Happy Mother's Day everyone! Hope you've all been spoilt rotten, and that the poorly LOs are better soon. Will be keeping FX for all of you on your 2ww.

Bought some B6 today so going to give that a go as stage one of hopefully getting AF back. Hoping that now DS is over his latest bug I can persuade him to try a few more solids and stop wanting 24/7 milk!

auroraboringalis · 15/03/2015 19:14

mum soy isoflavones are supposedly a natural alternative to clomid. It supposedly, at the right dose, blocks your oestrogen receptors so your body thinks it isn't producing enough. So then it pushes more into the body, which stimulates your ovaries and follicles if you are currently ovulating. Post-partum cycles are sometime anovulatory and since my lp was so short my literature review tells me it is likely to be because even though I have LH surges I am not producing any eggs yet. So I'm hoping to trigger ovulation with the soy. Will probably only start next cycle though as you're supposed to take it while you have your period and not after. Hmm

peardrop2 · 15/03/2015 20:15

Ooooo Rosie!! Please can what you say be true Wink I did really enjoy eating those sweets lol It's quite odd to think that AF will possibly be returning in 11 days. It feels like only yesterday that she left this time!

Wow aurora, that sounds great. Will be following with interest. Might try & get hold of some for next cycle Smile

peardrop2 · 15/03/2015 23:09

Tmi alert.... Definitely more cm downstairs. This has to be a good sign! Feeling hopeful that I might see a peak in the next two days. Even though I know it's probably too late in my cycle again, it would be nice to see something develop!

OP posts:
peardrop2 · 15/03/2015 23:18

Are all these natural remedies safe to take whilst bf? That would be my concern.

OP posts:
auroraboringalis · 16/03/2015 05:30

pear not enough studies on safety in breastfeeding but the academic literature says that as it is a limited intake (five days only) they don't expect a safety issue. Same academic literature also says there isn't enough evidence to say that soy actually works properly, so I think pinch (or spoon of salt) is needed. I'm not a natural remedies person really. So I'm definitely pushing the supposedly factor.
But big but it can inhibit breast milk production. Clomid is sometimes prescribed to help women stop lactating so I would take it if I needed my milk supply to be top form. At this stage I don't mind it dropping as it can only help with dc feeding less and thus bringing about ovulation and a proper lp again.

peardrop2 · 16/03/2015 07:59

Still high ?? 11 days of highs now. Maybe my peak will turn up tomorrow on cd24 like last month Hmm

OP posts:
Mumof1sofar · 16/03/2015 10:41

Pear I've never used the cbfm but can't believe you've had 11 days of highs??! Surely that's a long time to be fertile? You & dh must be knackered from dtd Wink

Duchess007 · 16/03/2015 11:13

Hi guys. Hope you all had a lovely day yesterday.

I'm CD20 today. Not even sure if I've ovulated yet though, so I feel like it's been a very long 20 days so far! Did someone say up thread that heavy periods were more likely to indicate ovulation? Since mine have returned they have been very heavy (sorry tmi!) so I'm holding onto the hope that I am at least ovulating, even if I can't pinpoint when. I think I'm definitely going to have to start using OPK's and temping next cycle, but just feel like I'm giving up on this cycle too soon if I order them now. OPK's have been sitting in my amazon basket for about five days now! Maybe I should invoke the law of sod?

Pear, you are such a trooper with all these highs and the DTD'athon! Not 100% sure how it all works, but I'm assuming highs are better then lows so small bright side maybe? If you got CD24 last month maybe your body is starting to get back into a rhythm and you will peak tomorrow as you said. Fingers crossed for you!

I'm having a lazy day today as I somehow ended up cooking Sunday lunch for 8 yesterday(!), still not sure how that happened. DTD last night so all good on that front. Smile

Duchess007 · 16/03/2015 11:15

Sorry, belated welcome Special! Smile Must read thread properly and not skim! Welcome to the madness.

Mumof1sofar · 16/03/2015 11:30

Duchess sounds like you deserve a quiet day after all your cooking yesterday!

I'm (I think) 6/7dpo & feeling more tired than usual. Boobs also feel fuller. However these could also just be total coincidences. We actually only dtd 5 times this cycle & it is cycle 1 so it's very unlikely I could actually be pregnant!

I keep thinking about that research that says if you're bf-ing your chances of conceiving twins goes up to 12.5%!! Ahh imagine finding out you were having twins!!

auroraboringalis · 16/03/2015 12:12

mumof yes it's true about chances of twins increasing. But your chances of falling pregnant in the first place goes down massively. Which stinks! grumbles at injustice of it all

Swannykazoo · 16/03/2015 13:24

Ooops - lost the thread - thanks aurora
So, a TMI question:

No Af still - Ds nearly 15months and lots of night feeding though a bit of a daytime reduction (hurray)
Things are still terribly post-menopausal feeling as far as dryness in the fanjo. IYSWIM. Or at least how I'd imagined post-menopausal to be.
I am currently worrying that I've accidentally gone through the menopause and not realised. I know BF can really reduce oestrogen levels - has anyone else had this? I'm hoping it might come rigjht as things start to work again.......

peardrop2 · 16/03/2015 14:48

Duchess - we're close in cycle days Smile

Mumof1sofar · 16/03/2015 16:23

Puggle I had this & would really recommend pre-seed Smile

auroraboringalis · 16/03/2015 18:14

puggle bf is a hormonal disaster zone for mother (and a wonderful retreat for babies). It'll probably fix itself if you stop feeding or start to drop feeds. If you are really worried you could go see a private gynae if your gp won't agree to test your oestrogen for you, just to set your mind at rest. :)

ispyfispi · 16/03/2015 19:20

Yes Puggle, me too in the early pp days to the point of tearing when dtd Confused Thankfully it gradually improved as we started weaning and now at 16mths pp is fine. My GP was useless as he didn't understand why I wouldn't just stop breastfeeding! I'm sure it will improve for you too but I certainly feel your pain. My ds is 16 mo, still feeds day and night and no AF here either (unsurprisingly!)

specialk1980 · 16/03/2015 21:50

Puggle, I'm exactly the same as you. That, combined with the lack of interest in DTD I've had since DS was born, and AF showing no sign of returning, would seem to indicate that I'll be hanging around this thread for a long time yet!

peardrop2 · 17/03/2015 07:52

Cd24 still high. Feeling very weak and faint this morning. Was very tempted to POAS Ic lol GrinGrinGrin Obviously didn't though because that would have been a waste!

Swannykazoo · 17/03/2015 08:18

Phew - not just me then! I feel a long-term place marking coming on -we can be buddies special

Mumof1sofar · 17/03/2015 08:27

Eek pear, sounds promising! When are you poas? I am on Monday (if I can wait that long) - anyone going for the same day?

MarysPrayer · 17/03/2015 09:45

Morning all. Smile
mumo, af is due at the weekend so I will be your Poas buddy on Monday if she doesn't show! Determined to wait this month as pee sticks are getting expensive and it's only cycle three! I've been getting some cramps on and off for the last few days, which did sound promising but I then realised the exact same thing happened last month Sad
How's everyone's dcs doing now? all better I hope.

Mumof1sofar · 17/03/2015 10:03

It's a deal, Mary. I hope af stays away for you. I am itching to poas already but if I start now I will have to do it every day (as I'm so impatient) & I'm sure I will waste loads of money! So I'll do it on mon which will be cd28... Surely not too early to test?Smile

My dd is much better today thanks. Hope all the other LOs are too Thanks

peardrop2 · 17/03/2015 12:12

Ooh I won't be POAS until next Friday morning. AF is due next Thursday. I'm going to have to DTD again today in case I peak tomorrow. Man this is hardcore TTC Hmm I know I keep saying and thinking this but I really don't think I can keep going Shock
