A friendly and welcoming thread full of lovely women.

Oh Trixie, well I guess the only positive is that at least it wasn't delayed. Hope you're being looked after?

My boobs have been sore for a while on the other drugs, so I won't notice that. I think I'm getting dehydrated though, my pee is quite dark. So trying to drink lots. Xx

TrixieRay · 12/07/2015 16:45

Yes, DH is taking good care of me. He took me out for dinner last night to a restaurant we've wanted to try for ages and we went to see the Minions film, you can't watch the Minions and be sad.

Drink loads Sammy, I was drinking so much I was constantly in the loo. What are you drinking? Smart water is good as it has electrolytes in and coconut water and lucozade are good too.

loopylou1984 · 12/07/2015 19:30

I've has lucozade and some fake lucozade stuff that we got from a sport shop, but mostly water and milk (for the protein).

Rrrr the minions!! I want to see that! Xx

TheTravellingLemon · 12/07/2015 19:55

Just wanted to pop back to give Trixie these Flowers and this Wine and wish Sammy the best of luck tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you.

loopylou1984 · 12/07/2015 21:12

Thank you Lemon. X

lucieloos · 13/07/2015 08:45

Good luck Sammy let us know how you get on x

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 12:15

Hi all, egg collection done, they got 18!
Home now and dh is taking care of me as feeling a bit sleepy and quite uncomfortable. Xx

lucieloos · 13/07/2015 12:39

Wow that's brilliant Sammy! Looks like lots of frosties for you too. Have a nice relaxing afternoon. Do you have to ring up tomorrow or will they ring you?

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 12:50

They will ring me, I'm not sure how many to realistically expect to be ok? Xx

TrixieRay · 13/07/2015 12:58

That's brilliant news Sammy. Sure you'll have lots fertilised with that many collected. Just try and focus on resting now - easier said than done though!

TheTravellingLemon · 13/07/2015 13:06

Wow! I don't know much, but that sounds like loads to me. Well done and take it easy.

TrixieRay · 13/07/2015 13:06

Thanks Lemon Smile

Have just booked our follow up for next Monday, pleased that we can have it nice and soon. Feeling sad today, called in sick cos I just couldn't face work.

lucieloos · 13/07/2015 13:21

Sammy you should get good fertilisation from that. I would have thought at least 10 but probably more.

Trixie, sorry to hear you are feeling sad. It's not easy, it's good you have your follow up booked in though and can start looking ahead to the next attempt.

I have rearranged some things in work for September so if I want to do frozen instead of fresh transfer then I'm all clear to do it now. Going to research into things properly this week and then decide.

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 13/07/2015 14:47

Just popping in to say hugs to Trixie Flowers - it sucks, but it gets better, I promise. Wine is good, gin is very good also (I am speaking from experience!)

And when you're ready - doing a FET is so much less stressful than a fresh cycle, so it's not going to be like this again.

Sammy - 18 eggs is loads! Well done you! remember not to push yourself too hard, you've just had an operation. Relax and put your feet up, and make sure your DH looks after you!

Lucie - I'll try and keep you updated on how my FET goes, in case that makes a difference to your decision making. So far there is a lot of waiting, and it's almost too straight forward. I found the fresh cycle very stressful, and it wasn't helped by the fact that I was bordering on OHSS so incredibly worn out and painful.

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 14:57

Thank you everyone, we just watched a movie and dh has made me lunch and drinks, and brought me chocolate so I'm rewarding him by letting him watch the golf for half an hour!

I think the consultant was even surprised at getting 18! He spoke to me straight after, but I can't remember any of what he said!

Trixie - I'm sorry you're not feeling good today, hope you have some chocolate to cheer u up? Glad you don't have to wait to long for the follow up. Xx

spinningirl10 · 13/07/2015 16:16

Sammy, 18 eggs! Excellent news. Pleased to hear dh is looking after you. I hate golf, had to watch it all evening yesterday with dp!

Trixie, feeling sad is totally understandable. Eat chocolate, drink wine, whatever helps a little. Sending a hug.

lucieloos · 13/07/2015 16:49

Sammy what day of your cycle did you start taking the suprecur?

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 17:04

I started the suprecur from day cd3 - the day of my baseline scan. Xx

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 20:13

Did anyone get quite a bit of discomfort after egg collection?
When ever I move it feels like there is air trapped inside me, stabby pains in my lower tummy. It's not excruciating, but constant. Xx

TrixieRay · 13/07/2015 20:23

Thanks for the hugs. Feeling a bit better now, I was just so convinced it was going to work it's hard to accept that it hasn't. Have had some chocolate Smile

Lucie if you go for a FET in Sept we could be cycle buddies.

Sammy I had a lot of discomfort. Whenever I stood up or sat down it hurt and it hurt when I went to the loo. I took done paracetamol the evening of transfer as I ached all over. I was still suffering when I went for transfer. Keep resting and keep drinking.

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 20:41

Trixie that makes me feel so much better (although sorry you suffered too). It does hurt when I go to the loo. All I want to do it take ibuprofen but the clinic forbids it!
Have a hot water bottle which helps a bit.

Glad you're doing okay, I can't even begin to imagine the disappointment after all the build up. Xx

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 13/07/2015 20:48

Sammy I had a lot of discomfort after collection. It felt like something between trapped wind and constipation and lasted for about a week (sorry!). I ended up taking a whole 5 days off work in the end because of it, but it did go away, I promise. Going to the loo sucked quite a bit, I think that was the worst bit.

Paracetamol definitely helped. Actually I took a paracetamol before embryo transfer because I was really tender down there and I think that made it a far more pleasant experience that it otherwise would have been.

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 21:00

Oh dear. I'm a bit worried about transfer if I still feel like this. Should I let the clinic know I'm in pain do you think? Xx

loopylou1984 · 13/07/2015 21:48

Oh and Toes, you described it perfectly! X

lucieloos · 14/07/2015 00:00

Toes, thank you that would be great if you could keep me posted with how it all goes. I have heard lots of people say that fets are so much more chilled out than fresh transfers and I kind of like the idea of separating it into stages now and dealing with the stress of egg collection etc and then having a little break before transfer.

Sammy I also had discomfort after egg collection. I got them to run some painkillers through my drip before I left the clinic which helped a little but I felt it a lot that day. I had a good nights sleep though and it was a lot better in the morning. Hopefully you will be too.

Trixie, hope you are feeling a little better after your day off. Would be great if we were cycle buddies in September and had our fets together. I managed to rearrange stuff in work today so I now have that week clear if I do want to go ahead with it. Will you definitely be going for yours in September?
