The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

Evening ladies,

Great list gill, there's lots going on and glad you've gotten in at the FC this month too.

How long have you been downregging now beaky? Have you had af? Any side effects apart from needle marks? Where are you up to now happy?

minx how are you doing? Hope you're not feeling too bad. Flowers I remember feeling wretched the day after my lap but ok after that. Sorry to hear about the ovary issues, but hopefully they'll have a plan to get you through ivf.

pip hope you're still getting on ok at work.

hb how's your progress?

Hope everyone else is ok!

Work is going well, super busy and interesting. Also liking being in London although missing Mr T and the hound, of course. Had dinner with friends tonight, two of whom have kids, one pg with her second and the other trying for no 2. Lots of baby talk but friends I can talk frankly to about IVF etc so not too bad. On train home now, think I'll be knackered tomorrow getting up at 6am....

Smidge001 · 21/01/2015 02:15

Bored is definitely the word Beaky. Yes, my clinic say down reg til AF comes then start stimming the next day. But they have said that I can stab for additional days on top if the timing would better suit. At this stage I am hoping to start drumming on Saturday so that my day 4 scratch is on Tues (day after Aus bank holiday) and my intralipid infusion will then be on Monday 2nd Feb. This is a week later than my original plans but at least it means Sundays are missed out (when AliG doesn't usually work). Anyway, that means I have to get my period today, tomorrow or Friday. Currently no real sign other than a couple of days of spotting a few days ago.

Boring!!

MrSmidge sent me a link to an IVF article this morning. Thought the berries might be interested. It's praising single embryo transfers. Sounds as if not just for better health and birth weight vs twins, but also that the vanishing twin thing isn't good for the surviving baby (although that might only be if they have to intervene physically to remove the foetus - i'll have to read it again to check). Doesn't seem to refer to the age of the mother though, or success rates, just the health of the baby.

Right, really must go and do something constructive.

Gillster · 21/01/2015 07:44

Good luck with your scans Happy, Barking and HB.

In for bloods again. Thought I'd got here early but am 10th in the queue and they haven't even started calling the numbers out yet!

Smidge001 · 21/01/2015 07:55

Just realised I forgot to paste the link in to my post! www.theguardian.com/society/2015/jan/21/health-ivf-babies-stillborn-births?CMP=ema_632

lumen · 21/01/2015 13:09

Hope everyone with scans and bloods today went well and all self injecting berries are doing ok, I can't believe how many berries are currently having treatment.

We had our gynae appointment this morning with a very nice consultant that I have not seen before. He has agreed to do a lap and dye to check my tubes and rule out endo, on the three month waiting list now. He also agreed to run the immune bloods they usually run on people with recurrent miscarriage. Could have had them done today but was not sufficiently hydrated and couldn't wait for an hour to drink a couple of pints of water, will go back in a weeks time. He also suggested the FC in London that we have been considering as an alternative to the one we have used (where he practices), as they offer more intensive immunes testing. The last consultant we saw said it was all nonsense.

All in all a much more successful meeting with a consultant than our previous ones.

HampshireBlues · 21/01/2015 14:12

Lumen that all seems very positive and looks like things are moving in the right direction.

All ok here and set for EC on Friday. About 5-7 at 18mm but they are hopeful that a couple more may grow as had an extra shot of Menopur this morning. Just waiting for the call from the clinic about last Buserelin dose and trigger dose based on bloods.

Bring it on!

lumen · 21/01/2015 17:07

Excellent news hb I have everything crossed for you Grin

Pipbin · 21/01/2015 17:45

All sounds good Lumen

Bring on the excitement HB. I always found the trigger shot stressful!

HampshireBlues · 21/01/2015 19:22

Not stressful just late: 2220 tonight which means I am towards the end of a very busy list....

Gillster · 21/01/2015 20:05

Excellent news HB, one more injection then you're done!

Any news Happy?

HampshireBlues · 21/01/2015 20:51

Anyone heard from Happy?

happylass · 21/01/2015 21:10

I'm here! Smile. Nothing major to report. Follies progressing steadily. Biggest only 15mm though so going to be a little while yet. Probably looking at next Weds for EC but got another scan on Friday to check progress.
Glad to hear you're almost there HB. Good luck for the trigger I had to to mine at 11:30pm last time - so worried I was going to fall asleep! I set about 5 alarms!
Lumen good to hear you've had a more positive appointment and that things are moving forward for you.

Good luck HB! I well remember the big jab. I recommend starting the process early. It took us quite a while to read all the instructions and get the needle set up (couldn't get damn bubble out)... so ended up getting a bit stressed and being a bit late with it!
Great to read the progress report Gill, lots going on. Good luck everyone with the appointments and drumming etc. Pip glad to hear work supportive, take it easy.

Smidge001 · 21/01/2015 22:07

Still no sign of AF Angry

Jelliebabe2 · 21/01/2015 22:16

Eeep HB nearly there and your numbers look good too! Enjoy your injection free day!

Cmon Smidge! I've got the AF dance troupe in the charabanc lumbering up for you! And dance bitches!

Tiger glad the job is going well. Have you made any potential work buddies yet?

We watched a programme tonight on the secret life of pets (not sure what it was called). There was a section with kittens in it. Jasper (boy cast obvs) was so concerned when the mewed he stood right in front of the tv and out his paws on the stand! Really made us chuckle. The next but was about birds... Completely not interested and wandered off

Loving the transfixed pets!

So I bumped into someone I know at the FC this morning. It's not a massively close friend but a couple we know quite well through DH's work. (We all used to work at this place although me and the other lady left 5-6 years ago). Both our DH's work in the same office. I'd suspected they may have been having issues but didn't feel close enough to ask. It was good to have a natter to someone in the flesh and at least I now know that DH has a bloke he can natter to about stuff if he wants to. They were at day 6 on short protocol so if all goes well for both of us we could end up with our embies going back on the same day.

I think it mostly depends on the results of your blood tests although age may also be a factor Minx. You generally start stimming from about day 2 or 3 in short protocol but you down regulate (switch things off) before stimming in long protocol.

Good evening lovely Berries! I know I've not been on the thread for a while but I've been checking in and obviously keeping up with those of you in the other place - just wanted to do some cheering for those having treatment at the moment (seems like most of you!!)
Haven't had the best start to the year so far but looking forward to it only getting better now. Will keep checking in and posting when I can - keep me a seat on the charabanc!

Smidge001 · 23/01/2015 05:12

Thanks Jellie the charabanc dance troupe have worked wonders. AF has arrived and I start drumming tomorrow. Here comes the rollercoaster again!

Narrowly avoided having to have another blood test to prove it. Thank goodness. So, 150 of puregon as well as my lucrin. Scratch (eeeek Shock) on Tuesday, and day 6 blood and Dildocam on Thursday.

Hope our dance troupe are good at changing the programme. AF dance done, but follicle growth dance needed soon and HB will be wanting the dance of the good egg ASAP. Good luck for egg collection HB. Must be, what - about 5hours time? (I may have got my time difference cocked up so apologies if it looks as if my maths is somewhat under par!).

MrSmidge got told today he's through to the 2nd round of job interview (within the same company, but a higher 'head of' role). V proud.
We're going to have fish and chips at the beach tonight to celebrate Grin
