They would just move your scan back wouldn't they? Fx it works out anyway.

I'm ok thanks, just getting in to what should be my fertile period for the last pre IVF cycle. Our nurses appointment is in 10 days! Which will be cd23, so I guess my first scan will be around 1st July! It feels a bit like it's all happening to someone else and I'm just watching... Does that make sense?

TrixieRay · 12/06/2015 18:23

I guess so, no sign today so that's something Smile

Yep, totally makes sense. I felt a bit like that, I really didn't think we would actually end up going down the IVF route, it's all very surreal. FX for you this cycle, have you got any particular plan of action or just DTD as much as possible?

loopylou1984 · 12/06/2015 22:00

Just trying EOD until pos opk then every day for three days!
I don't really think it'll work, but worth a shot! Xx

lucieloos · 12/06/2015 22:39

Hi Sammy and Trixie, I'm good thanks. I am also waiting on AF which should be anytime from Sunday to Tuesday so not long now. I will have both of my scans the week after and off to czech again at the end of that week so it's in sight again now. Hope AF turns up for you soon trixie and you can make a start. Hoping you get a pre ivf BFP Sammy x

TrixieRay · 14/06/2015 17:41

Just checking in quickly on my phone to say AF arrived yesterday evening so all systems go tomorrow morning!

lucieloos · 14/06/2015 17:47

Yay good luck trixie! Mine should be arriving in the next couple of days too x

loopylou1984 · 14/06/2015 18:34

Good luck both of you!! You're about 2 weeks ahead of me as I'm at ovulation now! Xx

Sorry to gatecrash but...
Been ttc for 24 months
Had Prog tests, examinations, scans, ST for my hubby etc and everything just seems to have come to a standstill.
Cant go to our local Gyne clinic due to privacy issues and all the Drs say is "We dont know, keep trying" and send us on our "merry" way.
After 24 attempts, were pretty well "practiced" (if u know what i mean ;-) ) but i just feel like giving up all faith.
I know they say it happend when youre not thinking about it but there was a good 9 months of "not thinking about it" so now im starting to wonder if Drs missed something.
Drs are only willing to do an internal exam and 21d Prog levels again.

Sort of wondering if we should save up and go private?

Anyone been through the same/could share some advice? Im only 23, hence the frustration.
Sorry for the rant though =/

loopylou1984 · 15/06/2015 07:01

Welcome loretta, well you're at the magic two year mark so can I ask why you haven't been referred to a fertility specialist? You should surely be thinking of IVF at this point? Or do you already have a dc?

We're unexplained too, and have to wait until September for nhs referral so decided to pay for a private round as in our area you can have one private without losing nhs entitlement. Have you checked out the rules for your area? Xx

TrixieRay · 15/06/2015 15:50

Welcome Loretta, sorry to hear that you have been trying for so long without success. Can you insist on referral to a fertility clinic? I was referred after just over a year (didn't really push it though as we had had some tests done privately) and like Sammy am having a go at IVF privately whilst waiting for the NHS referral to proceed. I was told that after 2 years of trying I would go on the NHS waiting list for IVF.

Had my baseline scan this morning and am good to go so will do my first injection this evening- eek! Just want to get the first one out of the way.

loopylou1984 · 15/06/2015 16:01

Oh Trixie - good luck! Let me know how it goes won't you? I'm so nervous about that part!
What were they looking for on the baseline scan exactly? Xx

TrixieRay · 15/06/2015 17:53

I think it's just to make sure everything is looking ok Sammy, she mentioned that my lining looked good and there were no cysts or other abnormalities.

TrixieRay · 15/06/2015 21:29

Just done my first injection and feeling pleased with myself, it was absolutely fine Smile

loopylou1984 · 15/06/2015 21:41

Oh Trixie, well done!
What is the needle like? Is it a syringe?
How many do you have to do a day? Xx

TrixieRay · 15/06/2015 21:53

It's very fine, doesn't hurt at all. Its a pen with the medication in, you put on a needle, set the dose and inject. Glad I've got the first one out of the way.

loopylou1984 · 15/06/2015 22:12

Oh like a diabetic pen? Dh said it might be like that :). I was a bit worries about plunging a syringe in to myself! X

lorettaboretz · 16/06/2015 03:26

Oh, good luck! I really hope it all goes well for the both of you!!!
Sammy and Trixie, i have a close biological relation in our nearest Fertility Clinic and cant go there for legal reasons =[ (complicated) and when they found that out, our doctors just seemed to give up on us. Plus now weve found ouy my hubby isnt very well and everytime i ask, they reply with "are you sure that now is the best time" fact is, we've got a ticking clock and i dont think "waiting around" is the best course of action. Not sure where the next nearest clinic is but i know its definately not local!! However, we really cant afford to go private with IVF right now but equally dont know how long hubby has left =[ its a bit of a unique situation!

loopylou1984 · 16/06/2015 06:38

Oh loretta - what a terrible situation. Can you have a sample frozen privately so you don't have to stress about time?
I'm so sorry about your DH, but that (along with the relative) does not mean the nhs should give up on you. Go back to your gp, make a complaint if you have to. Xx

lorettaboretz · 17/06/2015 03:56

Thanks for the advice! I think i will go back and demand to hear the options that i have. I was starting to think that i was just being stupid about worrying about childred in this situation but what you said about getting a sample frozen, reassures me that there ARE options and i might not have to be alone forever lol. Thank you both though, at least im not alone in frustration and there ARE options.
I really do hope everything well for you both.
Ill keep popping back to see how you're both doing. Even if im a wee bit silent, you will always have my mental support for you and your families!!

loopylou1984 · 17/06/2015 07:02

Loretta - when you love someone so much and have been planning a future with children with that person I think you have every right to see that through. March back to that surgery and tell them that this is what you and DH want, the nhs do freeze sperm, but I'm not sure what the criteria is...

Good luck lovely, Xx

loopylou1984 · 17/06/2015 19:43

Trixie - how are the jabs going? Xx

TrixieRay · 17/06/2015 22:05

They're going well thanks Sammy. Was actually looking forward to getting it done the last two nights as it feels like one step closer Smile are you in your 2ww yet?

lucieloos · 17/06/2015 23:19

First night of stimms for me, all went well! Glad yours are going ok Trixie. When are you having scans? I have mine next Monday and Thursday. Won't be long for you now Sammy.

loopylou1984 · 18/06/2015 06:44

Ooh Lucie and Trixie, it's all getting close now!! You must be excited ( and scared I'm sure).

Yes I'm 4 dpo today so about 9 days until I'll know. Although at this point a natural bfp would be a miracle! Xx

TrixieRay · 18/06/2015 10:26

I have a scan tomorrow morning Lucie and then Monday, Wednesday and Friday next week. Though the nurse said on Monday that if I am a fast responder egg collection could well be moved forward to next Friday- eek! Hopefully will know more tomorrow. How do you feel with your stimms? I felt a bit nauseous at first but completely normal now.
You never know Sammy, crossing my fingers for you. I am definitely excited, nervous about egg collection though and having to do the transfer with a full bladder!
