A friendly and welcoming thread full of lovely women.

Thanks Trixie, and congrats on blasto success! May I ask which clinic you're at?

Spinning, thanks love. There are 3 of us on the Feb thread who are 43 (one turned 44 today and I'm 44 next month). We had a fourth member at 43 but she miscarried. It feels like a miracle and yet there are clearly plenty of 43 yr olds conceiving Smile

Sammy, well done, missus! Remember when this moment felt too scary and disappointing to contemplate? Well...it wasn't, and your baby is waiting xx

loopylou1984 · 02/07/2015 22:43

Thanks Purdie. You know, I really don't know how I would have made it to this point without you and the other girls on here. Xx

spinningirl10 · 03/07/2015 07:06

Ah thanks Trixie, I'm hoping we all get our Bfp soon! Wow lots of frosties for you, that's fantastic!

Sammy, pleased the jab was ok.

Purdie, that's amazing! It gives me hopeSmile

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 07:36

Just remember that your doubts and fears will not dictate the outcome of your cycle. It's natural to fear the worst xx

TrixieRay · 03/07/2015 17:44

Thanks Purdie, I am at City Fertility in London, part of the Gennet Group.

Had a call from the Consultant who did my egg collection and transfer this morning to make sure that my OHSS symptoms haven't worsened and to make sure I am resting. My symptoms have got much better which is great but sticking with the resting and fluids as provided this has worked symptoms could worsen again as HCG rises.

Feels a bit weird, transfer was only 2 days ago but I am technically 7dpo...found myself googling 'symptoms 2dp5dt' earlier then had to give myself a talking to.

loopylou1984 · 03/07/2015 21:14

Jabs day two done!

Suprecur seems to give me a red rash for a couple of hours, anyone else? Did first menopur tonight which hasn't caused a reaction at all so far... Hope I got the dose right! Xx

loopylou1984 · 03/07/2015 21:15

Trixie - 7dpo!!! Wow! It's so exciting. X

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 22:15

Yay for brave stabbing! Don't fret about rashes, sweetheart, you'll find the skin stops reacting fairly soon.

Trixie, I am enormously impressed by what I read about City Fertility and Gennet. Massive good luck to you I got my bfp at 7dp5dt after testing out the HcG shot, which had left by 3dp5dt

loopylou1984 · 03/07/2015 22:31

Thanks Purdie - why do you think the suprecur really stings and the menopur didn't at all?! X

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 22:36

Because the Suprecur was invented by a man.

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 22:43

On a serious note, buserilin (suprecur) spreads beneath the top layer of the skin in a way that menopur doesn't, causing the sting-y rash. Are your needles 5mm?

loopylou1984 · 03/07/2015 22:54

Thanks Purdie, that makes sense... Especially the part about it being invented by a man!

I'm not sure if they're 5mm, do you mean the length of the needle? Xx

purdiepipesup · 03/07/2015 23:02

Argh! I'm not sure. I keep reading they need to be 5mm and not the 2-3mm which some pharmacies send in error.

loopylou1984 · 03/07/2015 23:05

Hmm... Well they look identical to the ones we were shown at the clinic. Hopefully they're right!
It's too late now! X

loopylou1984 · 05/07/2015 21:27

Trixie - how are you doing? Xx

TrixieRay · 05/07/2015 21:48

Thanks Purdie, they've got a great team at City Fertility and I've felt very well looked after.

Sammy, I'm ok thanks. Have had cramping on and off for a few days (I always get cramping the week before AF) and am over analysing Everything. How are you? When's your next scan?

Lucie, how was your appointment?

loopylou1984 · 05/07/2015 22:16

I bet you are, I'll be exactly the same! When is your test date?
I have a scan on Friday. Going by myself as it's right in the middle of the day, so fingers crossed it's ok!

Yes Lucie, how did Saturday go? Xx

lucieloos · 05/07/2015 23:22

Glad you are ok trixie, the 2ww is the worst bit. Try and keep as busy as possible and don't look into symptoms as the progesterone causes so many.

How are you getting on Sammy?

The appt went quite well. She basically confirmed what I knew and said I had definitely ovulated early on both cycles because of having the cetrotide too late. She said after ovulating the womb lining changes and so even though I had 2 blasts transferred the first time it's highly unlikely they would have worked no matter how good they were. It's so disappointing really as so much money to waste but trying to move on from that.

She said if I were to go there they would use a short flare protocol so I basically take a drug from the start of my cycle which prevents ovulation and causes natural fsh to flare up for the first few days of the cycle which also helps to stimulate the follicles as well as the drugs. I was a little worried as this drug then suppresses the follicles a bit which scares me as I thought maybe they wouldn't grow as well but she seemed to think it would be ok and should cause the follicles to grow more evenly as I had quite a bit of variation in size last time. I think I want to give it a try and have emailed the Czech Dr to see if she would be happy with it. It's scary as at least with my other protocol I knew that I would get a decent number of eggs but just needed to control the early ovulation but this one is very unknown and I have no idea how I will respond. I'm going to try and not have too many expectations this time and just see what happens. If it doesn't suit me then it's something else that can be ruled out.

loopylou1984 · 06/07/2015 06:45

Lucie - that sounds like what I'm doing. Suprecur from day 2 to prevent ovulation then menopur to promote the follies to grow! Glad you have a plan and fx the Czech clinic agree.

I'm ok, feeling really tired this morning but not sure if that's a busy weekend or a side effect. I seem to be sleeping really heavily at the moment too. Cc

lucieloos · 06/07/2015 06:59

That makes me feel a little better Sammy that you are doing it too! Hopefully it will work for both of us! Your body is going through a lot and you have all those little follicles to grow so it's only natural to be more tired I guess.

loopylou1984 · 06/07/2015 07:12

I've never felt like this before, didn't even hear dh get out of bed! Crazy!
Really don't want to go to work today. X

lucieloos · 06/07/2015 08:54

I feel the same Sammy, I feel really anxious about things today as I have so much to sort out. I really wish I didn't have to go to work until it was all over!

lucieloos · 07/07/2015 08:05

What's happening on here then? How are you feeling trixie? Is it this Friday you have your blood test? Sammy when is your first scan?

loopylou1984 · 07/07/2015 08:57

Hi Lucie - my first scan is on Friday at 11. Tonight will be my 6th night of injections. I'm ok, but finding it very hard to wake up in the mornings which isn't like me, plus feel a bit headachey and slightly nauseous... Am hoping these are good signs! Xx

TrixieRay · 07/07/2015 12:32

Lucie, glad your appointment went well. I have heard many times that the first IVF cycle is like a test to see how you respond, at least you have a reason now for why it didn't work and with this new protocol it sounds like you will have a really good chance. Have you heard back from the clinic yet?

Sammy, I had some headaches and mild nausea when I was injecting. I got increasingly tired and bloated as they went on. Try and take it really easy, rest as much as you can and drink loads of fluids.

I am with you girls on not working until this is over. I am so fed up of my job, the thought of having to go back after a BFN fills me with dread. I am meant to go back to work on Thursday, going to call my clinic tomorrow to make sure they are happy for me to go back. Felt a bit like I had some mild OHSS symtoms again Sunday pm and yesterday but ok today. I have to go in on Friday for a blood test in the morning and then they will call me around 4 hours later with the results. I really do not think I will be able to take the call! I am getting emotional just thinking about it. This is definitely the hardest part. On google lots of people seem to get a positive result 5dp5dt so I POAS yesterday and got a BFN, was an IC though, I think I only did it because I knew if it was negative I could reassure myself that it was too early.
