Oh Sparkly, toothache like that is just the worst. I don't see how you can put off the op until after ov, is dh home now? Could you AI again incase you get called in?

Sweets27 · 27/02/2015 10:22

Hi sparkly, just catching up on posts and not sure I said hello when you joined from the Feb bus - hope all well, but sorry to hear you are suffering so much with dental pain on top of your health issues Sad

I haven't ever heard anything about antibiotics or anaesthetic disrupting tic, but totally understand you asking the question as you never quite know. TBH if you're worried I'd suggest doing it before ov rather than after, as after ov is when there's a chance you might have a little bean in there trying to stick. That said, I've not heard anything to suggest you'd have a problem.

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 27/02/2015 10:25

Sparkly, oh no! Get that sod out quick, you don't want it to get infected as then you will be out for a good month/two and some antibiotics don't touch the infection in the root of the tooth/gum area.

Only the X-ray would harm any potential bean but you'll be fine if you aren't currently pregnant.

A couple of injections and it's out! no antib's after either.

for the pain until you see someone oragel is brilliant.

spinningirl10 · 27/02/2015 10:26

Sparkly, I think egg collection for ivf is done under a GA so it must be ok and I would have thought better before than after.

Amyyy27 · 27/02/2015 10:30

Ah scrunchie sorry for your CP :( Flowers

I know I was a doofus for testing so early. I'm not phased by the BFN because of this! I'm gunna try my very hardest to wait until 7th March... it just seems sooo far away!

Nomio230 · 27/02/2015 10:39

Ugh. I just had to give a presentation in front of the class & we were by far the worst group. Because I missed 2 classes due to moving house, I got stuck with the loser group & their crappy ideas. I was so embarrassed to be standing there with our lame ass Powerpoint slides.

Rant over. Off to boil my head now.

Sweets27 · 27/02/2015 10:40

Amyyy, good luck sitting on your hands and not testing! Is 7 March your BFP due date? Mine is 5 March and I guess FRER would claim to be able to give me the answer tomorrow (6 days early), but I'm still only 7 dpo so I am trying to hold out until 5 March. So difficult!

nightandthelight · 27/02/2015 10:44

Thanks Sparkly. Hope you get your tooth sorted out quickly!

Nomio230 · 27/02/2015 10:48

sparkly I am so sorry to hear you are in pain. I had an absolute nightmare when I had my wisdom tooth out & ended up with a face the size of a football & on antibiotics for 2 months! Not sure why I am telling you that, as it is hardly confidence inspiring, but I just want you to know I feel your pain.

I would say get it done today if possible. I am sure you will be absolutely fine & it will all be over really quickly. When my Mum had hers out, she hardly had any pain at all. She took a couple of paracetamol & was back to normal.

amy way too early to test!

juney I really hope the cramps don't develop. I was so sure this was your month.

purdey keep the faith. As a wise woman once said to me "your baby is waiting for you". Grin

spinningirl10 · 27/02/2015 10:50

Sparkly, we were supposed to be out tomorrow night after student had gone but dp cocked up the date and as we're going out with friends and we've all had to sort out babysitters we have to tonight now so student will be home alone with pizza tonight!

Amy, deffo too early to test, wait a few daysSmile

mummyofonesofar · 27/02/2015 10:57

Sparkly Thanks. Hope you get your tooth sorted. I agree that it is better to have it done now before you ov rather than later though even then it wouldn't matter as the bean wouldn't be connected to your blood supply. The trauma may delay ov though so keep an eye on your temps. Good luck and sorry you're in pain on top of all yor other health issues. Flowers

Night Glad DH is on board and you can get going.

Spinning Yay creepy student will be no more and you don't have to put up with him on his last night. Wahoo!!! Enjoy your night out.

Sparkly123 · 27/02/2015 11:00

Thanks so much for your advice ladies. I'm a wuss when it comes to dental things which is ridiculous as I'm pretty easy at anything else medical related!!

I think if I get it out today I'll have to deal with pain and swelling but then it's out and over with, where as if I just take antibiotics if it is infected that will drag on and they are strong antibiotics so will make me feel rubbish anyway. Getting out means it's over and done with before OV too.. Basically, if we still AI over next few days it's ok right? It won't affect my chances I mean?! I'm being stupid aren't i?!

Nomio I just burst out laughing at your football jaw.. How awful!!! That's what scares me! I'm so sorry poor you. You have def reassured me.. Ha ha!!! That's the kinda thing that would happen to me.. I had a bad abscess once and my face was the same! I blame my rubbish immune system for all these gum issues! You are clearly the cool kid in the Loser group! I hope your day improves!!

Sweets hello! And thanks so much for advice!

Spinning dh in meetings about two hours away all day! We did it last night and planned to tonight and Tomor.. I'll manage to do it regardless of how i am ! Confused

Glittery eh are you a dentist?! Ha. Thanks for that. Can I ask why I would be out a month or two if infected? I'm hoping it's not!!

Amyyy27 · 27/02/2015 11:16

I know far too early Blush yes sweets thats my bfp due date lol. Ooo 2 days ahead i am totally envious ;) gl waiting! Im gunna try my hardest!

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 27/02/2015 11:37

I had mine out on the 9th Feb after it became infected.

The antibiotics I got given when it was infected wasn't advisable to take if pregnant. I had to take them for 10 days so depending on your cycle dates it could interfere.... it dragged on for ages and ages - and then I had to get it taken out anyway.

I had an X Ray to confirm the decay and they whipped it out within ten mins, I was on codeine for weeks because of it and hardly slept because of that fecking tooth. Since it has been out - I can finally close my mouth as now my teeth all line up nicely and no more pill popping when it starts to give me gip.

So yes - get that little sucker whipped out asap xxx

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 27/02/2015 11:39

Forgot to add - if it is infected the dentist wont touch it until the infection has gone. x

Sparkly123 · 27/02/2015 11:43

Glittery that sounds horrendous!! Oooft!!! So basically what you are saying is.. Pain killers are only gonna mask the problem and just get rid?! Normal teeth I have no issue with extraction it's just because it's wisdom im a scaredy cat!! Ha, thanks for the advice. I have to go in for assessment in a couple of hours.. I wonder whether they will give me the option there and then to just get it out! Confused

Sparkly123 · 27/02/2015 11:43

Oh no! So if there's infection they won't take it out?! Nooooo!!!! Why ever not!!?

Hairstylisttoboris · 27/02/2015 11:52

sparkly I have no useful advice but wanted to send you Flowers and a big hug. Get rid of it girl, it won't be as bad as you fear I am sure. Xxx

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 27/02/2015 11:52

They wont touch it until the infection clears up.

www.webmd.com/oral-health/wisdom-tooth-extraction

I doubt it is infected though - as you would know. You would be in so much pain.

Mine was impacted and then I got pericoronitis.

www.webmd.boots.com/oral-health/guide/pericoronitis

Sparkly, really push for them to whip the bugger out before it gets infected.

I was a wimp, I cried. They told me to stop whimpering as they had children in the waiting room.....oops. :/

Sparkly123 · 27/02/2015 11:55

Oh dear..Glittery it's been infected twice before!.. I should have got it out after then. Now I fear it's the same again and if I'm stuck with it that will be worse!! Arghhh!!! Thanks for the links. Fingers crossed..!!!

PurdeyBirdie · 27/02/2015 11:55

elegant can I give you some advice? Go and get your short cycles sorted out. They are highly likely to be the reason you are not getting pregnant (you probably have a too-short mitral phase). Secondly, if you are really desperate for a baby, don't postpone ttc; not for anything. I was 22 wks pregnant when I moved but I was as huge as a house - massive bump. You can do it. Also, a week- old baby sleeps all the time; 18 hrs a day.

PurdeyBirdie · 27/02/2015 11:57

*mitral should be luteal!

GlitteryLipgloss1 · 27/02/2015 11:58

Sparkly get the little fucker ripped out before it turns again and still carry on with AI. It'll be fine. You'll carry on as normal.x

PurdeyBirdie · 27/02/2015 12:02

illiria don't listen to GPS 're fertility: they know very very little. 3% morphology is not normal. Get your DH on zinc, vit c, selenium and coenzyme q10. On this cocktail I increased my dh's morphology from 3% - 21%, making our IVF successful.

I still haven't read beyond Illiria's post...

BowiesJumper · 27/02/2015 12:07

I had my wisdom tooth out a few years ago as it had a big cavity in it and was really painful. The extraction wasn't that bad you know, you could get lucky! It was done at the dentist rather than in hospital, and was under local. I actually quite enjoyed getting it tugged out (I'm weird - but friends have said the same!) and didn't hurt too much afterwards.

Fingers crossed for you!
