Still here, still struggling on, still hoping to get there in the end. Come on ladies, we'll all get our BFPs in 2015 (if not before)!

Hallo girls! I thought about joining you next cycle but I'm trying to invoke the law of sod by signing up now! :) late 30s ttc #2 DC is heading on for 14 months and I'm on cycle 6 ttc since af came back, but we were actively trying for months before hoping to catch the first egg.
Dc1 was really simple. Went off birth control, had one Af and then fell pregnant without really trying or knowing anything about ttc. Was a really easy pregnancy and birth too, luckily.
Honestly thought deluded myself that it would be similarly quick and easy. Been really down these last two cycles, because I'm quickly nearing forty almost and realize time will run out and desperately want a sibling for DC.
I know some of you have been trying for much longer which is why I've mostly been lurking and riding on the other buses but thought I'd say hi on here. My lp has only been 5-7days since af came back so no luck for implantation, but I'm taking progesterone this cycle to try to help.
I will continue lurking, but waves in the mean time.

LittlePoot · 12/05/2015 14:38

Yay Cinammon - fantastic news! Although am massively jealous too, obviously Wink. And please do come and join us autonomousplum. It's getting mighty quiet around here as lots of lucky ladies get a bfp so please don't feel the need to lurk! Hopefully sod's law will mean you're out of here again soon, and in the meantime feel free to share the load.

Brindler · 12/05/2015 18:10

You're kidding cinnamon! That's amazing news congratulations! Well that was short and sweet! Hope all goes well for you! Xxx

Hi auto! Please do join us we really are dwindling as this thread seems to have been very lucky lately - hoping I get a turn soon but af arrived for me this afternoon so it's obviously not my go just yet!

CinammonGirl · 12/05/2015 19:25

Thank you so much Flowers I still can't quite believe it myself! I hope you ladies get your turn soon, don't lose hope, you will get there x

BurningGubbins · 12/05/2015 19:46

Ha! I bloody knew it Cinammon! Congratulations!

Welcome AutonomousPlum. I've had a short lp the last couple of cycles and am going to try to boost it next cycle (am I already assuming this one is out..?). Was your progesterone prescribed?

chendy78 · 12/05/2015 20:19

Just checking in to see how everyone's doing. Congratulations cinnamon!
Had 12 week scan this week and all is well which is a relief.
I have a batch of opks for the clearblue digital fertility monitor if any of you would like them, think you can use them without the reader but not sure how easy it us to read them alone?
Do message me if you'd like them and i'll put them in the post. Also got few Internet cheapy pg tests.
Fingers crossed for more bfps- hope the thread does keep going, is such a support xx

Fruitbatyogi · 12/05/2015 20:24

Mind if I join too?

39 ttc number 2 for 6 months now.
Similar story, first one instant, now I'm swiftly heading for 40 and no dice it appears..
Trying inositol and soy this month, getting more desperate and less hopeful.
Think that's it for now, crossed toes for this month.

Brindler · 12/05/2015 21:48

Congrats chendy! Glad all is well. Must be amazing to finally get those pics in your hands - I love scan photos!

I got in a strop with my cbfm and sold it! But thanks for the offer. You're definitely right this thread has been an amazing place for me to rant and speak to others who know what it's like.

Fruitbatyogi - of course! I'm a relative newbie myself although starting to feel like a veteran with all the bfp departures lately. So frustrating when dc1 was so easy and you expect it to be the same second time round and then it's not. Hope you're stay is short (in the nicest possible way!) I've also just started with inositol and trying to decide whether to try soy again - only tried it for a month before I had to stop all supplements before my laparoscopy. Trying to get back into the swing of supplements again.

Dh has just told me he can't make our follow up appt at the fertility clinic in June ?? so looks like we're going to have to delay it again! Although should be used to delays by now!

BurningGubbins · 13/05/2015 19:36

Blimey, that's gone quickly CHendy! Glad to hear all is well. I don't have a cbfm either, not sure I need another blinking tracking thing...

Welcome Fruitbatyogi! I was going crazy when it took 4 months with my first. I'm now on 16 months and kind of resigned.

Having some pelvic aching which I'm hoping is due to my better diet this week and not impending bad news, not least because a period this soon will definitely mean my lp is up the spout. But then at least I can raid Holland and Barrett and feel like I'm doing something about it... DH is doing a great job on his pills and stuff but we won't know what effect that's had until he re-tests in August. Feels a long way away.

CinammonGirl · 13/05/2015 20:55

Thank you burning and chendy :) x

autonomousplum · 14/05/2015 18:43

Thanks for inviting me to stay on! Smile
burning yes, it was. Off-label though (I now think) as it was a private prescription from the gp rather than an nhs one. Dydrogesterone, which seems to be very good for helping extend short lp's. Nhs only prescribe it for HRT and menopause. Will let you know how it worked once I start thanking them this week still hopefully. :) Took soy last cycle and it triggered ov I'm reasonably sure and brought opk pos forward by quite a few days which was great!

Brindler · 14/05/2015 21:45

What days do you take your soy auto? I'm on cd3 so wondering whether to start tonight or tomorrow? Pretty sure I didn't ovulate last cycle, but cycles before that i think I did. I don't temp as am a rubbish sleeper so don't think it would work for me so just rely on opks. Been taking inositol for the last 5 days and have had a terrible upset stomach - wondering if that's the cause?!

autonomousplum · 15/05/2015 15:32

brind I took it cd2-6. I was keen really bringing my pos opks forward as much as possible and trigger actual Ov too. There is a post by kitty on one of the older soy threads where she notes the effect of soy taken on different days of your cycle. My main advice is to take it at night to minimize any side effects. Smile
Fwiw I have no useful sleep pattern bc DC is an awful sleeper and still needs feeding two to three times a night, but I still temp. I was still able to figure out even though I never get three hours in a row and hardly ever do it at the same time, that I probably wasn't ovulating at all until last cycle. I try not to worry about how I'm doing it "wrong" and just try to utilise the patterns I see.

adelecarberry · 15/05/2015 16:44

I just put a similar post without seeing this one. Atleast im not on my own :) my problem is my iregular periods x

BurningGubbins · 15/05/2015 21:51

Yep, I'm a rubbish sleeper too and can still see the pattern. I've found it quite surprising how much time there is between my positive opk and temp change. I reckon we've been mis-timing it a bit, though we know the main issue is DH's test results, so he's trying to sort that.

autonomousplum · 16/05/2015 08:23

adele maybe the soy will help settle the cycle but tbh I don't think it is especially good for that? The soy only really helps (as I understand it at least) for the cycle you take it on, rather than having a cumulative effect and resetting you, so to speak, even after stopping. I think after stopping you sort of revert to your body's old pattern. You might need something proper for irregular periods? Have you seen a gynae?

BurningGubbins · 16/05/2015 13:24

I took soy for a couple of months and it seemed to reduce my lp, which I am now trying to fix. My cycle was regular though, so I was taking it to improve egg quality and make ovulation stronger (which it did, I had very noticeable ovulation pains, when I've never had them before).

Ordered some maca capsules today. Seems to have lots of general benefits, increased energy, better sleep... Might as well give it a go!

I'm still having some aching but the usual period signs are not there so I'm hoping my cycle is returning to normal. I'm not getting my hopes up until at least Thursday!

Brindler · 18/05/2015 19:53

How's everyone doing? Any updates/news?!

Af seems to have been more normal this cycle and I'm back in the swing of taking my cocktail of supplements each day and getting ready to get back in the baby making saddle!

LittlePoot · 18/05/2015 23:19

Nothing here. I'm not even sure where I am in my cycle because we had a long weekend away and I didn't take opks. They were negative last Thursday and negative today, but I've got no idea whether it's still to come or whether I've missed it! Very annoying. Ah well. Otherwise, everything is mooching along as always. How's everyone else?

BurningGubbins · 19/05/2015 06:26

All OK here, though I am out this month. The good news is that my lp seems to have returned to normal, so I guess it took a while for the soy to get out of my system. Starting maca once AF has started properly, and hoping it'll bring me a good night's sleep and some energy if nothing else.
That said, I started yoga last night and slept pretty well. With that and the maca I should be on top form!

BurningGubbins · 20/05/2015 18:23

Gah! Apparently someone asked my DH if congratulations were in order today. Double whammy - I am fat (though have lost 6lbs) and not pregnant... Angry

LittlePoot · 20/05/2015 20:23

Oh God burning, how horrible for you. I had that a lot after my second miscarriage (before being pregnant with ds). Really didn't help my mood! But it did make me bin one particular top I had that seemed to lead to most of the "interest" in my non-condition. Grrrrrr.
I still have no idea if I've missed ov this month or not. If I have it was a bit early and if I haven't then it's late. I can't be arsed with much dtd at the moment anyway (hectic at work, again) so let's assume I've missed it and have the rest of the month off! What's the betting I'll still get my hopes up just before af even though it'd be practically an immaculate conception....

Brindler · 20/05/2015 22:01

Oh burning!!! Been there! I'm sure I've told you the story of the woman at work who patted my stomach whilst saying "any news?!" "Err no, it's just my lunch..." (And the extra weight I've never managed to lose)

Little I know exactly how you feel too! This ttc lark has become so tedious I almost dread a positive opk as I know I'll have to dtd at the time when I'm really not feeling it! That's also the reason I went on complete strike for a month as i knew even if i dtd once then I'd be symptom spotting - have to say that was one of the best things I did! Just now finding it difficult to get back into it ...

Just throughly fed up of the whole thing right now!

BurningGubbins · 22/05/2015 06:20

She apparently tried to dig herself out of the hole yesterday, saying he'd misunderstood Hmm

Oh well. Everyone looking forward to the long weekend?

Brindler · 22/05/2015 19:16

Ha ha! Poor girl must have been fretting about it all night!

Sure am! Worked an extra day today but now home with a glass of something cold on the go. Spent most of the afternoon planning a little mini break with a friend in August. Am secretly hoping Sod's law will kick in around July and finally get me pregnant thus ruining my plans for a wine fuelled weekend away ...! Wink
