More bad news from me out of the 7 good sized follicles only 3 eggs have been retrieved. Won't find out if they are mature or have fertilised until tomorrow. Really devastated as this is worse than the worst case scenario that I had imagined. So fed up of it all it seems that nothing goes right at any stage for us. I know people will say it only takes one but I have pretty much given up hope on this cycle now

Lucie know how you feel my scan was crap not a single follicle above 10mm on cd10 they want to rescan an Friday don't really think there is much point feeling totally disheartened and pretty sorry for myself but fx for that elusive one for you!

Lucie - yes they did give us a discount...sort of.
The way they work it is they refund us the whole package, but then re-invoice for what we've had. It worked out as more because of the cost of freezing 5!

Hi Hopefully, so sorry to hear of your MC. You sound like you're having a really tough time, and your dh doesn't sound very supportive. Have you explained that the only way you can get all the tests for you is if he has the SA?

Cori - how was your scan today?

Trixie - good luck with the AF test results, agree it sounds like an icky job!

Oh Lucie, sorry about your results, its so awful when things don't live up to your expectations. You never know lovely, one of those three could be your baby.

As for me, I'm just waiting.
Am on cd26, but with ov being so later it could well be cd33 before AF arrives. Based on that I've been trying to work out my transfer date, but realised I have no idea how long I'll be on the injections/ pills for a frozen cycle??

Work have pretty much said I can't have the 6th October off so I'm not sure what I do if this is the date the clinic gives me?? Xx

Lucie, I'm so sorry your collection didn't go as well as you hoped. It is really hard but don't lose hope with this cycle. I hope the cocktails are helping.

Thanks Sammy, I'm going to take norethisterone to delay AF so that I don't end up taking time off when my boss is off. I'm sure they can arrange things so your transfer isn't on the 6th.

Thanks both, this whole IVF process is such hard work. Just when you think something is going ok something else goes wrong. I don't think the short flare protocol did my any favours really. Have discussed with dh and we will see what happens over next few days but we will probably try and start another cycle mid September and go back to the short cetrotide protocol but just make sure I have the cetrotide a lot earlier to prevent ovulation. Can't believe we've gone to all this effort just for it to go wrong again. Oh I had to reset me password too. Don't know what's going on with mumsnet.

It's always good to have a plan in place Lucie, good luck tomorrow I really hope you get 100% fertilisation again.

Trixie meant to ask how does northisterone work in delaying af? When do you need to take it and how do you know when af will show up? I have some but not sure how to use it?

You start taking it 3 days before you expect AF, one in the morning and one in the evening and then you stop taking it 3 days before you want AF to start. Worked really well for me. What time are you expecting the call today?

Yes, though I think it can be a bit sooner/later from what I've read on the Internet. Definitely worth calling your clinic sooner.

Had an email from the lab saying my results are ready. They've not received payment yet though so can't release results and I don't have the transaction receipt. Have sent them a screen shot of my transaction history showing money leaving my account so fingers crossed they release my results.
Have day off today for counseling session this morning and then nurses appointment afterwards.

Got my results...my sample tested positive for hidden c but negative for everything else. Results say nothing about treatment. Going to speak to my clinic this afternoon and maybe email Serum if necessary.

Oh that's what I tested positive for trixie so you can have my protocol from serum if you want to. The UK will just prescribe you 7-14 days of antibiotics. Most UK doctors don't really believe in this testing as it doesn't show up on their std tests. Serum have trialled different protocols for treatment and have come up with one they think works best. It's a lot of antibiotics though!

Made the call and of the 3 eggs retrieved 2 were mature and both fertilised. Obviously it's better than none and I'm really pleased with our fertilisation rates which have been 100% both times but it's been an awful cycle for us and our doctor agrees we should go back to short cycle with cetrotide. I think we will need a miracle to get these to day 5 for freezing but we are looking ahead to starting again mid September.

2 out of 3 is brilliant Lucie. Would you be tempted to have transfer this cycle?
Would you be able to pm your treatment protocol so I can show the nurse here? Just had my counselling session. Was really good.

Yes I'm pleased with the fertilisation but it's still an awful cycle considering we had 7 last time. I'm fine with it though. These things have to be tried. We are on our way to the airport now. I don't think there is any benefit to doing transfer now as if they don't grow in the lab then they won't grow in the body and when I have transfer I have a million extra things that I want to take which I haven't started now like prednisone, clexane, gestone and intralipids so I'm happy to wait. One would be amazing on day 5 and then we would do another round to add to it but we really don't expect it this time.

Thanks so much Lucie, you're a star! The nurse at my clinic hadn't heard about it but the Doctor had. He is happy to prescribe antibiotics but she was going to run the full protocol past him and then I need to let her know whether I want a prescription or whether to get meds delivered again.
Have time before my FET to take all meds, not sure if I'll get DH on board but we'll see.

I really hope both make it to day 5 Lucie. Safe flight home

Ooh and what are intralipids? Had a quick Google when I came across them before but didn't understand...
