Trixie - looking forward to your update tomorrow! Xx

TrixieRay · 28/06/2015 20:44

Glad you got the meds sorted Sammy. Any sign of AF?
I'm desperately hoping that all 8 embies are going strong. Was debating going to work tomorrow but still feeling a bit sore and won't be able to concentrate anyway.

loopylou1984 · 28/06/2015 22:17

No AF yet, but she's due tomorrow. I stupidly poas this morning because my temp was still high, but got a bfn. Think I must have slept badly and messed my temperature up! Keeping everything crossed for you for tomorrow Smile. Xx

loopylou1984 · 29/06/2015 06:54

Temps way way down this morning... Even though I expected it I'm still a tiny bit disappointed Hmm.
Trixie - you're unexplained too right? I'm having a morning of 'well if there's nothing wrong, why isn't it working, and who's to say IVF will help?' Talk some sense in to me please!
What time will you find out about your embies? Xx

TrixieRay · 29/06/2015 11:24

That's perfectly understandable Sammy. Temp drop is horrible. Try and stay positive for IVF. Yep, unexplained here though pco could potentially be throwing things out of whack. The embroyologist said between 10-11 but nothing yet. I'm assuming if transfer will be today they'd let me know sooner rather than later.

TrixieRay · 29/06/2015 12:52

Call came at 12.30...was just about to call the clinic and find out what was happening. Out of our 8 embryo's 4 are grade A and perfect but the other 4 are apparently showing abnormal movement so the embryologist is discounting those though they may still make it to blastocyst stage. Based on having 4 grade A embryo's on day 3 he says the chances of them making it to blastocyst stage on Wednesday are very high so will be having transfer then. I asked if he could give an indication as to whether we would have anything to freeze and he said he would be disappointed if there is nothing to freeze so fingers tightly crossed.

Will be heading into work tomorrow and then have a reflexology appointment in the evening to keep me nice and relaxed before transfer. Slightly concerned about overheating in the heatwave on Wednesday!!

Sammy remember that it is the hormones speaking at the moment and you will feel better when AF arrives. In a natural cycle we have only one egg a month but with IVF we have more chances and then there are all the meds to help achieve pregnancy. I am currently doing progesterone pessary's morning and evening plus a clexane injection in the evening to thin my blood and promote implantation plus prednisolone tablets morning and evening. I am sure IVF will work for all of us.

lucieloos · 29/06/2015 13:37

That's great news trixie so you have 4 good ones going forward. Will you have two transferred back? Really hope you get some for the freezer too. Wish I had some frosties as it makes life so much easier.

TrixieRay · 29/06/2015 14:06

I know Lucie, having some frozen would really take the pressure off. I think we are just having one put back, that's what the clinic said but then the embryologist asked how many we are having put back....If nothing for the freezer and we still have 2 good ones on Wednesday I would be tempted to have 2 put back but we will see.

loopylou1984 · 30/06/2015 06:53

Trixie - hooray for four grade As! Keep us all updated!
I too am preying for frosties - I've heard a lot about frozen cycles being more successful so would take the pressure off to know we had that option. You're right, it is my hormones, af arrived properly this morning. Not sure whether to call clinic or not as Thursday scan was booked based on it being cd4 and now it will be cd3... Does it matter? X

TrixieRay · 30/06/2015 07:51

Sammy my clinic wanted me to be on day 2 or 3 for my first scan and I was on day 3 so all absolutely fine Smile

loopylou1984 · 30/06/2015 08:47

Thanks Trixie Smile
My booklet says day 2-5 so won't bother calling them. X

spinningirl10 · 30/06/2015 10:14

Morning ladies, just saw Lucies update on BN and came looking for you.
Lucie, I'm gutted for you that this cycle hasn't worked out. How disappointing, I hope
Your appointment helps to make a decision about your next cycle. Will you use the same
Clinic in Czech?

Trixie, keeping fx for you for tomorrow and that you have some left over to freeze. I think I'd have 2 put back in if I could! I am so hoping this works first time for you.

Sammy, sorry about af. Mine is on its way, woke up with terrible stomach pains in the night. For you though, now that af is here you can focus on your ivf. I shall hang around if that's ok and I can see how you're all getting on. I have my fingers tightly
Crossed for you allGrin

lucieloos · 30/06/2015 10:31

Hi spinning, lovely to see you here. I find it easier to chat here sometimes as not so much going on as BN but still love all the ladies there, they have been so supportive.

I'm gutted that we had to cancel and really annoyed with my doctor but I am hoping to still try once more there but to do the things that I think should be done. I have a consultation with Gennet the beginning of August so if it doesn't work out next time I will probably move to them after that.

Hope all is well with you. Sammy, sorry AF arrives but glad you can get started and hopefully you will have that bfp very soon. Good luck tomorrow trixie.

TrixieRay · 30/06/2015 13:36

Thanks ladies Smile
Spinning, lovely to see you here, yes definitely hang around!

Lucie my clinic here is part of the Gennet group. I have been really happy with them so far. Hopefully starting the cetrotide earlier will ensure that your next cycle is a success.

Had a call from my clinic to say that my transfer will be at 1pm tomorrow and I am to drink a pint of water an hour before. Had a practice today to see how long I can hold it and have currently managed over an hour and a half though am sat here with my legs crossed!
How long did your transfer take Lucie? I don't want to be so desperate I am tense and have to jump up straight afterwards but equally don't want to run the risk of the transfer not being as successful as it should because my bladder isn't full enough.

lucieloos · 30/06/2015 13:43

Thanks trixie, my transfer was so quick and easy. It was done in only a few minutes. I was like you and drunk a few glasses of water before setting off for the clinic but we got there early and had to wait around an hour before the transfer. I was desperate for the toilet so had to go. I drunk another cup or two of water after that and all was fine and was areally easy transfer. I wouldn't drink so much as that you are really uncomfortable as the ultrasound lady also presses down on your stomach which makes it worse. I was just about right when I went in, some minor discomfort but nothing I couldnt deal with.

TrixieRay · 30/06/2015 14:03

Thanks Lucie, that's really helpful. Managed to last until 2pm so hopefully will be fine tomorrow.

loopylou1984 · 30/06/2015 21:35

Spinning! Lovely to see you here :) Of course you can hang around!
I'm kind of glad AF is here, was getting worried that she was going to be mega late and mess up all the timings! Sorry your AF I on her way too :(

Lucie - I feel the same, this thread is so much easier to keep up with, but I have to stay on the bumsnet bus too...I'd miss everyone too much if I left!

Trixie!! Tomorrow! So exciting :) :) :)
Did you get confirmation on whether you're having 1 or 2 put back? I will only be allowed one, my clinic are quite strict on it now because they have been told they have to keep their twin pregnancy rate down. So now yo only get 2 put back if theres a good reason, ie age/previous failure etc.
A full bladder? I mentioned this at my appointment following the nurse saying they always ask for an empty bladder...and she didn't think I would be asked to d any part of it with a full bladder. Will report back after the event!

Purdie is meant to be coming to see us on here..... Purdie???? Xx

TrixieRay · 01/07/2015 06:44

Woke up at 5 am and too excited to go back to sleep! Can't believe it is actually happening today. Pretty sure we'll just be having the one (and hopefully something to freeze- fingers tightly crossed)
Yep, empty bladder for all the scans and egg collection but full for transfer as it helps them place the embryo.

loopylou1984 · 01/07/2015 06:49

Oh Trixie!!! In a few hours time you will be PUPO (pregnant until proven otherwise)! What time is the transfer? Xx

lucieloos · 01/07/2015 07:34

Good luck today trixie Smile

TrixieRay · 01/07/2015 07:42

Thanks Lucie Smile
It's at 1pm Sammy, can't wait to be PUPO.

spinningirl10 · 01/07/2015 09:12

Trixie, good luck today!Grin

loopylou1984 · 01/07/2015 13:58

Trixie - are you PUPO?! Xx

TrixieRay · 01/07/2015 16:07

Thanks Spinning!
Sammy I am Grin just waiting for my really slow laptop to load up so I can update you all properly.

TrixieRay · 01/07/2015 16:30

Soo, got to my clinic early to find they were running about 20 minutes behind....ended up having to go to the loo and was told to go for 4 seconds and then stop- impossible! Drank a few more cups and was bursting again by the time we went in. Embryologist made me laugh and I really thought I was going to wet myself.

Anyway, saw our blastocyst on the screen which was so exciting. Out of our 4 he said it was between 2 and that we should have 3-5 to freeze (amazing!!!). The doctor examined my abdomen and noted that I am bloated, have been since soon after starting meds. Turns out that my ovaries are the size of oranges so no wonder I am bloated. Other than some discomfort no symptoms of OHSS though I am at risk. Was worried that transfer would be called off but she was happy to proceed. Had some bloods taken afterwards and am under strict orders to rest and drink plenty of fluids. Have to call the clinic on Friday to let them know how I am doing and if I start to feel unwell I am to go to A & E. Slightly concerning but trying to keep calm and positive.
