Beaky we are going for a natural FET next cycle. Only on cd7 of this cycle though (off to Spain next week so can't do it this month) so will prob happen in about 5 weeks depending on my cycles.
What's happening with you Beaky?
Tiger well done on getting your first jab done. The Buserelin really is a breeze - nice small needles Smile

Is it too early to be having side effects? I was in a meeting this afternoon and then suddenly my face and ears started burning. My ears were luminous red. I was presenting to an audience but felt very calm although very aware of burning up! My head is still on fire now after a couple of hours!

Wondering if hot yoga first thing tomorrow is a bad idea...thoughts?

Yes happy it really was a breeze! I had built it up in my head so much. I used to faint at the sight of needles in my teens and 20's and look at me now!

Great news on the bat babies barking am sending nurturing thoughts their way.

Off for dinner with my best mate of old. Looking forward to it! Smile

WildflowerMarmalade · 27/03/2015 07:57

Did you go to hot yoga Tiger? Your symptoms sounds weird. Actually they sound exactly like the symptoms I get from drinking cheap Prosecco, which is awkward because when someone hands you a glass of bubbly you can't very well say, 'Is this proper Champagne from the Champagne region or is it Cava or cheap Prosecco? Because I think I'm allergic to those'. You'd sound like a total k-n*br.

Anyway, I have nothing genuinely helpful to add but I hope you are feeling ok now.

beakybeak · 27/03/2015 08:43

Hahaha LadyWild only drinks genuine champagne Grin yeah that would not look good, especially if you were trying to make a good impression!

Tiger that does sound a bit odd, maybe ring dr google the clinic? How was injecting this morning?

happy I may be around the same time as you or just behind, I'm doing short/antagonistic protocol next, mid April to start the pill with stims mid may, ec/et end of May if there are some follies this time!

Happy Friday everyone!

tigerdog · 27/03/2015 18:36

Only the finest champagne for the good lady wild! Love it! Nah I didn't go to hot yoga and thankfully no more hot flushes. I also felt quite nauseous by the end of the day, but have been fine today. Managed to jab myself in the hand with the drawing up needle this morning as I tried to put the plastic lead back on it for some dumbass reason! Otherwise all fine.

Any news barking? Hope those bat babies are getting ready for transfer!

Ah so you'll only be a few weeks behind me beaky and happy as I should have EC and ET at the end of April/first week in may.

On the train back to Mr T and the hound. Can't wait to see them. Everyone around me is drinking wine Envy.

HampshireBlues · 27/03/2015 19:30

You shouldn't be having too many symptoms Tiger and certainly not this quickly. I'd keep an eye on it and see how you go. If it happens again or is worse or you are getting a local reaction at your injection site then I'd suggest calling the FC.

Go bat babies!

Called the clinic and provisionally booked in for my scratch on 13th. Currently trying to get hold of my GP to sort out a blood test to check my homocysteine level; my understanding is that if this is elevated then I will need to take high dose folic acid longer term but other than that I can carry on with the next IVF cycle.

I love the idea of you asking about champagne type Wild

barkingtreefrog · 27/03/2015 21:21

Love it LadyWild.
^"Bubbles?"
"Which region does the grape come from? Oh, no, I couldn't possibly."^
Sorry, you're not living that one down Grin .

Not much happening here. I'd like to think that if all the bat babies had left the cave someone would have called to tell me, so I can only assume there will be at least one bat baby left to put in my womb cave tomorrow morning....

happylass · 27/03/2015 22:41

Tiger looking at my dates I should be right with you. Assuming my cycle doesn't go awry the FET should be around May 1st.
Barking I didn't hear anything from the FC between day 3 and the time I turned up for ET. No news is good news as they say! Hope all goes well tomorrow. ET is a breeze and will leave you thinking was that it?!
Happy weekend Berries and happy school hols teachers (is it just me left now?!)

WildflowerMarmalade · 27/03/2015 22:50

Glad you are feeling better Tiger. You were probably wise to give hot yoga a miss!

Every bit of good luck for the morning Barking. Hope all goes well.

barkingtreefrog · 27/03/2015 23:20

Thanks LadyWild & Happy
Happy the nurse told me the transfer is exactly the same as for IUI, only with an embryo rather than sperm, so I've done this bit twice before! The speculum always really hurts though, always has done for smear tests as well, so not looking forward to it anyway!

IamKuma · 28/03/2015 07:18

Hope all goes well today Barking!

tigerdog · 28/03/2015 07:18

Good luck today barking! Get that bat baby in the bat cave!

Ah yes you will be happy as ET for me could be any time from 27 April to around 6 May depending on what happens during stimming.

Awake since a ridiculously early time, glad the clocks are going forward so that my wake up time will be more normal!

Seem to be ok now hb, thanks for the advice. 3 injections down and 18 more to go until my first scan.

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2015 07:49

tiger that's a very good point! I've been waking up before 6 all week. From tomorrow it will be great if that carries on! Grin

Good to see the next rounds coming up for lots more berries, the stroll down the yellow brick road is turning into an Olympic sprint! Smile

Thanks kuma How are you doing? Have you got a plan or are you giving it some time first?

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2015 08:52

So, news just in from the bat cave. We have one good quality blastocyst that will be going back in at 11am Grin Grin Grin .

We also have one that is ok to freeze, and she said an 80% chance it would survive the freeze. There are two stragglers at the back that still have potential to be freezable, but they're slow developers and not ready just yet. I'm not sure how much time they will give them in the race before removing the finishing line!

HampshireBlues · 28/03/2015 09:04

That is great news Barking! Will be thinking of you this morning and thinking sticky thoughts (that sounds soooo wrong!) and good news on having at least one frosty.

happylass · 28/03/2015 09:17

Great news Barking. We had slow developers on both cycles and they called on day 6 with an update. Unfortunately none of those were then suitable for freezing but you never know! Let us know how you get on.

WildflowerMarmalade · 28/03/2015 09:24

That's great news Barkng. I'm thrilled for you.

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2015 09:57

Argh!!! My mother has been either conspicuously absent or a dead cert to send an unhelpful text all the way through this process. Her response to my text update this morning to say we had one to freeze? [her friend] said [friend's daughter]'s frozen ones were the ones that worked!
Think about this mum, what you're essentially relying to me when I've just told you we have one for the freezer but it might not necessarily survive, is that X's fresh cycle of ivf failed. How the hell does that help me right now?! Can we not please be hopeful about this working rather than bigging up the potential reserve option that might not make it anyway?!

Jelliebabe2 · 28/03/2015 10:47

Good luck for today barking! Brill news on your embie and one definite for the freezer! Wooohoooo! May you 2ww not drive you nuts (or your mother)

Lol @ ladyWild!

Hi berries! Miss you ladies. Hope you're all doing great!

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2015 11:38

I'm PUPO!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin

We even got a photo of the batbaby blastocyst Grin Grin

Gillster · 28/03/2015 11:57

All hail the PUPO Batking! Fab news Grin. Do you think you'll crumble and test early or are you going to be good this time?

Take it easy but get plenty of gentle walks in. Are you just on the progesterone pessaries or are you taking other stuff too? Hope the 2WW is not too long. At least we have 2 x4 day weeks now (apart from those teacher berries). Come to think of it, is Happy the only teacher berry now?

barkingtreefrog · 28/03/2015 12:30

gillster, test early? Moi? Wink Blush OTD is bank holiday Monday. Just progesterone and aspirin until then, dalteparin if bfp. I might test on the Sunday, but I'm thinking of persuading DH to go away in the camper over Easter weekend and deliberately leaving any testing paraphernalia at home so I won't be able to do anything until Monday morning....

tigerdog · 28/03/2015 12:44

Great news barking and congrats on your PUPO status. Sending you strength and calm for the 2ww.

Sorry your mum is being unhelpful. Mine is similar, knows about our problems and yet insists on banging on and on about my cousins babies even after I've hinted it is a bit raw. The other day when I tried to tell her about our ivf plans she terminated the conversation with 'good luck with that' then talking about something trivial. Hmm.

Still, we have the berry support group which is just amazing! Flowers

Smidge001 · 28/03/2015 22:23

Congrats on being PUPO Barking that is brilliant news. Top quality too and another in the freezer! I would imagine your mum is just trying to give you a boost by saying the backup is a genuine possibility, and trying to help ease the pressure you might be putting on yourself for this fresh cycle to work - even though it came out a bit wrong/negative.

But all this talk of frozen ones not surviving the freeze/thaw process is sounding a bit scary to me. I don't remember AliG ever suggesting there might be an issue with that to us... But maybe at the time I wasn't thinking that far ahead and my brain converted any 'irrelevant future' chat into 'blah blah blah'.

Also have been thinking about the article someone (sorry can't remember who) posted on FETs being better for some people because of being able to match the receptive time in their cycle... And hoping that might be the case for me. In fact I'm beginning to convince myself this could be the case given my cycle is normally 33 days suggesting a much later ovulation time than when they do the stimms/trigger with fresh.

Just finished AF so one (or two) more cycle(s) to go I think before we try frozen.

Have been doing a little bit of contracting work recently which is helping pass the time (and fund the bank). Other than that nothing to report from down under.

barkingtreefrog · 29/03/2015 07:13

smidge don't let me worry you, it depends on the quality of what they freeze - as happy said they have very strict, high standards on what they will freeze and in my case I had one blastocyst that was the definite winner. That means the second place candidate was not as strong, therefore hasn't got the same chances of surviving the freeze/thaw. It doesn't mean yours aren't top quality! I think it was lumen that pointed out only 20% of cycles end up with frosties, so they obviously don't freeze anything that isn't up to standard.

I always used to ov around cd19/22 (probably still do, just haven't tracked for months as I didn't see the point) so after reading that article I was glad I had a 5dt as that will have been closer to the right time for me, although the progesterone should then prevent AF shedding that lovely lining 7 days later as would usually happen.

Woke up way before 6 again, but obviously just after 6 once I'd moved my watch on an hour. I hope my body clock sorts itself out soon!!
