Hi tiger

Not sure the consultant wanted us to try chlomid first. First cycle was horrible and felt awful, 2nd not too bad. Start third tonight.

tigerdog · 01/03/2015 20:42

Fingers crossed it works for you patch and the third cycle isn't too bad. Ah yes barking, I remember now, I think nolly did a few months of clomid too.

Smidge001 · 02/03/2015 12:02

I did 3 months of clomid before IVF too, despite no issues with ovulating naturally. Agree it seems to be first port of call as it's cheap and least invasive. To be fair AliG wasn't particularly bothered about trying more than twice (but timings for our first round of IVF just meant we might as well try a third).

Pipbin · 02/03/2015 20:41

Just had a text from my manager to say that she is pregnant and wanted me to know before she announced.
That makes 4 pregnant women and one pregnant father!

WildflowerMarmalade · 02/03/2015 22:10

Oh no Pip that's a ridiculous number of bumps. Poor you. These people really do have horrible timing, don't they? At least she let you know privately, that was considerate. It would have been tough to get that news in front of everyone.

Jellie - how are you feeling?

Welcome Patch, you've found a good home here in rubbish circumstances. Telling some family members is a good idea, as others have said it should take some of the pressure off. I hope you get a good reaction.

Tiger - yes we will still do another collection round to get some more embies. Seeing as my AMH was so low I think it's good to gather what we can now rather than put it off, realistically things will only get gradually worse. The more we have in the freezer the better the chance that at leadt one will survive the thaw and be healthy. Also, we've already paid for the two stimming cycles, although I'm sure that could be sorted out if we did want to switch.

Hope everyone else is ok. It's quiet in here but I know it's the lull before we march forward demanding our BFPs.

Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil Daffodil

happylass · 02/03/2015 22:50

Sorry about the bump fest Pip it's totally rubbish. I had 5 bumps in work a few months back. Fortunately they've all gone I ff on maternity leave now. So I only have to put up with the constant photos/baby talk on FB

OP posts:
Jelliebabe2 · 03/03/2015 05:13

Wild - I'm still feeling fine a bit tired but that could be because I'm awake at 5 am! When do you start your next stimms?

Pip - boo to the bumps. I look after h&s at work (yes all the preggo women). I've had eight on my list at once before.... Torture! Its like they're stalking you

Bedhead2 · 03/03/2015 10:42

Hello! Can I join plz? In need of a bit of hand holding...

Me? 33 (and 11/12), ttc 3+ years, 1st ivf (ICSI) in Oct 14 resulted in 6 embies for freezer... They wouldn't do fresh replacement (long story, they wanted to investigate something which turned out to be now't) so 2 weeks ago we had fet, 2 embies replaced and yesterday had a bfn. So, 4 frosties left to try this round. I realise things could be a lot worse, still feeling pants.

Have also just sacked off FB or a while, need a break from baby pics and baby-stuff ads. Pathetic?!

Smidge001 · 03/03/2015 12:13

Hi Bedhead and welcome. 6 frozen embies sounds great - were they day 3 or day 5s? Sorry your first FET didn't work out, but 4 more sounds promising.

I've had 3 fresh IVFs (all with BFNs) but we've only had a total of 2 blastos make it through to freezing (and neither very good quality). My clinic only likes to do one blast at a time but after 3 BFNs we plan to have the two frosties transfered together in a natural FET cycle in a couple of months time.

Pipbin · 03/03/2015 12:56

Welcome Bedhead.
Sounds like you have been through the wars like the rest of us. I think you have found your home here.

hallo new people. Welcome to the Berries, a very supportive place.

on my phone so can't scroll back to see who it was but yes, I did 6 months of clomid. Pretty sure it's first line treatment for unexplained, also poss for those with PCO (if not PCOS). However, all it did was shortern my cycle by 4 days and induce constipation. Also my consultant said that clomid actually may reduce chance of conception in those wiht unexplained. having said that it def does promote ovulation so if that's your issue...

excellent news wild on your embies. hurdle 1 (well hurdle 5999999) successfully hurdled. Nice hurdling.

bedhead hit the Wine :)

patch we told people and some people got better, some people worse. e.g. how ARE you concerned face from the MiL, but lots of other people said, OMG you too. etc.

Pip everyone I know is pregnant. even colleague whose husband lives in east ASIA for gods sake. two people at work had babies recently. One was extremely ugly, and the other was given a game of thrones derived name, poor chicken. Reduces the envy i find.

minx sounds like progress. GOod news. I find it takes me a couple of days after each appointment to process the new info.

happy, smidge, beaky how are you doing? Daffodil

barkingtreefrog · 03/03/2015 17:57

To all being bump/baby bombed on fb, I highly recommend unfollowing everyone. That's what I did. I didn't want to leave completely and miss out on all the groups I'm in, or not be on fb messenger, so I just hid everyone instead - they don't know they've been 'unfollowed', it just means their posts don't come up in your newsfeed. On my newsfeed now are status updates from my husband, my brother and my sister in law. That's it!! Grin Grin It's a far less stressful experience Grin.

Sorry I haven't got time to catch up properly, just off to see the hypnotherapist to see what she can do about my mind body fertility connection Hmm

nolly3 · 03/03/2015 18:18

happy mind bldy melding barking. hope it's relaxing and not too wooo

nolly3 · 03/03/2015 18:18

bldy? body.

happylass · 03/03/2015 20:01

Bedhead sorry you find yourself in this awful position but you are definitely in the right place so make yourself at home. I have just one frostie from 2 failed ICSIs so I will be having a FET in the next couple of months too. With regards to FB it's not pathetic at all - you do what you have to do to survive this horrendous nightmare. Barking's suggestion is a very good one though as it means you don't miss out completely.
Minx glad things are moving for you, both on the TTC and residential fronts!
Barking hope your mind and body are well connected by now! Not long to wait until you start stabbing. I'm off to see the Baby Farm woman tomorrow in the vain hope that having our feet rubbed will get us diffed Hmm

Good news about the IVF Minx

So one friend at work had her scan today for another to come and say that she is going for hers tomorrow. Very happy for both of them. That makes six pregnant people at work now!

barkingtreefrog · 03/03/2015 21:29

pip how big is your school? Your head must be secretly not very happy! Sorry you're surrounded.

wild it does make sense to fill the freezer!

happy Ooo, do feed back after the baby farm!!!

jellie are you managing to stay sane?

bedhead welcome - are you going straight into the next round?

minx at least the IVF will give you more info - and a good chance of that priority baby Grin

nolly it wasn't too woo at all - a really nice experience actually, and I genuinely think it will help. Put me in a really positive frame of mind, and she'll send me the file tomorrow so I can listen to it again as much as I want before I see her again next week. Feeling far calmer about everything but still really impatient to just get going, AF could start any day, or could be another week and I want to start NOW!

Gillster · 03/03/2015 21:40

Evening all!

Welcome to the newbies and sorry that you've found yourselves here. I also have 6 embies in freezer bedhead and spent most of 2014 cycling between IVF/FET and hysteroscopies but never quite getting to the point of having any of the embies put back Sad. Hoping for this to change in about a month as have a hysteroscopy booked on 23rd and hoping to start 4th FET soon after.

I second Barking's suggestion about blocking FB news feeds from selected people. I still have access to my FB groups and selected people who don't post about their kids all the time!

Pip - nightmare about the preggos! It's do tough when you can't abound them. Work is a bump free zone for me at the moment - woo hoo, although that's bound to be short lived now I've said that.

I found out last week that my boss asks one if my work colleagues every now and again if I'm OK. He knows I've had IVF although haven't kept him fully appraised of all my cancelled FETs. Just nice that he's concerned.

beakybeak · 03/03/2015 21:52

Welcome Patch and Bedhead, so sorry you didn't get a bfp Bed, fx for your FET's.

minx hooray to getting your referral! Good luck picking your FC! If you have any q's about mine feel free to message. One thing I would say about mine is that they don't yet have things like embryoscope etc, and don't open weekends although they say they are changing that soon (who knows when soon is) but on the other hand, they have an excellent success rate for the area and they really do what they can to get you diffed and they are quite flexible with regard to rules - like my IVF being downgraded to iui so I didn't loose a round when I didn't have a good response. Also they do as many FET's as you have frosties, all within your entitlement. But like I said, they might not be as advanced as the other biggy in our area Grin hooray for having your offer accepted too! I've not found anything to buy yet Sad

Pip you are coping amazingly after what you have been through, and wow that is a lot of differs. It must be hard for you Flowers

Happy good luck with the baby farm people!

Barking glad your hypno went well, I've been doing relaxation hypno for years now and love it. Fx AF arrives ASAP so you can get going! Excited for you Smile

Wild so pleased you got so many frosties and hopefully I may be able to catch up with you for my next IVF round!

Tiger how are you doing? Are you all prepared for IVF? How's commuting going?

Nolly how are you? Is work ok?

Jellie how are you doing?

I'm much better thanks berries, just recovering and trying to take it easy but have an assignment to get in and tons of work to do since I had a couple of days off! So instead I'm drinking wine and having chocolate tonight Wink

tigerdog · 04/03/2015 07:43

I'm amazed at how many people were prescribed clomid for unexplained infertility, against NICE guidance! It wasn't offered at my FC.

Grr to all the bumps pip hope you're ok.

Wild I have an image of a mother hen presiding over a clutch of eggs! Seems very sensible to lay as many as you can now Smile.

Welcome bedhead, you're in the right place. Sounds as though you've done your time and been through some tough stuff - I hope your little frosties will bring you to the end of your journey and result in baby bedhead!

nolly it too feels like everyone I know is pregnant. Even MrT is feeling it - 2 pg ladies in his team - one honeymoon conception and one who's partner lives in Dubai! Not fair

Glad the therapy helped barking as you know I'm a big believer in the mind-body connection but there's no harm in working towards getting yourself in a more positive and happy place whatever the outcome.

Excellent news on the referral minx good luck with choosing. Sounds like a few things are moving forward for you, exciting times ahead!

Glad to hear you are recovering beaky Envy of the wine and chocolate - have given up booze for the time being and also quit my daily chocolate bar habit my last remaining vice I'm fine though, thanks for asking. Af expected this weekend, then I'll be calling the fc and collecting my drugs to start stabbing 21 days after that. Job is fine, Mr T is busy interviewing so should get something down here soon.

Daffodil Flowers Daffodil to everyone - happy wednesday!

Smidge001 · 04/03/2015 11:32

Hi everyone. Nothing much to report here, just plodding on (as my mother would say). I'm back on the booze now, making up for lost time I think. Port has been my tipple of choice, but we polished that off a bit quickly so tonight we actually ventured out to a wine bar up the road. After 3 drinks (2 beers and 1 glass of wine) came to $35 Shock we decided to come home and open a bottle instead. Boring old couple that we are Grin.

beakybeak · 04/03/2015 22:41

Tiger my FC don't do clomid either. How exciting that you will be starting IVF soon! Fx for you, lovely. I can't believe you have even given up your one chocolate bad! Well done Smile

Smidge wow that's expensive! I would have just gone home and opened a bottle there too! Hope you're ok otherwise.

Bedhead2 · 04/03/2015 23:31

So lovely to read your responses! I feel very welcome indeed.

Just back from a couple of days in the Lakes dusting ourselves down before getting on with life. Small glass of red last night nolly! Tasted good.

My clinic have said we can request treatment again after next proper period, so by my calcs, looking at early June for next fet.

I've both loved and hated going through this thread and reading your stories. Obviously I wouldn't wish this palaver on anyone but I do feel the right place for some support and hopefully can help some of you as well.

NB I'm totally new to this game so apologies if it takes me a while to get up to speed with the lingo and whatnot. It's like when your granny started texting!!!

Bedhead2 · 04/03/2015 23:41

Smudge, my frosties are day 3-ers.

Not long til your 2 blastos go back then. Exciting! (and nerve wracking I'm sure)
