The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+ months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and definitely no mention of baby dust or baby dancing).
Those not abiding by the rules may be escorted from the premises.

HB ! How did today go?

Pipbin · 23/01/2015 18:25

Berries - help me!!

So not only is the wife of someone I work with due the same week I would have been but I've just found out that a woman I work with is about 13 weeks with her scan on Monday!!! I don't know her due date but it will be within a week or two of mine.

BASTARDS.

I do feel bad though as I don't want the pregnant woman to feel bad. She is lovely.

Pipbin · 23/01/2015 18:26

Sorry, I forgot about HB how was it?

I don't know what I expected you guys to do. Just be sympathetic really.
I knew about the guys wife as she had her 12 week scan about 4 days before ours would have been. I found out the day before I lost mine.
Found out about the other one today.

WildflowerMarmalade · 23/01/2015 18:54

Oh bother those idiots Pip , that is totally unacceptable on their part. I don't know what to say to help, other than what a total pisser for you and I'm really sorry this had to happen now. Awful, awful timing.

How was EC HB ? All good, I hope.

My clinic have asked me to go and see the consultant on Monday - the lady on the phone said it was to 'discuss what treatment they can offer me' Confused Of course I am now worrying that my ORT results were so bad that they don't want to go ahead with the cycle after all. I haven't had the results back and have convinced myself they need to tell me in person in case I top myself when I hear the news. Feeling a bit glum about it tbh. Sad

On the other hand, I keep telling myself that they just want to go over a proper treatment plan because they don't seem to have any record of what tests and procedures I should be having or when. I keep having to explain what I'm there for every time I go in. Even if it is for that I'm worried that it will all mean a delay.

Sorry for banging on. I'm feeling like a right misery just now.

Hope you lovelies are doing better than me. How is the stabbing Beaky ? Any indication when you will get that finger on the trigger?

WildflowerMarmalade · 23/01/2015 18:56

You have full sympathy here Pipbin . Flowers + possibly a large gin for you.

Gillster · 23/01/2015 21:02

That's such shitty timing Pip, talk about giving someone a good kicking when they're down. Sending hugs and lots of Wine

Try not to panic Wild, they probably just want to go through things in detail with you which will be much easier face to face. You'll have to sign consent forms too at some point.

Hope HB is OK.

Gillster · 23/01/2015 21:04

It sounds as if some of the berries need a bloody good laugh, I recommend reading this thread, I had tears rolling down my cheeks.

beakybeak · 23/01/2015 21:29

Pip, what an absolutely shit situation. Hugs and plenty of gin, for tonight. Would you maybe try to book a some time off/a holiday or something around that time so you can maybe avoid the work colleagues for a while? I appreciate it won't change anything but it may take a bit of the pressure off. I really do feel for you Flowers

HB how was EC today?

Gill are the blood tests going ok? Loving the high kicks too btw Smile that is great about your dh how having someone to chat to, I bet the other guy needs that too, fx for you all for your simi-cycles!

Bobbles that is a skillful peeling talent you have if I tried something that small Id pee all over my hand

Happy totally crazy that you will be finished your cycle before I'm even half way! How did the scan go today?

Tiger I've been down regging almost 3 weeks now, had AF at the end of last week, scan is Monday. I hope I get to start stimming. I've been fine side effects wise this last week although I realised today I've felt much more stressed/irritable and emotional than normal. I assume that's linked anyway. How are you? Has your second week gone as well as the first?

Smidge are you going for a single then? I was quite sure I wanted to go two after a lot of research, but will read that article, thanks for posting. Woohoo to your AF turning up(!) and hopefully I'll be joining you with stimming soon.

Lumen that sounds like a really helpful appointment and great news you can get a lap and immunes. How are you feeling about things now?

Minx re long or short protocol, my FC does long as standard, but it does depend upon your personal circs - it was def best for me. March will fly here too then you'll hopefully get a quick IVF referral.

Rain nice to hear from you! Hope you're ok after your difficult January.

Wild I'm sure it's not bad, just hopefully them taking a proactive step forward to make a plan. Are you private? Have you had an IVF consultation yet? Sorry I can't remember fully. Gin for you tonight, lovely. Scan Monday for me thanks for asking, hopefully will get stimming after that! I think "pin cushions" should be in the next title too!

How is everyone else doing?

Gillster · 23/01/2015 22:56

Bloods going OK so far Beaky. Just a bit tiring having to get up earlier to try and get them done before work. It's also annoying to go in the complete opposite direction to work and then practically drive past my house on the way back. Reckon I'vd got at least another week of it. I shouldn't moan though, it's good not having to do any drugs and I bet there's plenty of folk who have much further to travel than me. My house is pretty equidistant from work and the FC, both being 6 miles away.

Any more developments with your cancer treatment?

WildflowerMarmalade · 23/01/2015 22:58

Golly Beaky are you still on downregging? I know you said you were bored but it really does seem to be dragging now. I've already skipped ahead to images of you in the delivery room with your baby and surrounded by booties knitted by the Berries. (Disclaimer: I can't knit). We need to pick up the pace here people.

Thank you for being nice to me tonight Berries. You've helped me to get a grip on myself. Luckily we are quite busy this weekend so that will prevent any of the dreaded dwelling on things. We're off to the seaside tomorrow, yay! Unless the weather is terrible DH is too hungover

Good night all.

Smidge001 · 24/01/2015 02:47

Oh Wild I really feel for you about your dreaded appointment. It sounds so like the time when I was called in by the horrible secretary who said AliG thought it better we see her in person to discuss next steps 'given the state of our embryos'. It was awful and suspect you feel rather as I did - but in the end my appointment was far more practical than I had been dreading and she simply wanted to go through various options with us and explain why she thought it best to do some other tests and try a different protocol etc. I am sure yours will also be just as standard.

Gill I don't envy you all these blood tests. I hate that bit, and was so glad when they didn't insist on another one for me before stimming, (though not sure why they made me do the blood test 5 days ago tbh. Would have preferred to skip that one and just have the blood done on AF day).

Beaky we don't seem to have a choice with our clinic. We're only allowed to transfer 1 blasto (not that we've ever had more at that stage to try anyway). I think MrSmidge was just happy to see this article supporting our forced route! (Must say if left to my own devices and without any info suggesting otherwise, I'd have been tempted to go for 2).

Pip what awful timing. I imagine those ladies will be feeling a bit awkward around you well they should anyway, it's not as if they need any sympathy for that It's surely enough to be having to go through this, without having other people's good luck being thrust in your face daily Flowers.

HB I hope egg collection went well.

Now that she's finally here, AF seems to be the heaviest I've ever experienced this month!! Orange super plus tampax needing changing WAY sooner than normal. Only lasted an hour this morning, good grief. And despite this, have ruined 2 pairs of knickers so far and had to baby-wipe my upper inner thighs! On the plus side I'm hoping this means my womb is clearing out any old crap to make space for a perfect new soft/spongey Confused interior for our next bean.

happylass · 24/01/2015 08:06

Morning all. HB hope all went well with EC, let us know when you can.
Pip it's hard seeing preggos every day at work under normal circumstances but must be so painful when it's a constant reminder for you. No advice but a hand to hold Flowers
Gill bloods everyday sounds like a right PITA. Feel like I'm practically living at the FC at the moment and I'm only getting scanned every other day!
Barking if you're lurking let us know how you're getting on. I seem to remember things should be happening around the same time for us.
Beaky hang on in there, you've been so patient and you're well over half way now.
Scan went well yesterday, I now have 12 follies. Not sure where the extra 4 came from but the more the merrier eh?
Hope everyone else is doing ok and has a good weekend. DH has popped in to work for a few hours but off for a stroll in to town and some lunch when he returns. Nice chilled weekend Smile

Morning Berries, sorry for not opting yesterday but really struggled to wake up and didn't get discharged until six pm (procedure finished at 11!). Try actual Consultant cam to see me before I went as it was a little difficult and we only got 6 eggs. Still a good number but a lot less than last time with more drugs so overall a tough cycle. Waiting to hear from the clinic this morning to see the fertilisation rate (DH sperm was looking good so IVF it isn't) and then a wait until Monday when it will be all action stations to get to the clinic for day 3 transfer or wait until Wednesday for blasto.

I have to say that I don't have the best feeling about this cycle but I am hoping that the fact that it is a little tougher means that I have some tough eggs that will become beautiful embies.

I will catch up on everyone's news later, but hope you are all ok x

HampshireBlues · 24/01/2015 09:00

Arrgh sorry for the typos. That should read IVF it is!

beakybeak · 24/01/2015 09:11

Gill yes how annoying, it must feel like such a hassle, what happens next then? They scan you til your surge then do they dildocam too? Then book you straight in and defrost some of the team? Exciting that you will be finally getting your chance! Fx and pom-poms are ready for you! I'm waiting to see what happens at the dildocam before changing my skin cancer op just in case the cycle is cancelled or anything then I'll ring them.

Wild yes! They did tell me in the IVF info evening that they make us dr for 3 weeks, but it feels like eternity ha. Scan on Monday but I also start a new course and haven't really thought this through. There's less than half an hour between them. Anyway get practicing your knitting skills please, I'm holding you to the booties! Are you feeling any better about things today? Enjoy the seaside!

Smidge my AF was much heavier while down regging too although it's usually so light it only lasts 2 days tops! Good luck with stabbing.

Happy great news about the extra 4! When is EC going to be then? Exciting times for a few of you now!

Shall we send the berry signal up for HB? Hope you're ok HB let us know the news when you can lady Smile

beakybeak · 24/01/2015 09:15

Oops! X post HB! That's still great news - I am pompoming away for an excellent fertilisation rate for you! Let us know when you can and well done too Smile

happylass · 24/01/2015 09:23

Gosh HB you have been through it! Hope you're taking it easy and looking after yourself. 6 is a good number. We only had 7 mature eggs last time. 6 fertilised and they all made it to blast which is more than some who have a lot more eggs. It really is quality over quantity. Keeping everything crossed for you Flowers

WildflowerMarmalade · 24/01/2015 09:55

HB poor you, it sounds like recovering from the procedure was a struggle. Six is a decent number and like you say, they must be little toughies. Hope you are feeling better today and that your DP is looking after you. Lie on that sofa and milk it for all it's worth!

Go Happy's follies! So glad that things are ticking along nicely.

Aw thanks Smidge - your AliG tale makes me feel much better. I have got a bit of perspective now, thank you Beaky . Yes, we are private. We had a consultation after the IUI failed and discussed IVF then. It's just taken so long to get to the point where we are ready to start a cycle that any little change or hiccup spooks me.

Do you get a lie in over the weekend Gill ? Enjoy it, if so. It is exciting that you are finally getting closer to reuniting with your frosties.

Enjoy your weekends everyone!

HampshireBlues · 24/01/2015 15:17

So news from the clinic is that four out of the six fertilised so will need to await an update on Monday, hopefully they'll all get to blasto stage. Still can't keep awake, have no idea what is wrong with me!
