Aurora if you had twins would you bf them? I've got a friend with twins who does - she has a gigantic feeding pillow & lays them one each side! It seems like a mission though, especially if she's out & about.

Mumof1sofar · 02/03/2015 08:55

Just realised I forgot to share the link - here is said article about getting pg while bf-ing:

www.thealphaparent.com/search/label/breastfeeding?m=1

Mumof1sofar · 02/03/2015 08:56

Don't think that worked, sorry. I'm not doing v well this morning! Does anyone know how to link an article from the app?

ispyfispi · 02/03/2015 08:59

Yes I remember Eagle expecting twins! My sister's twins were the 'spontaneous, could happen to anyone' kind which also terrifies me!

I would definitely bf twins though as I don't know any other way of parenting! It's right what you said Pear, bf fixes everything, it always takes a while to figure out new ways to comfort them when they've stopped.
Mum I'll check out that article, thanks. My stats are ttc #4, 31yrs, lo is 16mo, no AF, he only feeds maybe 3 times in the day but lots at night as we cosleep.

ispyfispi · 02/03/2015 09:47

Wow, just read that article! It sounds way too good to be true but the thought of getting pregnant, without reducing bf, by eating lots of cake has got to be worth a try! Only kidding with the cake but I'll certainly try upping my calorie intake for a while, it certainly makes sense. Off to buy avocados Grin

Mumof1sofar · 02/03/2015 09:53

I know ispy... Good excuse Wink

AvaAmulet · 02/03/2015 10:34

Yes Rosie, I'm sure you could manage it! Smile I'm thinking - two boobies, two babies, sorted... Grin and I'm hoping DD would have self-weaned over the next 6 months...

AvaAmulet · 02/03/2015 10:54

Thanks Mumo! Just read the article...wow... Now I don't feel so guilty about eating half a (small family sized) cake when I had my cold/last ov - my body needed Me to do it to send signals to my brain that it could release and egg and have it stick and I'd be fine....it wasnt just me being a piggy.. Blush

Also interesting to read about breastfeeding stages and the 2+ acrobatics... I wondered why DD started trying to clamber all over me thus past year, whilst still feeding, and laughing when I'd say ... "Er, noo, mama's boobs don't stretch/can't go in that direction, sweetheart!!!" Shock Blush Confused

AvaAmulet · 02/03/2015 10:56

*This past year...

auroraboringalis · 02/03/2015 12:22

Hah-hah. Stretchy boobs. Grin
I miss my old boobs.
I would bf twins if I could even if only because the idea of washing and making a million bottles a day would do my head in. And bottles are not nearly as easy to transport as boobs.
You realise fearne probably didn't bf for very long. So she might have been having her af for months already. and probably having loads of help around the house to take care of DC and housework relaxed her plenty enough to conceive.

Still.
Envy

Swannykazoo · 02/03/2015 13:56

Oh boy. Little puggle is dairy, soya, egg and nut allergic so I've been avoiding all of those too so have lost shed loads of weight - which is great but I have been suspicious that its not helping the return of the old periods. I'm off to make myslek sick on Green + Blacks then....
Ava where was the article about breastfeeding stages? - I missed that

MarysPrayer · 02/03/2015 14:34

Love the all-you-can-eat article mumof1 Grin Seriously though, it makes a lot of sense. If food is scarce then fertility is supressed and vice versa in times of plenty!

I would certainly try to breastfeed twins. Dd was a manic cluster feeder though so I would take it very much one week at a time. You're right though it would be far more convenient. I'm a bit clueless about ff.

Pear my dh would be equally traumatised - like yours he's taken some nagging convincing to agree to a dc2.

MarysPrayer · 02/03/2015 14:40

For those with regular-ish cycles, where are you all at right now?

I'm cd9 and sooooo bored. Only just shrugged off AF (she likes to outstay her welcome these days.) Ov is usually sometime around cd13, I think. I really can't be bothered to dtd until it's 'worth it' though.

peardrop2 · 02/03/2015 14:47

Here is my first attempt. I know there are bits missing. You can either tell me the missing info or copy and paste yourself. Once it is complete then I'll create a new page. I didn't know if we want to add tracking to it? So I would list Under my name Tracking: Cbfm user. What do you think?

Ladies it was indeed me who conceived twins while still feeding away!

I also read that statistic and then discussed it with other breastfeeders - it was pointed out to me that the 12.4% statistic is based on one very small study.

So I think the ultimate conclusion is that BF and conceiving twins aren't necessarily connected.

I'm 29+1 now so the reality of BFing 2 newborns is looming large! I'm determined to do it even though I'm coming up against a lot of negativity.

Good luck to everyone TTC and have a look at the links in the previous thread, they're really informative.

ispyfispi · 02/03/2015 14:50

Haha re stretchy boobs, I was talking to a friend from my PN group and she asked how I found it comfy enough to feed while cosleeping as she couldn't manage it. I had to explain that by baby #3 (she only has 1) and after 4 and a half years of bf (in total) they're stretchy enough I can lay on my back ?? I may have scared her....

peardrop2 · 02/03/2015 14:50

Oh and I apologise that it is not alphabetic order ??

Eleganthedgehog - if you're reading this then I haven't added your name because I now you're TTC on hold for a couple of months

If I've missed anyone out then it's only because I've not looked at the old thread.

We have 12 current members on here Wink

Hi Puggle, I found the timelines on the homepage, the last heading along the banner, next to Triumphant Tuesdays (!?) - there's a drop-down and it's the first category x

AvaAmulet · 02/03/2015 14:56

Good work, Pear (AF returned when DD was 16 months though, not 6 months) Wink thanks for doing this x

ispyfispi · 02/03/2015 14:57

Hi Eagle, wow that time flew by, I hope the remainder of your pregnancy and delivery goes well. And everything that comes after that too obviously!

Wow Pear thanks for doing the stats, clever indeed! My missing info is: 31yrs, ttc #4 actually, bf on demand which is more at night than during the day!

MarysPrayer · 02/03/2015 15:04

Nice job Pear, thanks for doing that. Just filling in my info:
MarysPrayer -

Dc: Dd is 2.4 mths
Bf story: feeds 2-3 x per day
AF: returned when Dd hit 8 mths
Bfp due: 21st march

Hi the eagle. Congratulations! Thanks for coming back on to say hi. It's a bit cheaky but would you mind just giving us your ttc/bf/af stats? Or I could scour the pages of the prev thread) Smile

AvaAmulet · 02/03/2015 15:15

Hi Eagle, thanks for the update, sorry to hear you're dealing with negativity though Angry

Oh, and my BFP is due 8th March... It's so not going to happen this month though...(but I did eat a lot of cake, so maybe... Wink) x

peardrop2 · 02/03/2015 15:48

Mary - I'm on cd9. So understand how you feel today! I'm just hoping that I OV earlier now that I've dropped that night feed!

OK I'm updating the stats on my notepad as we go because I can't copy and paste on here. Once I've heard from all of you I'll make new page Smile

I think I would really struggle to bf twins with a nearly 3 year old. I would probably have to find some sort of compromise which is a shame.

OP posts:
TheEagle · 02/03/2015 16:18

Here are my stats:

Name: TheEagle
Age: 34
DCs: DS aged 17mo
AF: returned when DS was 7.5mo
TTC: Conceived twins on Cycle 3 when DS was 10.5mo
BF: DS was BFing 3x a day and 2/3x a night when I got pregnant. He weaned when I was around 12 weeks pg and he was 13mo
