Just wondering what your very first indications were? It's way too early for me to test but I've got tender boobs which is not typical for me during my cycle and period type cramps, and again not typical for me.

I am probably clutching at a million straws but am interested in your experiences.

DH reckons I have a heightened sense of smell, but I just think he needs to put his work boots in the other room!

I know what you mean oyster. I really want a BFP, but AF would also mean a return to sanity for 2 weeks, so I think would be equally welcome, especially for my poor DH who does not seem to understand how agonising the wait is.

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 09:50

BFN this morning Sad. Didn't really expect a positive, but still gutted Sad.

Going to be a long wait!!

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 10:30

Sorry to hear that Nessie. Fx for a BFP for you soon. I managed to persuade myself not to test this morning, but I know that if the cheapie tests I have ordered arrive today then I will probably test tomorrow.

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 10:51

I used my last cheap test this morning. Now I'll have to buy more expensive ones & save them for few days at least Sad

Porchrules · 23/02/2015 10:56

Just got back from the docs - she didn't do another test but just checked my blood pressure etc and sent me away with the midwife details - which is exciting! I went crazy and treated myself to an expensive digi...and a first response (as its the only brand I hadn't yet tried!) and got very strong positives on them all, which is very exciting though also very odd. Hasn't sunk in at all.
So, just for posterity and hopefully to help someone, my symptoms were:

  • sore boobs (I always get a bit tender with AF but they felt different and 'heavier' - although they are only wee 32Bs!!)
  • my heart rate felt faster - out of breath easily
  • mild cramping in lower back and ovaries
  • last Tuesday I had lots of twinges in my right ovary and cried all afternoon (?!)
  • appetite is not quite right - wake up starving but not feeling hungry in the day
  • trouble sleeping (blocked sinuses)
  • no nausea at all (yet)
Good luck and everything crossed for some more bfps soon you lovely, wonderful women. Xx
Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 11:00

That's annoying, you might get cheap ones in a couple of days if you order today? I have some ASDA ones but when I opened them up, they say that they are no good until first day of missed period so I don't want to waste them. I also bought first response ones on Friday that I used over the weekend (too early I think). I ordered cheap ones off Amazon on Saturday (15 for £2.80) and paid an extra £1.50 for express delivery (instead of free delivery). Hoping that they work as otherwise I will end up spending far too much on the more expensive ones!

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 11:03

Huge congratulations Porchrules that is so exciting. Smile Flowers

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 11:18

Oh Porchrules thats fab Grin.

Amazon would take til Fri at earliest to deliver to me, I looked this morning Sad. But hoping a nurse friend can get me some on Thursday. I just know Im going to be testing every day so I'll have to get some to do me til then.

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 12:05

Ok ladies, brutal honesty needed here. As far as can tell I ovulated last Sunday. Ive been feeling 'off' since monday, and 20 minutes ago I got hot & woozy, left shop I was in and proceeded to throw up in car (luckily had nappy bag Smile). If the test was negative today & most places say no morning sickness til bout wk 6, am I pregnant or not?

I feel like crying cos test saying no & head saying yes Sad.

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 12:34

I am a strong believer in the fact that we know our own bodies and know when something is different. There is lots of anecdotal evidence on the internet that some women can and do get very early symptoms of pregnancy. But at the same time, I know that really wanting it to be positive means that we can link together all sorts of symptoms and think that they will add up to a positive. It's difficult either way, I'm trying not to get too disheartened about negatives until AF actually arrives (or doesn't… fx!), you may be too early for a BFP, I'm pretty sure I was when I tested over the weekend.

Tammisaurus · 23/02/2015 13:35

Hey ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining in. Basically, I had a mc in December and started ttc again mid jan time. I THINK my AF is due on Friday but have been a bit irregular since mc do not 100%. For the past few days I've had crazy sore and heavy boobs, some twinges and have had spotting on/off since weds. I've had weird heart palpitations (which I never get) and seem out of breath all the time. These are all similar to what I got before my last bfp but don't want to get my hopes up too much. Sooooo frustrating :( I hate the 2ww and going insane symptom spotting haha! x

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 14:07

Thanks Pixie, its just so flipping frustrating not knowing. Partner on to me to go to doctor either way cos feeling so rubbish, and of course cant get appointment until thursday Sad.

I know I shouldnt get my hopes up cos so unlikely, but difficult not to.

Then you get someone like Tammi who deserves some good news after a mis, and I feel even more guilty for hoping I am when realistically I might not be. Hope you do get good news Tammi xx.

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 14:25

Everything crossed for you Nessie, understand that it is so difficult not to get your hopes up.

Tammi so sorry to hear about your mc. As Nessie said, you really deserve some good news so fx for a BFP. Smile

DH just got home from work and saw his parents this morning (he's their postman) and his dad said that I was "looking well" yesterday when we were there, which is a really weird thing for him to say. I think they think I am upduffed! Blush So maybe I'm not the only one symptom spotting like mad!

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 14:26

My mother told same to me the other day, at the height of me feeling rubbish. Maybe we'll be lucky that they have 6th sense Grin

Tammisaurus · 23/02/2015 15:55

Thanks ladies, really hoping for some good news. Cant stop symptom spotting though despite reeeeally trying not too haha.

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 16:27

It's so hard not to symptom spot. At least we are all in the same boat Smile.

Tammisaurus · 23/02/2015 17:18

Yeah its nice to find others in the same boat haha. Its hard not to get a little bit excited too considering I seem to be getting similar symptoms as to what I had before my last bfp. Spotting still though so trying to convince myself I'm not up duffed haha! x

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 17:36

Guess we should be glad we should all know for sure one way or another in next fortnight or so Smile.

Doesn't make the wait any either of course Sad.

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 18:55

I was so pleased to come on here and find others in the same boat. I can officially say that I'm not a fan of the two week wait! My cheap internet tests did not arrive today, if they don't arrive tomorrow I'm going to have to go and buy a shop one as I need to know before my day surgery on Wednesday. Sad

Paperblank · 23/02/2015 19:09

I think my tww is all but over and that bloody AF is on the way.

Really really crampy tummy here Sad

However in reality what it means is that I get to spend a bit more time in your company and spotting crazy symptoms.

Gonna get on with the OPT's and SMEP the second AF does one

x

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 19:11

I'd be keeping a morning sample to test, whether its the internet or shop tests.

Course you could always mention it before surgery & they'd prob test you for free Grin.

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 19:15

Ok Paper, I'll bite, what on earth does OPT & SMEP stand for Confused.

I will prob regret asking Shock Grin.

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 19:40

I was wondering what they meant too! Confused

I hadn't thought of keeping a morning sample Nessie, that's a good idea. Is it ok at room temperature for a few hours? Please tell me I don't have to put it in the fridge!

I think they will test, but I want to go prepared. If I am then I will have to wait until the afternoon to tell DH. FIL is taking me to hospital and picking me up as OH can't get the time off.

Further symptoms today include more random tears (I said to DH I'll clear this if you can put everything else back in the fridge, he said that he would do it all and I should sit down and relax), feeling crashingly tired despite a full night of sleep and slight crampy twinges. Still no sign of my usual hormonal spots on my chin either (which I am delighted about!).

Nessie100 · 23/02/2015 19:53

Im sure its fine at room temp, prob better than making it cold. Just make sure OH or FIL dont find to ask what it is Grin.

Aw to the random tears Sad. Im such a mess usually every month that tears would be nothing new Wink.

Pixieperson · 23/02/2015 20:24

Hahaha! I would be mortified if that happened with FIL! Blush If I pop out for a test while DH is at work tomorrow, then I can test before he comes home and asks where I got the apple juice! Glad room temp should be ok, easier than putting in the fridge and forgetting about it!

DH just said that he hopes I get a BFP soon as that would explain all the symptoms and the random tears. He also says I have 'pregnant brain' although his only point of reference for this is part of an Ed Byrne show that he has on DVD where he talks about his wife having baby brain. Smile
