Had my appointment - I think I was a bit unprepared for all the information. I feel like I need to hibernate for a bit now.

So providing AF arrives on Monday as expected I will be having my scan and first injection on Thursday 2nd July. The meds are a bit scary aren't they? Xx

Not long to go now then Sammy. The meds are scary but you'll be absolutely fine. I felt much better once I'd got my first one out of the way. After worrying about doing my second one, the cetrotide, by myself this evening it was easy peasy.
My head was spinning a bit after my nurses appointment but they gave me an info booklet which is really helpful and the nurses have been really good at my scans taking time to answer any questions I have.

Hey there! Wow Trixie you have lots of follicles. Hope some of your smaller ones catch up! Sammy everything will fall into place when you start your injections and it will all become clear. It's really not too bad at all.

I had my first scan today. It went quite well for me. I have around 11 follicles, the largest of which is 16mm. I have quite a few between 11-12mm and then a few which will probably be too small. At the moment it's looking like I may possibly collect around the same as my last cycle which is around 7-8 eggs fingers crossed which I am happy with. She said my lining was really good and triple lined. Next scan is Thursday and I think egg collection will be Sunday or Monday. Our flights to czech are booked for Saturday eeekk!

Drugs are ordered though so should be getting a call from the company to arrange delivery. I had a go at injecting myself (with an empty needle) and it was fine, so I'm less worried about that now.
She said I'm at slightly increased risk of OSHH so I'm to eat a high protein, high salt diet with lots of water. What was your AMH score?

Thanks Sammy, I'm not sure what we will get up to yet. It's quite a nice little town with nice parks and shops and the weather looks really good so it will be like a mini holiday. I'm looking forward to it now!

Was looking out for your update Lucie, glad your scan went well and everything is looking really good, so exciting! We could end up with egg collection on the same day.

Great that you got to have a go at injecting yourself Sammy, I got taught how to do the injection but didn't get a practice run. I am pretty worried about OSHH so have really upped my fluids. The nurse at my clinic said that coconut water is good to help prevent OSHH as it has electrolytes in and also lucozade, luckily both were on offer when we did our shopping at the weekend. I wasn't at all keen on the cans of coconut water but coconut water by Innocent isn't too bad. I think a high protein diet is really good for IVF. My AMH was around 31 when I had it done in September, not sure what it is now.

Thanks trixie, I'm a bit worried now though as my largest follicle was 16mm yesterday which is day 7. Last time around my largest follicle was 17mm on day 8. They didn't start me on the cetrotide until day 9 last time and by day 10 scan the largest follicle had disappeared. The UK clinic said they thought I would start on cetrotide last night but I emailed my doctor in czech and she wants to to start it tomorrow which is day 9 again so I'm worried that the large follicle will disappear again. It seems late to be starting it in my opinion and I'm tempted to just do it tonight so will be inbetween what UK and czech say. I'm just worried thy taking it too soon will slow growth. When did you start yours trixie?

How confusing to be told different things by the UK and Czech. My treatment plan said to start Cetrotide on day 7 but on my day 7 scan they said to wait until day 8 so started then. I had a dominant follicle on day 7 on the left (not sure how big) but by day 10 (yesterday) I just had several around a similar size. When I asked my clinic what happens when just one follicle is dominant they said they will let it go as the other follicles are not ready.

Oh ok thanks trixie, that's interesting what they told you about the dominant one. I was always under the belief that it would be the best quality one and so I wanted to try and save it this time. So hard to know what to do!

I know, it is so hard. When I looked at the dominant follicle on the screen I started to get quite attached to it thinking that it was the one! now I'm not even sure if it is still there.

Yes Trixie - I was told high protein, high salt to prevent OSHH! Just read through everything and my head is less jumbled now. My drugs are suprecur and menopur, then pregnyl as a trigger and cyclogest pessaries.

They are being delivered on Saturday!!! Eeek! X

OHSS even!

I'm really cramp all of a sudden this evening. It's 2 days later than usual but not late enough for af cramps (I hope!) - hate that things change month to month! X

Hi ladies, quick update. Had my 12 day scan this morning and my egg collection is going to be Friday! Eek, I am really crap at remembering all the numbers/sizes of follicles but definitely had a few around the 19mm mark and the nurse thinks we will get between 9-13 eggs which I am really happy with as that it what we were aiming for.

Oh well done trixie! That brilliant news and will be great if you can get that many. Fingers crossed for you and update us when you can. Got my day 10 scan tomorrow so I'm hoping that goes ok.

Have decided I am just going to work a half day tomorrow as I have been feeling pretty tired and want to have plenty of time to get ready for Friday morning. Luckily work has been quiet at the moment and my boss has been really good.

Hi all. Been lurking for some time and at that point when I need to be able to communicate openly with like minded individuals. Hope its ok to join this thread. Been ttc for more than 3 years now and found out I have a heart shaped uterus. I also have an underactive thyroid. Partners SA was normal as is my cycle and tests etc... Been through low points but am taking some time off trying otherwise I may have gone mad. Next step to be determined at hospital Monday...

Hi Buddy. Sorry to hear that you have been ttc for so long. I have only been trying for half that and have certainly had some low points. Does having a heart shaped uterus affect your chances of conceiving? I have heard of people having a tilted uterus and worrying about conception but apparently it doesn't affect your chances. I spotted a thread for ladies trying to conceive with an underactive thyroid which may be worth checking out though you are more than welcome to stay here too. Good luck for Monday, let us know how it goes.

No af yet, still crampy so I know she is coming, but temp is still high at the moment. I had a freakishly high temp yesterday, but it's back to normal today. Xx

And it's game over for me Went to my scan this morning and most of my follicles have shrunk or disappeared altogether. I've gone from 11 on Monday to only 6 today most of which are small. I don't know what happened, whether I've ovulated early because the cetrotide was given too late or I need a higher dose of meds. Dh and I have pretty much decided we won't go ahead with this cycle as its too much money to waste on only a couple of follicles. So disappointed and upset, not sure how much more I can take of this. Waiting to hear back from czech clinic.

Oh lucie huge hugs for you. That's really really rubbish. I hope that czech get back to you with some answers soon, it seems like you had some confusing information and they need to sort it out.

They have replied and said I can try a higher dose next time if I want to like suggested by the UK but they don't think that will make much difference as already on quite a high dose. They have said I could go out there for the scans next time but that's not going to resolve anything as there is nothing wrong with the scans in the UK it's the medication and timing that needs sorting! Really tired and fed up with it all and losing hope at the moment. Don't know what to do next.

Lucie, I am so sorry. It must be absolutely awful to be geared up to go and then for this to happen. Were you on the same dose as last time? I find it all so confusing. My follicle count went up and down between scans, is there any chance of stimming for longer and seeing if the count goes up again.
