Right, I just spent ages shifting the whole upstairs about to squeeze his cot out his room and into ours. I wonder how he will sleep in it Confused

Ugh Tori my DP is the same!! I have to ask him again and again to do one 10 second job like carrying something heavy upstairs or getting the hoover out of the cupboard for me (obviously he doesn't offer to actually do the hoovering Easter Hmm) and then he gets grumpy that I'm nagging him but seriously, if I ask him to do anything it takes about three days! It's so frustrating having to rely on someone else to do quick, simple things around the house isn't it?!
Ducky, I think DP wees so loudly because he's really tall so the wee is falling from a great height Easter Grin also he's super lazy in the mornings and stays in bed even when he needs to go until the very last minute so there's always a lot of wee to come out Easter Blush
I hope DS likes sleeping in his cot! What kind of covers does everyone use for their babies? My mum bought me some sheets and a blanket - I don't know anything about babies' bedding, like how many layers they need or what they should wear in bed?

Ducky23 · 02/04/2015 18:24

Haha lil my h is tall too!

I used the Moses basket and just got a few fitted sheets for that, ds wears a vest and sleepsuits for bed then he has a fluffy blanket and a blanket with holes in from mother care, I choose one (or both) depending on how hot or cold it is Smile

In his cot he has a waterproof mattress protector and a fitted sheet and slightly bigger blankets but the same material, just so I can tuck him in. He has had his fair share of illnesses/coughs which cause him to be sick so I got through a fare share of sheets, he has about 4 I think so I can allow a few in the wash & to dry Smile

Ducky23 · 02/04/2015 18:25

And sorry for you having issues with your dh's, hopefully it will pass Confused

I don't think they understand how tiring pregnancy is. X

LuluJakey1 · 02/04/2015 19:21

Lil and Tori - I think you have got what I had with DH. Every single thing he did drove me mad- he breathed, he ate, he slept all not to my liking, his jokes weren't funny, he wasn't tidy, he wanted to talk to me, he wee'd loudly, he took up too much space in the bed, he wanted to cuddle me, he was insensitive, he was full of himself, he felt sorry for himself, he went out, he stayed in, heasked me questions, he didn't say much, he hung around me too much, he didn't understand me, it was none of his business , he wanted to know what the baby was doing and I didn't want to tell him. He was the last ma on earth I wished I had got pregnant with and he would be a hopeless dad and role model and I didn't want him in my house , at the birth or even on the planet. I slep in the spare room for about 3 weeks. I was HORRIBLE to him. Easter Blush

It did pass- about a week before the birth. I love him to bits again. He smiled at me today and I went all silly inside. Easter Smile

And he has gone to get us an Indian takeaway. Yum!

lillamyy1 · 02/04/2015 19:28

Aaaww Lulu Easter Smile

Thanks for the bedding advice Ducky. I forgot to say before, it really made me Easter Grin about you catching DS's sick in your hand!!!

Ducky, Ds is nearly 14 weeks. I thought your DS was more than 2 weeks older. It felt like much more than that at the time.

Tori- I would just tell him to make his own sandwiches, or make them even more peppery next time so that he does make them himself Grin

Cupcake92 · 02/04/2015 21:21

Bedding wise!! Get grow bags!!! I swear by them! Best things ever as when DS started wiggling the blankets would slip off him and he'd wake up cold but when he was in a grow bag he could wiggle as much as he liked and stayed warm :) and I didn't have to worry about his blanket getting on his face and suffocating him Confused cuz I did worry about that.
DS is now 20 months (omg! Didn't realise this until I just counted!! Easter Shock) and has a cot side taken off and a bed guard, and has a toddler bed quilt and pillow and doesn't move around so much anymore lol :)

I just think men will always be men lol! :p

I'm soooooooooo tired lol. I brought a dominoes for me and DS and Ive only managed 2 slices n can't eat anymore lol!

Ducky23 · 02/04/2015 21:39

Ha lil I just panicked and cupped my hand under his mouth Grin didn't work!

Lulu, ds will be 17 weeks Monday Blush it's gone so fast! In his big cot tonight Confused

Tori, id add extra chilli powder next time Wink I tried going on strike a few times, didn't work, the house just got messier and messier until I could not cope Blush

Cupcake il come eat the rest of that dominoes! I was looking at grow bags but I'm never sure what tog and what not Confused

lillamyy1 · 02/04/2015 23:51

I agree with Lulu, Tori - loads of pepper! Grin going on strike wouldn't work in this house - DP isn't bothered if it's a mess Confused
I did think about grow bags Cupcake but like Ducky I wasn't sure about togs and also thought baby's arms might get cold!

Cupcake92 · 03/04/2015 07:29

DS had 2.5 tog all through winter, the weather as it is now I'd have him in an2.5 tog and the summer he had a 1.5 tog I think it was. They both worked very well :)
lol I also thought his arms would get cold Lill Grin but strangely they don't at all. DS would sleep better in them as he wouldn't get tangled or wake up with no cover on him. I just brought ones from asda and found they were pretty good :)

Tori just keep putting loads of pepper in until he gives up and thinks "I'll do it myself!" lol! Grin

Can't believe how fast these babies are growing up! And can't believe how fast everyone's pregnancies are going! :) we've had a year on this thread now as its April again. Again, I can't believe it's been a year since I started ttc! But I am so so thankful for this baby I have now and thankful it's healthy :) yay!

Happy birthday to our thread! Grin

I've changed my mind, need to go out and buy a grobag I think!

Cus he's so little in there he was wriggling straight out the blankets! I was getting up every few minutes to tuck them back in!

And this growth spurt is evil! He was up for 4 feeds last night Confused he usually has one quick one, then I had to keep giving him his dummy and tucking him back in, it was easy when he was in his Moses basket because it was pushed up to the bed but because the cot is so big it can't be that close Confused

I've got a grow bag now Smile but ds is currently in 6-9 month clothes and they were in 0-6 and 6-12 so I got him 6-12.

It feels ever so snuggly, shame they don't do them in my size Grin

Our room is pretty cool too tori Confused and ds room that he will be going into is the coldest! I hope he's ok!

I'm a bit worried as I wanted to use the monitor we got him (angel care) when he was in his cot but it's so big he wiggles all over the place, at one point last night he was sideways with his legs dangling out the bars Blush

Siarie · 03/04/2015 16:26

Went back to the assessment unit yesterday for more bloods and also because my bile acid results came back abnormal from Wednesday.

I definitely have the itching condition, so I'm now on medication to try and reduce my levels. Yesterday was crap, I ended up waiting four hours for bloods to be taken, a quick chat with the doctor and being checked on the CTG monitor. The midwife allocated to me forgot about me and was unwell herself so she kept forgetting everything rushing around.

Annoyingly It meant to didn't have any access to food or drink from breakfast until like 4pm by the time I could get out.

Have to go back for a scan of the baby and my liver which they want to do before Tuesday (but due to bank holiday I'm waiting for a call to see if they can fit it in). But Tuesday they want more bloods, if my levels haven't dropped then I'll need to be induced. No idea when or how quick that will be.

There's a higher risk of stillbirth with the condition so it's just really stressful, I would rather she came out now that wait but they don't want to bring her out too soon.

Apparently the waiting list to see a consultant is too long and I wouldn't be able to see one in time as I'm 37 weeks on Monday. Just really disappointed that I have to have the baby in that hospital now, I really wanted to be low risk and go for the birth centre because I know how busy the hospital is. You can hardly understand what the staff are saying because of their accents, which is really annoying! No one speaks to you really, the only time I can completely relate to a member of staff is when a consultant arrives or a doctor. Everyone else just seems to stick to their routines and they don't offer up any details about what they are doing next and how long they will be.

Ducky23 · 03/04/2015 16:58

Oh no siarie, how stressful for you Hmm

I know it's really late but is there any chance you can change hospital? If your not happy with that one?

It is awful that they left a pregnant woman that long without food or drink and they should explain everything to you properly. Pregnancy is stressful enough without all that!

Hope everything goes ok and you get answers quickly

Ducky23 · 03/04/2015 16:59

And tbh siarie if I was you, if I didn't have answers I would go back and demand to speak to a consultant Confused they might see you mean business then!
I think sometimes they try to push people around and fob them off Hmm

lillamyy1 · 03/04/2015 17:28

Oh Siarie, how horrid for you Flowers Flowers I really hope they get sorted. I think I'd be demanding an induction ASAP if I were you, with the increased risk of still birth.
I know it must be so rubbish that you can't go to the birth centre you wanted to, but at least they've found what's wrong and can get baby out safely.
Out of interest, where is this hospital so the accents are so difficult to understand? That would annoy me as well. You must take your DH along next time you go in so he can help make sure they take care of you properly.

Cupcake, I'm so happy too how everything's turned out for you this year - it's been a roller coaster! Easter Grin
And Ducky, it's so lovely you've got a healthy, wriggly DS after everything you've been through before (even if it does mean he wriggles all his covers off!!) Easter Grin
I've been so exhausted today. I couldn't go to sleep until after 2am last night (DP was out after work and I couldn't go to sleep without him - weird, because I'm not usually like that!) and then this morning I could t sleep properly because I was so uncomfortable and restless, couldn't breathe through my nose and kept waking up needing a drink and then needing a wee every half hour! So in the end I got up quite early and was so miserable Easter Sad But cheered up a bit arguing with people online about last night's leaders' debate Easter Grin
Then I went back to bed at lunchtime and slept until after four! Still feel knackered though and my friend's coming over in a bit - she's a professional photographer and is going to take some pregnancy photos of me Grin
I'm soooo fed up with being pg now, desperately want this baby to decide he's ready and come out!!

Ducky23 · 03/04/2015 17:30

Lil pregnancy photos sound ace! I wish I had got some done I just have masses of stretch marks to remind me of my massive bump

Bet they will be lovely Smile

Eugh my stomach has expanded loads. The past few days NONE of my clothes fit me :( my jeans hurt me and I end up undoing the button! Easter Shock

Ducky23 · 03/04/2015 21:27

Have you got an asda near you cupcake? The one by me is still open 24 hours Smile

How many weeks are you now? From what I remember with ds I was in mat clothes from 11ish weeks, normal clothes were too tight and uncomfortable!
