It is what I think it is, isn't it?

We are not ttc. I have been taking cerazette religiously, I don't think we can cope with another child. I'm anti-abortion.... Oh god :(

Yeah, I know.

Bloody hell, we already have 3 children. Youngest is just turned 4. We were just getting back to normal.
Oh god, there was a time a couple of years ago when I would have LOVED this. But now?
How do I even tell DH?

Thank you for replying.

It's looks positive alright, see GP right away to discuss options.
There is a chance it is the evaporation line, this can become stained if the test was done some time ago,

crispiecrunchie · 07/10/2014 13:12

I got pregnant on cerazette as well. I'm not convinced on how reliable it is.

Definitely looks positive. what a shock! Speak to your husband and see gp to find out how far along you are. I was just 7 weeks when I found out.

The line is fairly faint so should still be early??

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 14:51

Thanks everyone. Yes what a shock indeed!!

I don't think it's an evap line, it came up within seconds.

DH will hit the roof I think. It's the very last thing he wants/expects.

Need to find the right words to break it to him.

Thanks theselittlelightsofmine - that's really good to hear!! :)

I know we will manage. This is one of those things isn't it? It is an accident. I think I may have vomited my pill up (sorry if tmi) when I had a big a few weeks ago, or maybe the cold/flu meds interfered? I don't know.
I just worry about finances. We're going to need a bigger car, all the baby stuff. It's all money isn't it? Confused

That's positive alright. Everything happens for a reason though, least that is my motto :) good luck!

wanttobeamummyin2015 · 07/10/2014 15:49

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 15:49

You're right, it will. Just a big shock to the system today! I'm a bit calmer than I was earlier, just off to pick the kiddos up from the school bus now. My eldest will be very excited when we eventually tell her (weeks/months away yet!) - she's been asking for years!

OP posts:
cheeseandpineapple · 07/10/2014 15:52

Faint but can just about make a pink line out (presume it's the second one you're asking about, been a long time since I took a test).

What made you do a test if you haven't been having periods anyway, do you have pregnancy symptoms too?

cheeseandpineapple · 07/10/2014 15:59

Being part of a big brood sounds lovely to me, once you get the hard yards out of the way. At least you'll have older children to help you out, sounds like there will be enough of an age gap for your others to be a team of helpers! there is a pretty big gap between me and my youngest sibling, my mum says he was brought up by the whole family and she hardly had to do anything! Early days but hope it works out well for you all, whatever the outcome.

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:09

cheese I had to call to order my next prescription of cerazette and they always ask me if I've done a pregnancy test, I guess it jut spring to mind.
I bought a twin pack of first response about 6 months ago (as I don't get periods) just to check, this was the other in the pack.

Symptoms wise, I guess I have been more tired lately, and possibly a little more hormonal, I've noticed have been quite snappy with DH over the last week. All adds up doesn't it?

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:12

And thank you, I'm hoping all works out well too. :)
I have always wanted a big family but DH really didn't! I'm a bit scared/worried of what he's going to say if I I'm honest....

OP posts:
TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:16

When we had a 'scare' a few years ago (false positive on tesco digital test) he was devastated. :(
He's going to be the same this time. He's such a worrier at the best of times. Plus he's just started a new medication (adalimumab/humira) and I don't know of that will have any effect on a pregnancy/unborn baby. That's something I really need to check up on.

OP posts:
specialsubject · 07/10/2014 16:18

he was part of the tango, and it is always a possibility that contraception can fail.

scared/worried is ok. 'hitting the roof' with you is not.

wishing you the best.

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:20

Thank you specialsubject
I don't think he will actually hit the roof, as in explode in temper. He will be gutted though, I'm almost certain of that.

Titsalinabumsquash · 07/10/2014 16:22

I'm currently pregnant with an unplanned Cerazette baby, as is my sister, I really question it's effectiveness, I know I took my pill everyday at the same time and had no stomach upsets or other medication..

Anyway, I hope you work things out with your OH, he has no right to hit the roof, he's an adult who had sex as are you, he's 50% responsible, you'll be fine if you support each other. There's always a way. Thanks

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:27

My doctor said there was a 12 hour window to take it, not at the same time everyday! Shock.
She said it was the mini pill that had to be taken at the same time everyday but definitely not this! I've been taking mine between 5am and sometimes as late as 4pm! (If I've been working and didn't take the strip of pills with me).
It's nearly always been at 11am though as that's when I have my cuppa.

My doctor is the family planning do actor at my surgery too, soo... Confused
Oh heck.

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:28

doctor

OP posts:
Titsalinabumsquash · 07/10/2014 16:30

It does have a 12 hour window! I just made sure to take it at the same time everyday when I do my sons medication so I didn't forget a day. I'm sure you did it right, i know so many stories of ot failing.

TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:30

Surely of I had been taking it wrong it would have failed on me before now... The timing of my vomiting bug/cold and this bfp are too coincidental really. My bug was 2 and a half weeks ago.

OP posts:
TulipChewlip · 07/10/2014 16:32

Phew :)

I was worried all over again there titsalina Grin

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Flowers
I'm sure we will be fine, he's a sensible fella and he knows how babies are made. I think it's gonna knock him down in shock though.

I have been pregnant while taking Cerazette twice. My GP insisted that I must have forgotten a pill, but I'm very sure I didn't. I wouldn't trust it again!

Good luck with telling your husband. Flowers
