Hi there, well after being 5 days late af finally showed up today! It's my first 28 day cycle for years. My cycles are normally stupidly short and around 23 days. I'm putting it down to the antibiotic treatment for hidden infections. I really do think it's made a difference!

I did my first buserelin injection tonight and then I'm adding in stimms tomorrow night. I've got scans next Monday and Thursday and my flight is booked for a week Friday. Really hoping that things go better this time around as don't know how many times I can keep on doing this!

Wow, annoying that AF was so late Lucie but great that you seem to be back to a 28 day cycle. I'm planning on doing the testing for hidden infections this cycle but DH is dubious and thinks we should accept the testing the clinic did pre IVF. I think it is worth doing and am going to send a sample off anyway and if it comes back positive cross that bridge then.

Exciting that you are injecting again. Remember you're doing things differently this time, crossing everything for you.

I felt the same about the hidden infection testing and was a little sceptical but it was something I wanted to cross off the list before my second attempt. I really didn't think I would notice any difference but I think it's too much of a coincidence that I've had my first 28 day cycle again. I didn't tell my dh I was doing it either until it came back positive and he had to take the antibiotics. He was fine though and said it was worth a try and wouldn't harm anything.

Sammy, hidden infection testing is done by a clinic called serum in Greece. They test for about 10 hidden infections including hidden chlamydia which they say doesn't show up on the UK sti tests. They say that it's very unlikely to conceive or have a live birth if you have any hidden infections. They seem to have had quite a bit of success after they have been treated with people falling pregnant naturally.

That's really interesting, so how do you go about doing it if you're not having your treatment through them?
I'd definitely consider it if our first round isn't successful.

It's a little unpleasant the test as you have to send off a small sample of your af blood for them to test the DNA! Little bit gross but well worth it in my opinion.

Hi Sammy, good so far thanks. Day 4 of stimms today and no side effects so far, hope they are working! I've got my first scan on Monday morning which I'm feeling nervous about. Second scan on Thursday and then fly on Friday if everything is ok. How are things going with you? Has a date been set for your fet?

Ooh, good luck for the scan tomorrow. I'm sure it's working. I had no side effects what so ever up to egg collection.

No, nothing's booked for me yet. We had a provisional FET date of 6th October but I'm currently on cd17 with no sign of ovulation so am fairly sure AF will not be arriving on cd29 as planned. Sigh. Guess we're looking more like mid October for transfer now, unless it's so late that they allow me to do it off the back off this cycle.... Xx

Grr, how frustrating Sammy. Are you temping? Would be really good if the delay works in your favour though and you end up going next cycle.

AF has arrived for me a day later than expected (got my hopes up a bit yesterday afternoon) no post IVF miracle for me. Now to sort out a sample to send off to Serum.

Scan is at 8.50am tomorrow morning, I will update you both afterwards. Praying for good news. Sorry to hear ovulation is delayed a little Sammy. Like trixie says it would be amazing if that meant you could get started at the end of this cycle though. I know how hard the waiting part is. I think it's worse than actually doing the treatment. Think I spoke too soon, got a positive opk today. So that's about three days late. Not enough to get us in for next cycle I don't think.

Still no temp rise this morning though

Your temp rise could be tomorrow Sammy if you ovulate today, that's what normally happens with me.

Didn't sleep too well at all last night Just want to get this morning over with.

Yeah, I forgot to opk Saturday so I think I probably had my first positive and I usually get a couple of positive days before ov, so fx for a temp rise tomorrow! Xx

I've had the scan. I was so nervous I was practically crying as soon as I walked into the room. She must have thought I was a right nutter! It's an okish response. No where near as good as yours or trixies but not too bad for me. She measured 8 follicles altogether which I think is how many I had on my first round. They are a lot more even this time and are measuring between 6-10mm on day 7. Normally I would have one or two big lead follicles at this time which would be 16 or 17mm so the plan was to try a different protocol and medication to get them to grow closer together. 6 of them are between 8- 10mm and the other two are 6-7mm which I think may be too small. Although now they are closer together I may be able to stimm for a bit longer to allow them to catch up to a decent size? I was a little disappointed as had hoped for a couple more. I collected 7 eggs last time and 6 were mature and all 6 fertilised so will just have to hope for a similar sort of result again. My scan on Thursday is the one I'm dreading the most as this is where it usually goes wrong for me. I've got visions of either ovulating early again or them not growing. I'm just terrified of these scans!

Oh bless you, that's sounds pretty promising though, and yes, they will stim you for longer if they're all not quite big enough.
Are you on suprecur and menopur? With pregnyl as a trigger?
If so I think it's practically impossible for you to ovulate early, providing you do the trigger 36 hours before collection. I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Xx

Thanks Sammy, I am on 0.3ml of suprecur a day. I'm also on a combo of Gonal and Bravelle but will be switching to Bravelle and Menopur from today. I have a different trigger called ovitrelle. I asked her about ovulating early on suprecur and she said it doesn't normally happen but has on ocassions for the odd one or two women so can bet that will be me if anyone!!

Glad your first scan is out of the way Lucie, great that you have more even growth this time. Remember, you only need one good one. Try to keep positive for Thursday. I think my trigger was ovitrelle.

Sammy, I think it can take a few days for your temp to rise after ov.

Have sorted out my sample ready to send to Serum, was a bit grim collecting it but at least it is done now and feels good to be doing something, fingers crossed it comes back clear.

Thanks trixie, feel a little better about it now. Just hope there is good growth on the next one. I'm really happy that they are all fairly even now and no dominant follicles as technically I should be able to stimm until they are all a decent size now.

Glad you got your sample sorted for serum it's not the most pleasant is it but I'm convinced it has helped me. They also told me that my dominant follicles could be because of my short cycles and then I had the 28 day cycle before this treatment and now they are even

Weirdest thing after months and months of ttc: pretty sure I'm ovulating, and just told dh NOT to ejaculate inside me!

The clinic said no this cycle, and I'm going to do everything they say if it'll help my chances in the long run! X

Oh sorry to hear that Sammy. Af always seems to mess us about when we need it to arrive at certain times. Hopefully your temp will rise tomorrow.

I hope so because I did an opk this morning and it was negative :(. So either I ovd early this morning and progesterone hadn't risen enough to increase temp or I haven't ovd at all
