Ok I just went to the toilet & when I wiped there was some blood - I think the start of af arriving early (cd24!) I guess my cycle is going to take a bit of time to regulate itself. Won't be trying in April but will keep up to date with the thread if you ladies will still have me & will try again in May. Lots of luck to all Smile

peardrop2 · 18/03/2015 13:15

Mumofone - Sorry to hear AF arrived Hmm I'm half tempted to join you in May. Every day I change my mind...or is that every hour Grin

Oh mumo I'm so sorry. I suppose one benefit of a shorter cycle is that the next chance comes around again quickly. I'm sure that's not much consolation at them moment though. Flowers At least you can have that Wine this weekend.

I'm still feeling like AF is gonna show this week. If she does I'm not going to stop trying next month though. Just calculated my due date if we conceive next month (obsessive?.. Me???!) and it would be Boxing Day. We're a family of late babies anyway. Dd was 12 days late, after a sweep so I'm certain I wouldn't give birth until Jan anyway.

Mumof1sofar · 18/03/2015 13:54

Ok I'm definitely not ttc this month... Just used due date calculator & if I did conceive the baby would be due on 23rd Dec! No way! I'll keep checking in throughout the month then try again next cycle... At least if it's another short one then I can try again fairly quickly Smile Lots of luck to all you lovely ladies Thanks

MarysPrayer · 18/03/2015 13:57

We've got a secret hey mumo? Wink

Duchess007 · 18/03/2015 15:17

Sorry AF got you Mumof1, definitely keep stopping by though! Enjoy some Winehis evening and treat yourself to some of that tempting Easter chocolate that the shops are full of at the moment!

Pear, sorry to hear you're not ovulating. It's so hard, especially after all your efforts! I'm really sorry. Thanks

Droflove · 18/03/2015 16:26

Sorry to jump back in to this thread now that I'm on the 2ww again:( Very rude but lost the will to post with bfn last month:)

So I've had 2 af with a 35 day cycle in between (usually 28 days exactly so that's why I was getting excited by day 30!! I guess its the sporadic bf'ing messing things up). This month we dd on day 11, had noticeable cm in the days after so I believe day 11 was way too early! I did my first ever OPK's for the fun of it over last weekend (day 12-15) and yesterday noticed a much darker line so dd last night. Now I'm really wondering! Ahhh, the 2ww.

On a side note, dd'ing has been pretty non-existant since dd arrived 6 months ago. Really want to have a little fun before ms kicks in but also don't want dh to think I'm only doing it for next bfp! The truth is that I suddenly, along with af coming back, have my mojo back. Anyone else notice this massive change if you have af after (while still sporadically) bf'ing?

Mumof1sofar · 18/03/2015 18:51

Droflove I had that - a massive difference!

So this af is still very light, almost non existent Confused I'm still waiting for it to turn into 'proper' af iyswim. Tbh I wish it would just get on with it instead of messing me around. Did anyone else have similarly light af when their periods returned? This is only my 2nd one since giving birth but is so far a lot lighter than the first.

Droflove · 18/03/2015 19:18

Mine have been about normal in heaviness but lasted a few days longer than usual I guess bit then I've only had 3 periods since April 2012 with having the 2 babies and bfing.

peardrop2 · 18/03/2015 20:23

Mum - yes I have. I've had light cycles and heavy cycles

Hello lovelies.

I apologise in advance if you think I shouldnt be posting here - I've not been on the thread for long and I only whine when I'm here. I desperately am not trying to be an eejit or upset anyone, but....

I got a positive on a frer this morning. Very early days still, so I have everything crossed and it feels a bit jinxy to announce here, but I am in case it might give you ladies some hope too.

37, ttc #2, cycle 2, cd 28. Still b'feeding my 17 mo before he goes to sleep and on demand through the night.

I had been gearing up to wean him but was in two minds. I spoke to national breastfeeding helpline recently and they said to keep feeding. They told me to look at the kelly mom website as there is a tiny reference to chance of ovulation after af comes back while still feeding. It starts quite low first month, then jumps to roughy 50% second month and then.... Research stops re still b'feeding! Then it says there is another jump the next month ie first month after weaning, but lady on phone reckoned that jump should occur even if you continue to feed. She reckons that most people keep feeding for a few months and then stop and ovulate but might have ovulated soon anyway. I don't know if that helps anyone but it was comforting for me.

I hope you and little ones are all okay and that you get your bfps very very soon. Thanks to everyone who answered my questions, gave me lovely advice and everything else. Flowers

Swannykazoo · 18/03/2015 20:59

Its actually very reassuring thanks giddy and congrats!
If you don't mind me asking, when did AF return?
Best of luck with it all

Mumof1sofar · 18/03/2015 21:02

Congrats again giddy Smile Can I ask what supplements you were/are taking (eg pregnacare breastfeeding)? Smile

Giddymamma · 18/03/2015 21:07

Aw thanks puggle. He was fifteen months.

Thanks mum. Been taking the pregnacare pregnancy and breastfeeding one, but a bit haphazardly. Now panicking, won't forget again.

auroraboringalis · 19/03/2015 09:19

Thanks giddy. I'm going to believe your post. New gp told me likelihood of ovulating first sthree months after af returned while bf is very low, and stays low until total weaning. Can't tell you how down I was after hearing that. Gp said keep bf it's good for dc and never mind a small age gap between dc. Like giddy's news better. Fourth month ttc properly now, will be third AF when she comes but no indication of ov yet so haven't even bothered with DTD yet. Gp told me to DTD eod throughout cycle. groan

Droflove · 19/03/2015 10:29

Congrats Giddy! You must be thrilled. Will you keep feeding while pregnant? I always wonder if that would feel horrible with morning sickness and breast tenderness.

Just regarding ov. I didn't realise you could likely have anovulation the first few months if still bf'ing. I got pregnant with my dd on my 2nd cycle so only had 1 af last time. I had just finished feeding ds but I think I was still doing a morning feed. I remember af came almost the moment he started sleeping through.

This time, I am still feeding through the night (2-4 times??) and doing sometimes a 5pm feed but as soon as I switched her 2pm to a bottle, I got my af. She was already on bottles for 11am and 7pm as I went back to work after 6 weeks and it was just easier to combination feed. It is amazing to me how af suddenly kicks in once you go a certain amount of time a few days in a row without bf'ing. As for ovulation, I don't know about the 1st month but OPK's this month would indicate ov. So I don't know if that helps anyone who has an af but is worried they aren't ov. I'm pretty sure that cycle 2 I have ovulated. This is gonna be a long few weeks and I'm not overly hopefuly as its so hard to find space to dd so we are a little light on chances.

Giddymamma · 19/03/2015 11:46

Morning, thanks lovelies! Gp told me the same thing as yours aurora... I suppose I wouldn't expect the bf helpline to tell you to stop feeding....They are so lovely but their advice whenever I rang for whatever reason was always to just keep going!! I know the boy has got to be weaned at some point but I've no plans to stop feeding yet. If this little bean is a sticky one (oh I hope I hope it is) then when morning sickness kicks in I may feel differently! X

Droflove · 19/03/2015 12:20

I just did an OPK for interest sake. Its totally totally negative. So I got a strong line on Tuesday (can't remember when in the day), dd that night. Didn't do OPK or dd yesterday and totally negative today. Does that mean ov is totally over now and I may or may not have hit it?

Duchess007 · 19/03/2015 13:32

Congrats Giddy! Thanks What fantastic news! So encouraging to hear that it really is possible Grin

eggsnbeans · 19/03/2015 18:50

Hi ladies sorry for the absence, been so busy with work and getting ready for an audit it's been crazy!
mumof1 are you sure you're not having implantation bleeding? I had similar with both dds and fobbed off as light period then got a bfp a week later!
austral B6 took a couple of months to help my LP last time so don't be disheartened.
CD10 here, don't ovulate until CD 21 though so still waiting for DTD in earnest to start! LPlast cycle was about 9or10 days, which is as long as it's ever been though, so hoping things are working OK in there!

Giddymamma · 19/03/2015 18:55

Thanks duchess. Lots of luck to you. X

auroraboringalis · 19/03/2015 18:58

Thanks eggs. Maybe I should start again? I've been lax this cycle as it made no difference to the lp of the cycle I took it for, so sort of stopped taking it regularly this time around. Hmm Damn.
I'll start again tomorrow. No idea when I'll ovulate. Did you continue taking it after ovulation (presuming you can confirm it with temps etc) or did you stop? I've read conflicting accounts of what you should do?
Cheers giddy. What do they know anyway. Met a woman this week who fell pregnant again when her dc was four months and she was bfing full time. Feck.
Sounds like it drof Confused

Mumof1sofar · 20/03/2015 05:16

Thanks eggs but it's much heavier now so definitely af Confused Oh well, this is only my 2nd af since they came back so I guess it might take a bit longer for my body to get back to normal.

On the plus side I was able to go out for dinner with a couple of friends & enjoy some wine WineWine

Hope everyone's ok... who's testing next??

peardrop2 · 20/03/2015 07:26

Hi everyone, sorry I've been quiet. I've been in a sad hole lol Guess what? CD27 and I've peaked lol 6 days until AF arrives so the chances of implantation are zero. Plus I gave up DTD so I haven't done anything since Sunday night. The irony! I had a huge glass of wine on date night last night. Obviously relaxing and forgetting about it all has helped release an egg! I can't believe last week I was so on top of things....it's just soooo unfair lol I really wanted to avoid only DtD on peak day so I could up my chances of having a girl. Oh well, no point dwelling. I thought it was really odd that my downstairs department was doing things!say that I lease the egg today. Is there any chance Sunday's speerkcould have lived?

Congratulations Gisdy! Hope it's a sticky one for you Smile

Last night was the first time in two weeks that DS slept from 7-6:30am. The none broken sleep must have something to do with me ovulating or the fact that I had given up Hmm
