Im starting to dislike ttc! So damn confusing!

ozmund · 28/02/2015 09:31

ha ha juney and scrunchie, loving the cat sabotage theory! Mine was a little minx taking a flying leap at my head at 4.30am Confused

Boris sorry you are also in the 10/11dpo exasperation club. I was also a bit concerned at my opk going straight from low to peak overnight

auroraboringalis · 28/02/2015 09:40

Howdy ladies. Just wanted to give you all a wave! Grin

dojo123 · 28/02/2015 09:56

Thanks purdey. So the only reason FF has highlighted 11th is because it's my birthday.
I think I will still wait until the Friday before I POAS as I think the dpo is more crucial than my missed AF that's if the witch hasn't arrived before then.

CoffeeTwo · 28/02/2015 10:01

Hello all.

Been absent for a few days, DH is ill, I'm ill, DS is being a diva. Ughhh. Definitely no dtd going on in this house. Fingers crossed we'll catch up in time for ovulation in a few days. I completely missed taking my temp yesterday as I was up every hour in the night.

purdey sorry AF has arrived but glad to have you on here :)

mummyofonesofar · 28/02/2015 10:17

purdey started in jan as was meant to be trting but stopped befire ov as due date would clash with a trip to the World Cup rugby. Tickets of which I got DP for Christmas. So really feb is cycle 1. Not so frustrated that it may take a while, just that this cycle is dragging me along with no hint of AF.

Felt nauseous this morning driving home from the vets. Symptom or reaction to receiving the bill....

DizzyNorthernBird · 28/02/2015 10:19

purdey seeing as this morning seems to be 'purdeys charting surgery' would you mind taking a look at mine?

I'm concerned about my pre ov temps which seem too high to me? I've read this can be an indication of thyroid issues which in turn can affect progesterone levels....
Also what do you reckon about my ov date? Reliable?

scrunchiemount · 28/02/2015 10:30

Well girls the witch got me! Let's hope I can get a bfp this time next month...

Though I have to say December has never struck me as the best month to have a birthday in.

loopylou1984 · 28/02/2015 10:41

Scrunchie - sorry for af Hmm
Hope you're okay?

Last year I thought that about December... Now I really don't care, I'd happily give birth on Christmas Day if it so happened!
You can always have parties at half birthdays instead Smile X

Oysterbabe · 28/02/2015 10:54

In view of the arrival of AF, I'm in! Bfp due 28th March. Just ordered a thermometer and opk on Amazon as really have no idea when I'm ovulating and I want to start taking this TTC business seriously!

spinningirl10 · 28/02/2015 11:46

Morning all Grin

Lazy day today, too much white wine last night but lots of funSmile
Student gone, yay!
Took temp this morning but it was quite high so I haven't entered it as I'm guessing the wine consumption effects it?
Cd10 so I'm hoping for a positive opk later today or tomorrow and plenty of shagging till thenWink

Off to read back now.

MrsGingerbread · 28/02/2015 11:54

Sorry to the new arrivals who have been caught by the witch. You are very welcome here.

We have a gin terrace here. I'm not a gin fan but Im setting up a chocolate fountain if you'd rather join me.

Fingers crossed that those getting close to testing turn in some lovely bfps soon. Bus sets off tomorrow! :)

My healthy eating kick must be doing something. I've lost a stone. Woo! More to go but happy with that. I am deliberately losing it slowly so that it stays off and also so I don't panic my ovaries. :)

While we are sharing charts - I have a second rise today. I hope ff is right in predicting the timing of ov. Any thoughts?

juneybean · 28/02/2015 11:56

What a great loss mrsg!!

I'm feeling sick today but can't decide if that's just worrying I'm about to get a bloody visitor!

PurdeyBirdie · 28/02/2015 12:43

Boris, pain is a subjective issue anyway. What one person finds painful another one would not mark it as so. There is no conclusive evidence anywhere that suggests acupuncture/reflexology leads to conception. The Lister Clinic in the UK suggests the best one can hope for with acupuncture is an hour of relaxation. I can do that on the sofa with Corrie. For free.

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Homeopathy ^have been suggested, however, there is no evidence to support their use and the exact
ingredients (whether beneficial or possibly harmful) are often difficult to accurately identify.
Acupuncture and Yoga have also been suggested to positively affect blood flow to the uterus and potentially improve outcome. Again, there is no evidence of benefit in any group of patients. However, we would recommend them as relaxation techniques and to improve quality of life if they are something you feel you would benefit from. - The Lister Clinic.

It dismays me how much money women are willing to pay to supposedly improve their chances of conception. I think it's tantamount to criminal to market oneself as a 'fertility acupuncturist' when there is no evidence whatsoever that such therapy can make a scintilla of difference to conception chances. I actually despise this industry.

spinningirl10 · 28/02/2015 12:47

MrsG, well done on the weight lossGrin

Sparkly, I got distracted reading back by dd but how's your tooth? Are you having an op?

PurdeyBirdie · 28/02/2015 12:50

Sammy, you're going to hate me, but I think your true LH surge (by the sounds of it) was CD15 and you ov'd on CD17. In order to pinpoint ov, FF has to see three temps over the previous six, but because you have told them you had a true LH surge on CD14 it has pinpointed ov the day after. Was the test line as dark as the control on CD14? Can I see last month's chart to compare your LPs?

PurdeyBirdie · 28/02/2015 12:51

Dizzy, I think you ov'd on CD20.

PurdeyBirdie · 28/02/2015 13:02

MrsG, brill weight loss! I think FF have been spot-on pinpointing your ov.

Amy, FF uses a 'three over six' strategy in pinpointing ov. This means that the first three temps after ov must be higher than the previous six. If you look at your chart, this doesn't happen if you pinpoint ov at CD19. Furthermore, one of the brainy ladies on here found a study re the accuracy of using the 'dip' of BBT as the date of ovulation: it was only accurate 34% of the time when compared to ultrasound evidence of ovulation.

ozmund · 28/02/2015 13:15

Sorry AF got you Scrunchie
If it's any consolation I am a December baby and it is a bit rubbish. You don't get bought roller skates or bikes at that time of year.
FX for you and everyone else next cycle. Here is a lovely brew Brew

mummyofonesofar · 28/02/2015 13:31

Well done on the weight loss MrsG!

MrsGingerbread · 28/02/2015 13:54

Thanks everyone :)

Giddymamma · 28/02/2015 14:06

Afternoon mamas (/to be)! As there is no bun in my oven, I have been baking. One for sparkly and the quinoa crew maybe?? Pretty good substitute for real thing. Ds and even oh enjoying as we speak.

Nada to report here. Cbfm finally let me pee only to tell me my chances of conception are looooooow. Pah.

Hope all well, looking forward to seeing bfps start rolling in in a few days!

Ps Well done mrs g!

NO FLOUR, NO OIL, NO WHITE SUGAR
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites

Ingredients:
1 1/4 cups canned* chickpeas, well-rinsed and patted dry with a paper towel
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoons (165 grams) natural peanut butter (can use PB2 from gym to make healthier, check your labels)
1/4 cup (80 grams) honey (agave would be amazing too!)
1 teaspoon baking powder**
a pinch of salt if your peanut butter doesn’t have salt in it
1/2 cup (90 grams) chocolate chips

  • My can was a 400 gram can, 240 grams without the water, and I used all but a few tablespoons

** If you need grain-free baking powder, you can use 1 part cream of tartar + 1 part baking soda + 2 parts arrowroot.

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F / 175°C.

Combine all the ingredients, except for the chocolate chips, in a food processor and process until very smooth. Make sure to scrape the sides and the top to get the little chunks of chickpeas and process again until they’re combined.

Put in the chocolate chips and stir it if you can, or pulse it once or twice. The mixture will be very thick and sticky.

With wet hands, form into 1 1/2? balls. Place onto a piece of parchment paper. If you want them to look more like normal cookies, press down slightly on the balls. They don’t do much rising. Bake for about 10 minutes.

Yields about fourteen 1 1/2? cookie dough balls.
* Don't even try with regular peanut butter! They'll come out oily. You MUST use natural peanut butter
