It's good to start looking at other possible protocols and see what feels right. Anything that helps the odds has got to be worth considering. So much of making a baby is still a mystery.

Beaky yes, month to rest, another stim cycle, month's rest and then FET is usually how it works. The FC did offer me the option of starting norethisterone again on the day of EC to prepare to stim again from next AF in two weeks time. They said it almost as soon as I came round from sedation, and I just said no because my mind was too drug addled to adapt the plan. I'm glad to be sticking to plan A though because I think my body deserves a month off.

Where will you be living Beaky if your house is already sold? Is there a deadline for you to leave? Scary.

barkingtreefrog · 27/02/2015 23:25

I'm sticking my head in the sand about pg colleague. If I draw the short straw I'll ask my colleagues to swap on the day (of the three I get on really well with two of them, and of them the pg one knows all anyway).

Jellie Wow! that's amazing!

beaky back in the first clusterdiff when I had my first bfp, August 2013, boom had clomid twins, so we've had berry twins before, Jellie could be carrying the next set! Grin

Maranello4 · 28/02/2015 15:48

Hello! I saw this group on another thread and would like to join if that's okay? Thank you

WildflowerMarmalade · 28/02/2015 17:46

Hello Maranello. Welcome to you. If you meet the exacting criteria at the top of the thread then you can most certainly join. Check out the ' small-print' in the first post on here and then why don't you post your own trying- to-conceive details so that we can get to know your story.

The FC have frozen six day three embies for us. Yay!

Pipbin · 28/02/2015 17:48

Welcome Maranello, tell me your story as I warm my old bones by the fire.

Pipbin · 28/02/2015 17:50

Missed your news there Wild Six frozen embies is wonderful. I never had any that made it to being frozen.

tigerdog · 28/02/2015 18:05

Great news Wild, with 6 frosties will you definitely go for a second batch?

jellie Grin Grin all sounds very promising indeed! So pleased for you.

beaky how are you recovering from your op?

Fantastic fertility references in the scrabble smidge, glad you managed to have some time away and that a break gets you and your body ready to try again. AliG sounds positive, which is great.

Welcome winsones come and make yourself at home. Hope the acu went well.

maranello welcome. What's your story?

Hope everyone else is well.
Off for a bite to eat and to meet some friends for drinks, only we're both not drinking! Wine

Maranello4 · 28/02/2015 18:41

Hello again. I just re-read your criteria and I may not fit, oh dear! Let's see in any case - I'm an older Mum at 37 (with Clomid after ttc for 4 years) and trying to conceive for the second time for over a year. Where I live, I'm classed as a younger Mum by other Mums because I'm under 40! No idea what a special pot or an instadiffer are I'm afraid. I think this group is just first time? No offence taken if it is, completely understand, and will look for other older mum ttc groups if that's the case.

Pipbin · 28/02/2015 18:51

Maranello - the reason the Berries were founded was because so many of us got fed up with joining threads where people were trying for baby number 5 and getting upset. As someone with no children it is very hard to understand how someone with any children has anything to complain about. It's not that you aren't welcome - I feel though that trying for your first one and finding that you are old and stuff doesn't work as it should is a very lonely place.

Insterdiffers are people who get pg just by looking at their DH's pants.
Special pots are because so many Berries use cheap internet pg and ov sticks and you have to wee in a pot and dip them.

I'm not saying you can't join, and we are honestly a friendly bunch, but I think facing a possibly childless childfree future is what holds us together.

I hope that sounds fair.

Maranello4 · 28/02/2015 19:15

Hi there Yes of course, completely understand - I think it was more that I saw the link on a thread aimed at older mums. Thanks also for the explanation too, lots of jargon on these forums! Will duck out x

happylass · 01/03/2015 08:07

Thanks for being so understanding Maranelle. Please don't feel you have to go but just be aware there won't be anyone in the same situation as you here. There is a thread for those struggling to conceive second time around that may interest you?

Can I join? Been ttc number 1 for nearly 3 years. I'm nearly at my next birthday which puts me in the late 30's. All tests have been clear for both of us. About to start third round of chlomid part of a 4 cycle protocol. Feeling very depressed and am about to tell parents as the questions are getting unbearable.

tigerdog · 01/03/2015 09:23

Welcome patch and make yourself at home. How come clomid if none of your tests have shown an issue? So many different treatment protocols around the country! Are you considering ivf? I've ended up telling a few people about ttc difficulties over time, usually in response to the usual questioning about plans to start a family, you might find it eases the pressure.

maranello hope you find the right forum for you.

Hope everyone else is having a lovely weekend.

happylass · 01/03/2015 10:54

Nice one Mumsnet DaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodil

Patch welcome and make yourself at home. Good luck telling your folks. I didn't tell mine until about 18 months in, but there comes a point where it's almost impossible to keep it quiet. I'm sure they'll be fine and sharing it may help ease the burden.

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 01/03/2015 11:36

Welcome winsome and patch. I'm very open about ttc now, stops the awkward questions and also makes the more sympathetic people cull all the baby talk around me, which I otherwise struggle with.
Fingers crossed for the clomid patch it worked once for me (sadly I then mc but that was not the fault of the clomid!)

tiger I had to do 6 rounds on clomid before we could be referred for iui/ivf despite my tests showing I ovulated. I believe boodle was given the same line. It's the cheapest option so they throw it at you hoping it will work....
