Trixie - remember 5dp5dt is actually only 10dpo... You know what we'd all say to someone poas at 10dpo!

At my clinic I have to poas and call them with the result on a set day, no blood tests as far as I'm aware. Keeping everything crossed for you.

You know what I found weird? When I had my baseline scan and they printed off a picture for their records. Same format as a pregnancy scan, but just an empty womb. It very nearly made me laugh out loud at the ridiculousness of it all! X

lucieloos · 07/07/2015 13:17

Your body is going through a lot at the moment Sammy so only natural to feel quite tired. I also had quite a few headaches as well.

Trixie, I agree that 5dpt is definitely too early with an Internet cheapy. I will probably test at 7dpt next time but definitely only with a frer. I know what you mean about only doing it as you could reassure yourself it is too early tho. Looks like it's all happening on Friday then. Will be thinking of you both.

I priced up the new medication recommended by the UK doctor today and it was so much cheaper! It's practically the same as gonal f in that it's pretty much just fsh in it with a tiny bit of lh but to have enough medication for a whole cycle would only be around £500! Last time I paid over £1000. I have some gonal f left from last time and she said it would be fine to use that up with it so I would be looking at only paying £300 this time around which is brilliant.I havent heard back from the Czech doctor yet as it was a bank holiday there yesterday. I'm hoping she will agree with it though as that will be such a saving for me!

TrixieRay · 07/07/2015 14:21

I ordered some FRER yesterday off Amazon even though I will be too scared to use them!

They gave me photos of my HyCoSy Sammy for some reason, makes no sense at all to me...

That is brilliant re cheaper meds Lucie!

loopylou1984 · 07/07/2015 22:45

Lucie - that's amazing!! Wow, fx the Czech doctor goes for it!

Trixie - a picture of your HyCoSy to take home?! Why would they think you'd want that?!

It's very odd, but I feel fine in the evenings after doing the injections, it's just in the mornings for a few hours that I feel bad.

Question - how long before the trigger did you stop doing the other injections? Xx

lucieloos · 07/07/2015 23:37

The other injections stop the day before the trigger Sammy. Then you do the trigger, the following day is injection free and the day after that is egg collection.

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 07:04

Thanks Lucie, I'm worried about running out of menopur - there is so little in the bottle... Although having just worked it out there's only 8 dossed in there so that's up to Thursday night then I have my scan Friday so it must be planned.... Maybe I should call the clinic to check? Xx

lucieloos · 08/07/2015 07:28

Would you be able to get more from the clinic while you are there on Friday? It wouldn't hurt to call and check if you are worried.

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 07:33

Yeah I can't remember what they said. I know they mentioned that if we bought more from them it would be more expensive because there's 20% VAT added, so I guess they keep a stock. I'll call them on my lunch I think, otherwise I'll just worry about it! Thank you, xx

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 12:52

Called the clinic and got the voicemail, so waiting for a nurse to call me back. I hate taking clinic calls in the office... Have to do that awkward dash out of the room!! X

lucieloos · 08/07/2015 19:05

Did they get back to you Sammy? How are you doing trixie, have you tested again or you definitely going to wait for Friday?

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 19:12

Yes, they said it's planned that way, as its expensive they issue the smallest amount possible. They have stock of it so will give me more on Friday if needed.
How are you doing? Xx

lucieloos · 08/07/2015 19:45

Yes good thanks. My doctor got back to me today and pretty much agreed to what I wanted. She did say doing this short protocol there is more chance of ovulating early than if I did the long protocol but I would worry I would be too suppressed on the long protocol and wouldn't respond as well. I'm sure the suprecur kicks in pretty quickly to prevent any ovulation?

I'm trying to decide at the moment whether to have a fresh transfer or to freeze my embryos on day 5 and go back for a frozen transfer the following month. There is lots of evidence now which shows that frozen transfers may be more successful as your body isn't as stressed with all the stimulation drugs and your ovaries have had a chance to rest.

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 20:09

Well I started the suprecur in cd3 so little chance of ov before then. I think the scan they do that day is to check the size of the follicles and if they're too big then they won't let you start. Maybe that's what your doctor meant? Fab that she agrees with you though :)

Yes, I've heard that about frozen ones. My consultant actually said the nhs are thinking about stopping funding of fresh cycles and only offering frozen for this reason. I get that it's a tough decision though, and I'm really not sure what I would do in your situation. Xx

TrixieRay · 08/07/2015 21:39

Glad your clinic got back to you about your meds Sammy. I remember worrying about running out.

Lucie, back at work tomorrow so won't test otherwise if it's a BFN I won't make it to work. Have to go to my clinic on Friday for a blood test then they will call me in the afternoon with the results. Bit of a miscommunication with DH and he's not booked the day off so will be at home alone when I get the call. Plan to buy a bottle of wine in case it's a BFN.

Interesting re FET vs fresh transfer, I had really bad swelling so if it's a no then that's what I'm blaming it on.

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 21:47

Oh Trixie - I have everything crossed for you for Friday!
How are you feeling now? Has the bloating etc subsided? Xx

PurdiePipesDown · 08/07/2015 21:59

Ladies, it is all so horribly unknowable and uncertain, but you don't have to have nerves of steel. Buy that wine, Trixie, and tell yourself you are allowed to despair if the news is bad. You will get through a BFN, like Lucie got through her pain. It isn't the end when the nurse says it hasn't worked.

Sammy, tiredness is hard, but it is soon forgotten. Have faith, ladies, and keep looking up Thanks

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 22:11

Thanks Purdie - I felt better today (which made me panic that things aren't working!) and only 1 more dose until first scan.
How are you doing? Xx

Purdiepipesdown · 08/07/2015 22:16

I'm well thanks for asking, Sammy. A third scan today at 10+4 showed all is well.

lucieloos · 08/07/2015 22:19

Sammy the suprecur takes a good few days to shut off the hormones so think that's what she means. In the beginning it actually flares up your natural fsh and lh levels until they have run out so if I started it on day 3 with my track record of early ovulation it could well be day 7 before its kicked in fully and my natural lh levels might have started to rise again by then and would be too late to stop ovulation. I asked if I could start it on day 1 and she has agreed so hopefully that will be enough for me. I assume you will go for fresh rather than frozen transfer this time around Sammy?

Trixie, keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you. Really hope you get that bfp but as purdie says it's not the end if you don't as you have zillions in the freezer. Hopefully you will only need them for a sibling though.

loopylou1984 · 08/07/2015 22:20

Yay!! So pleased for you Smile
Half way to finding out the sex!
Thank you for sticking around to hold our hands through all this, Xx

loopylou1984 · 09/07/2015 07:04

Lucie - sorry my lovely, crossed posts last night and missed yours!

Oh I see, I don't usually ov until cd13/14 so I guess that's why no one mentioned it. Yes, we're having a fresh transfer, but am really hoping for some back up frosties like Trixie! Xx

Kalyissa · 09/07/2015 07:20

Been TTC now for 14 months and then on Tuesday I took a test but when it didn't show positive straight away I binned it, checked it 3 hours later and it showed a positive, so this morning I took a clear blue and got :

imgur.com/H7nfrrM

It looks like a positive right?

lucieloos · 09/07/2015 07:27

I don't usually ov until cd12 either Sammy but the drugs make my follicles grow much faster and keep bringing it forward. Would love to be in trixies position too with lots of lovely frosties!

Purdie really pleased to hear all is well with you. You definitely give me hope.

loopylou1984 · 09/07/2015 07:31

Looks like it to me kaly - congratulations.

Oh I see.... I hope that hasn't happened to me! Gah!! Should have kept dtd a lot in case! Lol. Xx

Kalyissa · 09/07/2015 07:34
